Great news mate, @Andy83, @jumbojack and myself will be meeting @HB46443 somewhere (probably near Atherstone) to convoy down on Saturday. I'm planning going the back roads down from Atherstone through to Balsall Common if you want to meet up along the way? If not, we'll see you there ๐2 points

Looks great. You may want to check the nearside wing is properly attached, looks to be a bolt missing. Given the speeds you can hit it may try to undress itself......2 points

Hello everyone! After spending most of lockdown drooling over a number of 7 style cars, joining a bunch of Facebook groups and test-driving a couple of MKs, I finally bit the bullet, sold my Motorbike and a mint MX5, that I had used for the odd track day, and purchased a SEIW from another member of this forum a couple of months ago. With it being nearly 300 miles away, I did something that I have never done before and bought the car without even seeing it, mad really but after some really good conversations with the previous owner the deposit was paid and transport via Shiply was sorted. The car is in need of some love, but I really enjoy working on them when I get a chance and see this as a long term relationship where I can spend winters tidying her up and summers getting the buzz you can only get from a 7. The car is running a C20LET with just under 290bhp, which is probably crazy for a first 7 but if you're going to have a mid-life crisis, do it properly is what I say! ๐ I've bought the ECU interface cable, which has already helped me identify a faulty TPS (which I manage to fix) and I'm in the process of stopping the fuel tank from wanting to wiggle its way out of the boot, but with two tiny kids in the house, I appreciate any excuse to lock myself away in the garage when I can! I do have some stationary coolant/heating issues which I'm hoping isn't anything more sinister than a radiator/thermostat/piping issue, but more on that later I'm sure. I've done about 100 miles so far, but with the weather now getting much better I'm looking forward to some longer runs and really getting some heat into the tyres! I've included a picture of my wife in the car, smiling away before I took her out for the first time ๐ I'm based in Hythe in Kent, I'd be interested in hearing from and meeting members local to me as lockdown starts easing ๐1 point

Second Astra Zeneca jab today, celebratory G+T in hand. Couple of paracetamol in as advised by jabber, ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐1 point

Well, at the most basic level, it is.... There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of immunology books which can add additional layers of detail. After a 33 year career in immunology with the National Blood Service I've owned quite a few of those texts or perhaps i read it in the Beano once, who knows....... Anyway, time for a beer....๐บ๐บ Hopefully you wont experience any adverse symptoms...๐1 point

Had my 2nd AZ the other week. I pre-dosed with Paracetamol but had almost zero response to the jab this time anyway. Just a very slight tender spot at the site of the jab. 1st one gave a tender arm for a week, a day of lethargy and a bit of a headache. For the record, my reasons for having the jab were probably 50/50 selfish/selfless. I donโt want to catch it and have a bad reaction any more than Iโd want to give it to anyone else. Iโm pretty much a recluse at the best of times anyway, so this whole deal is largely passing me by. The only impact has been very first-world, I had a holiday cancelled and a couple of events I might have attended havenโt taken place. Iโve not lost anyone as thereโs almost nobody left in my family anyway, Iโm retired so no work to disrupt other than some occasional work I used to do for my former employer....that I was on the verge of swerving anyway. Iโm well aware that I have been very fortunate. I simply donโt understand where people who wonโt have the jab are coming from though. Honestly, I just donโt get how they think. My uncleโs โpartnerโ is one of these. She โdoesnโt believe in that sort of thingโ. One can only assume that she thinks the entire global community of healthcare professionals and sciences are in league and that all illnesses & treatments are a scam of some kind. Oddly, she seems OK with vets treating her animals though. I canโt see an issue with compulsory vaccination for those in healthcare either. I was obliged to have jabs for hepatitis when I worked in the NHS, wasnโt an issue. Hard to imagine anyone in that line if work not being front and centre for a jab ASAP TBH1 point

Symptoms are nothing to do with antibodies as I understand it. It has been noted that for Pfizer/BionTech recipients, reactions to the second dose can be worse that for the first. AZ is noted to be the opposite.1 point

Hello, I've had my new (1992 Sei) Westfield for about a month now and though I'd try and use it as my daily driver for the past week or so. The weather co-operated and, whilst mostly working from home this week, I had a few trips to do around Kent. What a great week of driving it has been. I've lost count of the number of waves, thumbs ups and smiles I've had whilst pootling about the countryside. I took my partners daughter out last weekend and picked my son up from school this afternoon, both very happy children enjoying the noise and managing not to burn themselves on the exhaust on the way out. I've had conversations about the car with absolute strangers in car parks, petrol stations anywhere I happened to stop. What a sociable little thing it is ! Even having to swop the front callipers didn't dampen the mood. I wish I'd bought one ages ago, its the perfect antidote to the last year. Marc1 point

A most really good day out, well done Martyn and Sue, or should I say it was more than bl**** good. But I must say that I have heard the lead singer of Lynard Skinayd said that the holy trinity is: "Harley Davidsons; Girls in Bikinis; and good Ole rock and roll." Maybe this should be corrected to read the holy trinity is. "High Performance Sports Cars; A Load of Mates; And a Good Ole Race Track" Just saying. Love you All1 point

Thank you for all the lovely messages both public and private, it makes it all worthwhile xxx. Let's hope the good committee of this club can take action to support the AO's and we can have lots more of these enjoyable days out uniterrupted. Big thank you to Ian and Bill for rounding up the rear. Quackers is proving to be a perfect meeting point, we had 18 cars in total. The seating area, service and food are all excellent. Competitive cake comparisons The car park holds all our cars well Luke wore the magnet with pride. He now has 2 track days and today's run out without incident under his belt so it was time to hand it back. What a great sense of humour you guys have. Scott was getting worried, Rob suggested we might swap the magnet for a sponge, let's see! Next we took to the road, straight off the big main roads and on to the quiet back roads, blissfully empty all the way. Front row seat Keeping 18 cars together was always going to be difficult and I could not have done it without the help of Bill and Ian but we got there and it all worked out. We arrived at The Bull I Thorn where Chris and Mo, and Luke and Gemma were waiting for us. Again this is a great establishment with food, service and car parking just right. Someone had a club sandwich and a coffee and forgot to pay, so if it was you then please can you send the money to Rob, it is easily done and isn't the first time, I wish they would take the money on ordering. The Bull I Thorn Garys Zetec engined MEV and the Andy's Tiger on show with us and always welcome, I just wish the Cobra could have made it. Glynn's car is the new grey one on the left and it caused quite a stir, the modern colouring and styling was admired a lot. Eat, drink and be merry, just like we used to before lockdown Emma, this is what your husband and son, Scott and Charlie, get up to in your absence Followed by this The 3 wise monkeys lurking in the background, speak no, see no and Luke laughing The 2 Andrews got the largest portions, it must be in the name, so if you are hungry just call yourself Andrew and you might get the same treatment. Luke joyfully handed the magnet back to me, so I am caretaking it, BE WARNED, it's hot, hot, hot for you Everyone went off on their long journey's home, leaving Andrew and us looking at the big orange thing in the sky, only one thing for it....more cake...so off we went to the Blue Lagoon at The Stone Centre. Home made cheesecake anyone? That also meant a drive down the Via Gellia and a pose through Matlock Bath on the way home, great finish. You have all driven miles to come today and I hope you have enjoyed it as much as we have, thank you for your effort and support, hope to see you all again soon. Not next weekend though as we are on holiday.1 point

What a great day again thanks Julie the route was fantastic. It was great to meet everyone and chat. Really happy that yesterday's comments didn't spoil everyone's day. Organising 18 cars and staying together is hard work and thanks to Ian and Billy in assisting today. Sue says thanks for the Rolos. Thanks again for a great day and you are what makes this club great. Keep doing what your doing.1 point

Ali and I had a great day. Thanks too those that organised it all, we found the mix of people, cars, the drive out and food stops a perfect blend. Was great too meet some fellow owners. Iโve been a member of various car and bike clubs over the years, and can honestly say, that this one tops them all. We shall return! Cheers, Ian & Ali.1 point

I had Coronavirus six weeks or so before taking the jab, it contributed, in all likelihood to making me quite ill for a few days afterwards. In theory, just having had the infection would have given me, personally, a good amount of protection against further infection. I had the jab because I wanted to do what I could to protect friends family and people Iโve never met nor never will. I took it to protect you, and just like I would fight tooth and nail to protect your and everyone elseโs right to choose, and to speak openly, even if I do find what you say repellant. There comes a time when we do what we do for others, because the world needs to. Not just shrug cynical shoulders and pretend weโre above it all.1 point
