  1. Meet at Thornbridge Hall, Baslow Road, Ashford-in-the-Water, DE45 1NZ at 10am on Saturday. QUACKERS CAFE. After a catch up there will be a run round before stopping for lunch and finishing early afternoon. All members welcome and, as ever, if the weather forecast changes dramatically from the current 'light cloud' then I will review the situation. Who is joining us?

  2. I've sat on the grid waiting for the green flag lap and its started snowing before I've also managed to hang onto the back of a Spire GT in torrential rain and come second overall, oh and stuffed it in the barriers!

  5. Im my haste/excitement on buying some race gear, I overlooked the fact that I already own two pair of FIA Alpinestars and Sparco race boots and now have some OMP ones as well, but only two feet! I am selling the Sparco Slalom size 10.5 FIA boots as they are never worn, only tired on in the house when I bought them a few years ago. I both both pairs at the same time to see which were best and kept them both. Photos will be added when my Mac decides to talk to the cloud. £55 posted.

  6. Not too bad! It rained a lot but I’d prepped for that and to prove it wore the same trousers to the pub!

  11. Well that's complete bull. The main reason I'm happy to take the jab is to add an additional layer of protection for my elderly relatives.

  12. Youve missed my point Chris. I wasn't comparing them it's impossible. I was comparing the fact that we as a society turn a blind eye to the tens of thousands of lives lost to it, similar to how you just have by saying "Well it's been going on forever". Yet we vilify those who dare to have an alternate view on vaccines as stupid, selfish and we shouldnt prioritise them.

  13. At what point did I even remotely suggest that? My point is over 70000 people die yearly from smoking related disease in the UK alone. Every year. Yes it's discouraged, highly taxed etc but we don't ban it, we don't make smokers pay for NHS treatment or give priority to non smokers. We just accept its a personal choice and allow smokers to get on with it. Yet even a sniff of someone having an alternative viewpoint on a covid vaccine and people start suggesting that we should restrict them, lessen their priority for treatment etc. It just doesn't sit right with me. I am pro vaccination. But I am not so one-eyed to completely discount the viewpoints of the younger generations especially when it's backed up by the serious illness/mortality statistics.

  14. bl**** hell have we been moved into China Where do you stop with that attitude though? Smoking kills you and harms those around you, drink, drugs, fast bikes, racing cars etc etc. Slippery slope with that kind of view.

  15. But that argument is flawed when all of those other diseases are FAR worse than the vaccination. For those under 40 you can't say that for covid cases. Even the governments advisors have determined the AZs risk vs reward ratio for that age group is not great. Like I said I'm not trying to start a debate and I do think it's a little off of people to start calling people for having a choice as stupid.
