Good to see @elrik @Si.Dalziel @Westie66 @Andy Wallwork @David lear last night. @Si.Dalzielwas that worried I wouldn't make it back from a 3 day tour of Yorkshire that he tracked me via Whatsapp and found us on the M6, escorted us the Golden Peasant. Sadly his sheepherding skills weren't so good as @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary @Stu Faulkner and @Greenstreak-Andy D escaped! @Si.Dalziel Took us on a good run to the Cat And Fiddle too: The new Congleton Bypass has some top quality tarmac 👍5 points

As the convoy was passing by me anyway and the fact@Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Had been sharing his location all day it seemed rude not to join the weary travellers for a bit. I got a wave from about half a mile away from @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary, then came @Stu Faulkner, @Greenstreak-Andy D and finally @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO pointing into the sky at something. After a brief stop a few of us did indeed sample the splendid tarmac of the new Congleton bypass (I’m not sure it would be wise to show footage of that) Then onto a quick sunset stop at the Cat and Fiddle inn after avoiding a family of ducks. For any animal lovers I was obviously joking about harming the ducks and they would have done more damage to the cars if we had gone through them.4 points

Shigeo, welcome to the Forum. I hope we can all help with your work to get your car on the road. It's over forty years since I was last in Japan. I used to visit frequently to see our licensees Kanamatsu Gosho and their sub-licensses Daifuku Machinery and Kanagafuchi Chemicals. We licensed the manufacture of products using a patented moulding process to incorporate steel reinforcement into injection mouldings. I visited plants in many places in Japan and got to love the place. The Hakone National Park and the coach run to the fifth station (I think it was fifth) were wonderful. Once the licensees experience was as good as ours I didn't need to visit any more unfortunately. One day I will take my wife and we'll see all the sights together. A 'Green Pallet' (trade name) and a typical steel armature.2 points

So you pay a small fortune for a car then get killed by a 150mph bee?1 point

@DamperMan I feel your pain and tears! I had similar issues after laying my sandstone patio about 10 yrs ago or so despite laying it on a full wet bed mortar. I lifted the loose ones or any other suspect ones and then relaid them but using sbr and slurry mix as you say (spraying back of slabs with the hose also to reduce slurry mix drying out to quickly). I then repointed it all by hand again but I had a mix of sbr and water which I carefully brushed into the joints and along the edges of the slabs to aid with the mortar to bond with the stone, and then really packed it in hard. I took it really personally that I had done something wrong but I have been to so many friends houses who have had their patios laid by professionals and seem to have had similar issues, what made it worse was I laid mine in a heatwave so everything was drying out quickly.... 6:1 mortar is what I used also. A mate of mine who does a lot off groundwork and patios did say to me to add some sharp sand to the mortar to aid with binding it together. Maybe I was be a little ambitious as I had never done this before but this was my finished result, it needed 20 tonnes of scalpings to get it to the finished height to work with the bifold doors, and the stones were a ball ache to cut the curves into but with the steps it turned out good, just needs a good wash when summer comes??!!!?? Good luck1 point

@Shigeo Welcome! Don’t worry, we’ll help get you back on the road. You’ve started in the right forum area to say hello, now you can start asking technical questions in Tech Talk. We only have two rules - there are no stupid questions so please ask away, and we like photos so attach them to your questions when you can. I hope that when you get it running again that you show us videos or pictures of you driving around Japan too!1 point

What a good idea for a new section ........... primary rules are that any light hearted witty banter must be taken totally seriously and the thread must drift into a major political/religious/social/economic debate with 5 posts 🤣👍🏻 ............ anyway, what's wrong with brown velour and square steering wheels 🤣 good job it wasn't the van den plas version 🤣 Popcorn shortage about to start1 point

You shouldn't apologies for your 'poor' English, as it is a lot better than any of our Japanese! Any questions you need to ask relating to the issues you have with the car can be asked in the 'Tech Talk' area of the forum and you should be able to get an appropriate response.1 point
