  1. Thank you for my presents, cards, balloon, banners, candles, it's has been just wonderful and I felt very special. Extra thank you to @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO. Thank you to ALL of you for joining me in my celebration of being 50. Love to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. Even Rita got balloons, she thought she was a wedding car 11 cars, plus Simon, Michelle and little Olivia came to say hello, she had her own toy racing car. After breakfast we went a run around the peaks. Everyone was busy with the football so with the quiet roads we got a free run up the Elton Esses and Crowdecote Simon wore a nice warm hat NOBODY IS SAFE All I can say is that it was not me. May I introduce you to the Peak District's very own BUMPER DUMPER The frolicks carried on at The Bull I Thorn as we parked up and went for lunch Parking Motorbike engined cars parked separately Andrew offered me his black pudding, thank you And then promptly sat on the floor by mistake, shame the camera was still switched on We could rename Bagpuss......u for an i A brilliant day out in our wonderful cars on these cracking roads, what a great club this is provide a platform to bring all this together on this forum. Thank you everyone.

  2. @SteveH used to do a great coordination job on the trackday front for the club and the back office staff for the club feel it may be worth another go/experiment. So from myself putting my hand up earlier in the week, I will now be taking up the role of trackday coordinator/liaison/advisor for the club. This is not to stop/take over any of the current organised events between club members but to try and add further value to a growing group of Westfield club members. I will establish a single point of contact with many of the large Track day organisers and manage where possible the discount code for the club or further discount for large numbers 10+. I would also like to try and get a couple more official club days together, but this will all depend on the members support. I would like to offer support to novices who would like to dip there toe into trackdays, I often see new members say general touring Westfield with a couple of trackdays a year, these are the people i would really like to help. As starting out for your first couple of day would be much easier with the support at the curcuit from other members. Finally I will be the contact for flags, gazebo etc to be booked in and out, that would like to be used at trackdays. It would be great to get some more publicity for the club at these days and hopefully adding a little more off track organisation will help. I will be looking at some dates of days throughout the rest of the year and start the tdo liaison over the next couple of weeks. There is a great core group of friendly track day goers in the club and it has been slowly growing in the last couple of years. A few more would make club only days more viable and the first bonus of that is no clio's to deal with ๐Ÿ˜. Many thanks Simon.

  4. Early start, over Dunkery Hill to Porlock for a coffee stop then back home via Lynton mostly B roads to avoid the traffic, around 160 miles and 4.5 hours driving. Photo stop at Dunkery Hill looking towards Minehead/Watchet.

  5. Early start this morning to meet @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO before everyone turned up. Since owning a Westfield, there seems to be a theme of me meeting people in secluded car parks ๐Ÿ˜‚

  8. Another good turnout and a great run round- the extra pink device fastened to my car didn't survive the journey home. It broke loose and started bouncing on the boot lid. So a stop to remove was required. I leave others to post up the pics of it: Sorry you had to arrange your own birthday run! We all enjoyed it, thank @Julie Hall - Peak District AO

  11. Another great day! Very impressive watching Andrew commando roll off the picnic table at lunch, without even loosing so much as a single bean from his cooked breakfast. A good turnout too, eleven cars I think? And the Ian gave his bumper-dumper a test drive out!

  15. I know everyone had a great time at this event but just to let everyone know that we also raised ยฃ100 for the WSCC charities! Mostly from all the participants but additionally a substantial donation from two of our long standing Warks members, Dave and Val Preston. I've donated ยฃ50 to each, Make a Wish and the Air Ambulance, through the WSCC just giving pages. Thanks to all, Martyn

  18. Hi Simon Iโ€™ve been pretty absent in recent years and I think Andy (Pugwash) has kind of stepped in a bit with suggesting a few dates but if the club are ready to give it a push again thatโ€™s great! I donโ€™t own a Westie any more having sold last year but I do have a new toy that isnโ€™t a Clio so hopefully Iโ€™ll get to tag along on an event some time :-)

  20. Have a great day and some cake ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚ Wishing the 'Queen of cake' @Julie Hall - Peak District AO a very happy birthday. p.s. Happy 95th to Lizzy too. 50 may be seen as a peak to some, however I'm sure you'll carry on living life to the full for many more years! For those envious of your cake fuelled life, here's a sample of what's required to earn such portions: NB The above image hasn't been edited, yes Glen is in the driving seat! About to ride, the 'slower' Rita! You made my 50th a very special and memorable day, though I'm sure all will agree, you're more suited to dresses than me! From your 'Peaky family', we're immensely grateful to the time and effort you put into making our Peaky blats, such completely great days out. A clear measure of this is how far people travel to join in!

  25. Great to see someone take up the role. Maybe slightly bias as my car isn't road legal. But I hope you can get enough members to make club days viable. As there a great way for new members to make new friends.

  27. If you're buying from Amazon, they calculate it all and include it, but if you're buying from a 3rd party seller on amazon, it's up to you to figure it out. It's the same way for those of us in Ireland ordering from the UK. From the stuff I've ordered in the last 6 months, Amazon are definitely the easiest with how they handle it. The thing to keep in mind though is that although you're paying EU VAT, you won't be charged any UK VAT. For used items that doesn't help, but if you're a seller of new things to the EU, or buying from the EU into the UK, it's just different VAT rates with basically the same net result. It gets more expensive when the couriers are calculating the VAT charges, because they often charge an "admin fee" just for calculating the VAT. I've seen this come in as much as โ‚ฌ125 for them to determine something was zero VAT rated. Amazon, and this new Ebay system avoid these problems.

  30. Very jealous, the A39 (when it's quiet) from Porlock to Linton and the B roads around Exmoor are some of the best roads in the country in my humble opinion. Stunning car too ๐Ÿ˜

  32. The above is the first part of section 8 Nuisance, which covers emissions, and was the pre-existing legislation. This is not overuled by the newer legislation below that applies to newer kit cars only. I might add that if a test station is refusing to test a vehicle that they are clearly approved to test, you can complain/appeal this as they must have a valid reason to refuse. Clearly, the fact that they do not understand the rules is not a valid reason and could land them in trouble with DVSA.
