Just want to say that the car Chris built and kept us enthralled with on the boardroom is featured in this months Practical Performance Magazine. It is a great write up and looks fantastic and well deserved recognition4 points

Jim Gould from 7Spot was kind enough to take the time to discuss my time with Westfields and the evolution of Westfields in Barbados with me. Interview here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HviNb4LpPfY Group can be joined here :- https://www.facebook.com/groups/SevenSpot3 points

Watched it all and it is probably the second best thing Clarkson has ever done. The best was his documentary on the raid on the submarine pens in the second world war. In this series he really does want it to work and it shows just how hard it is to make a living from a farm these days. Kaleb, really does not give a damm who Clarkson is or what he is worth, he knows more than Clarkson does about farming and is not afraid to say it how it is. Apparently nothing is scripted as such but edited well afterwards. there are some real laugh out loud moments when everyone is telling him what a dick he has been and he knows it. I really hope that there is a second series and that Kaleb does not change one bit3 points

There are far better products out there than rainx. The g technique stuff is superb. Just follow the instructions exactly. https://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/gtechniq-g1-clearvision-smart-glass I'm currently using angel wax h2go as I got some as a free sample, it is pretty good, probably on a par with the g technique but only lasts 2 or 3 months. https://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/angelwax/h2go-rain-repellent.aspx They are definitly not snake oil. I can drive at over 30mph in the rain and can make do without wipers.3 points

Good result, seems very content. If the owner had not been identified, did plan b involve the bag of bbq charcoal?3 points

Out of the 2 I listed I would reccomend the g technique stuff over the other. Yes it's more pricey but when applied correctly its brilliant. Although a rag upgrade may still be required for the inside 🤣2 points

Good comments there Blatters Media info is at same level as Facebook and Twitter. Medics I believe and certainly my wife is more than educated enough to have a good understanding. Anyone in government, of any and all party type is to be questioned. All parties and countries are juggling needs and politics, idiots and the press. All badly compromised. Anyone who says we should be following and or believing china needs a good head rattling.2 points

One of the topics of conversation at the last Cheshire & N. Staffs meet kind of revolved around this sort of thing - we had a few there that had bought recently, also, being petrol heads a long way from first car buying days, many of us have history when it comes to buying niche vehicles! One of the interesting things to come up, (as I’ve noticed a lot, here), and I should stress, this is many cars that attract strong ownership clubs, not just Westfields, one example quoted was DeLoreans, so not just kits, either! Was that members of big owners clubs tend to consistently under value their cars. It’s a combination of things, I suspect, we’re perhaps too close to them, and not analytical enough, there’s also a definite “priced for Club Members” trend, as we like to think of our babies in the hands of fellow enthusiasts etc.. and even an “I know what I want for it, and am happy with that” approach, that avoids looking at market values, all together! One of the downsides of the undervaluing approach, is that I’m afraid all the chumming the water with way underpriced cars has started attracting the sharks. We are absolutely seeing traders join (paying, legitimately) to try and snap these up so they can flip them for a good profit.2 points

B#gger!!! Played that wrong... It's worth between 8-10k, and because you are a trusted member of the club I'll give you 12k 🤪😜😁 😃2 points

Ah, I wondered if/when Will was going to put that in!! I've swapped emails with Will for a good few years now, mostly about random electronics issues. We met when he did a feature on the Stratos replica I built some years back. I'd best grab a copy as I've no idea what he will have printed Thanks for the heads-up Jeff2 points

Having been looking around for quite some time now looking at cars trying to buy one and I've now just bought one so I've hopefully got a pretty good idea of the marketplace. I've seen similar cars for sale for between £ 14,000 to £ 18,000 whether they sell for that kind of money is a different matter. Also that's a big range deliberately as you need to be happy to sell at the price. Hope that helps.2 points

Amyone been watching? Half way through the series and really enjoying it. Even the mrs is loving it and she hated TG/TGT. Clarkson a bit more himself that in previous shows (but still the buffoon at times, but less obnoxious) however the real stars are Kaleb and Gerald. If you've got prime well worth a watch. The sheep episode had me in stitches.1 point

Started watching it at the begining of last week and just couldn't stop, the whole family felt the same. All laughing at Jeremy being himself and such an idiot at times. Absolutely brilliant, mainly for Kaleb and the others, who are so honest. Famer friends just love it, has shown the crap they have to put up with.1 point

Also a change to the flat blade Landy style wipers instead of the std westy cantilever ones makes a massive difference aswell, and I do plenty wet miles lol1 point

thank you, i do have nitrons, but fear i wont be allowed to use those, anyway besides which as you have stated ones like that are designed for smooth tarmac, which is why i need to have a good think before i go for this. I am bound to have more questions once i have watched your video, sorry about that, lol.1 point

not watched it yet, but given i know what sort of events you did, can you remember the rough ride heights you had for the gravel type stages, i have something similar planned if it all works out and was unsure what to do about the susp.1 point

I tried it on my visor of helmet after motorbike owning m8s recommended it,was very disappointed due to my aero screen you don't get enough air passing over the visor to push the water off🤷🏾♂️ So I can see your point about the rake of the screen👍1 point

i have to disagree, been using rain x for probably 25 years or so, works very well just beading the drops of water , but you do have to be driving at something like 30mph for the effect to work. i re-apply when it stops the beading bit, usually twice a year, but then i dont go out in the rain that often.1 point

I’d have been guessing the same sort of range, details of condition, like exactly how you define the body work “issues” compared to some one else, affecting just where it sits. (From the photos and your general approach to cars, I suspect your definition of what’s got a bit of a patina of use on it, is probably harder on the car than many others would be.)1 point

I’ve said this before on such posts but I’ll stick to my guns. You are the only one who can answer that 😁 You know what it stands you and what stupid offer you’d refuse - so just man up and post a price 😛1 point

Ok, I'll start..... somewhere over £12K, maybe up to £15K depending on condition and how keen you are to sell.1 point

The lads moan like mad when I go in to play in the workshop or bring a new toy back, I’ve said if they want to pay the bills then I’d be more than happy to listen to them! Until then it’s my train set 😂1 point

MOT day today so went down to Wantage MOT Centre as usual. When I got there, I was able to park next to a lovely R reg (1976/1977) Lotus Elan +2S in beautiful original condition. The interior is particularly gorgeous with oatmeal leather, burr walnut dash, lots of proper round instruments - I know, I'm going on, now!. I have broached the subject with Mrs Marks who has forbidden me to even think of having another car! Trevor's comment at the garage was "I thought the Elan was low!"1 point
