@SteveH used to do a great coordination job on the trackday front for the club and the back office staff for the club feel it may be worth another go/experiment. So from myself putting my hand up earlier in the week, I will now be taking up the role of trackday coordinator/liaison/advisor for the club. This is not to stop/take over any of the current organised events between club members but to try and add further value to a growing group of Westfield club members. I will establish a single point of contact with many of the large Track day organisers and manage where possible the discount code for the club or further discount for large numbers 10+. I would also like to try and get a couple more official club days together, but this will all depend on the members support. I would like to offer support to novices who would like to dip there toe into trackdays, I often see new members say general touring Westfield with a couple of trackdays a year, these are the people i would really like to help. As starting out for your first couple of day would be much easier with the support at the curcuit from other members. Finally I will be the contact for flags, gazebo etc to be booked in and out, that would like to be used at trackdays. It would be great to get some more publicity for the club at these days and hopefully adding a little more off track organisation will help. I will be looking at some dates of days throughout the rest of the year and start the tdo liaison over the next couple of weeks. There is a great core group of friendly track day goers in the club and it has been slowly growing in the last couple of years. A few more would make club only days more viable and the first bonus of that is no clio's to deal with 😁. Many thanks Simon.1 point

First long run for a while, and a good one. 8 cars started out heading through Selby, Holme on Spalding Moor, where we picked up another, Market Weigton and Beverley, passing the race course and then on to the coast. Arriving at 6pm was good and bad. Free parking and toilets closed. More loos found a short walk away with a fish shop close by. Sitting in the sun with a bit of banter going on. After an hour, we set off for home, trying to take the same route, but something went wrong and we ended up on the one road we were trying to avoid, the M62. It was quicker though .1 point

its funny because i find myself today saying the same as my mother did to me back then, what are you listening to that rubbish for, here have a listen to this... i do not seek out modern music, it sadly comes free of charge through my walls - kids next door... and its all mainly very high speed bass drums and lots of shouting which sounds quite appalling to me , but thats just what my mum said to me about the human league...1 point

Just back this aft from a week's break in Scotland. ( I think my head and heart are still there.. 😍) I guess I'll have to fire up my trackday mojo tomorrow to get ready for Donny on Monday. Weather not looking too bad is it? Will have a look at all the other dates that have appeared recently after I get Donington out of the way.1 point

That guide is fine for a traditional hand cut roof but not for a trussed roof.1 point

We've been seeing the same information as everyone else over the last couple of days; ie Face Book promises of dates that it will be on. The team are on it behind the scenes, but please be patient, we haven't had the information from the event organisers yet to even put a plan together ourselves. Once we actually do get official information for exhibitors etc, we then have to look at what can actually be done, and what actually should be done, so even if we get event details today, we've then got a lot to do, before we can actually say what's happening. ....And it all could still be cancelled/part cancelled/scaled back, if the delta variant situation keeps expanding, or another variant gives equal cause for concern.1 point

I have already heard back from MSV who are happy to support the club. No discount for individual days, but as before 5+ people and we will get a discount. I am hopefull that we wont have to send money between ourselves anymore, for the first 5 drivers anyway and i will be able to set up a direct discount with my point of contact. They are also happy to support either a full exclusive track hire numbers permitting etc and a slightly more affordable westfield only session as part of a sessioned day. i know this does not appeal to all but would be a stepping stone to a full day. more updates as i get them coming back from TDO cheers Simon1 point
