  1. Winter tinkering scope-creep This was originally going to be "fit flared side panels" and it's morphed into a complete body-off respray

  2. But that argument is true for most vaccines. People complain of flu like symptoms after a flu jab. But the flu jab is inert, just like the Covid vaccine, and the flu vaccine is only about 40% effective. The "suffering" is the immune system calling the bodies defences to learn what to do, just like we all do when we get a cold. The point is that suffering caused by the effects of a vaccine is not transmissible, other than telling others about it. Change Covid for Smallpox, or Measles or Polio or Hepatitis or Diptheria or Whooping Cough or TB (we all had a BCG, right?) and only a fool would argue that side effects of a vaccine rather than effects of an actual disease are any sort of argument against vaccination. Man up... The BCG was sodding painful, but I still have both my lungs. And as for the tracker, I'm betting most of those people have mobile phones and Facebook accounts and use shops and cash machines. Sadly there's no vaccine for stupidity.

  3. Don’t forget, being vaccinated isn’t just about reducing the likely severity if you should get it, it’s also about reducing transmission rates, too.

  5. Hi, New member here, looking forward to getting out an meeting up as things are easing. Not a novice as such, been around motorsport and various projects for a number of years but this is my first Westy, so gone large with a V8! 😁

  6. Another tick on my bucket list! However I also ticked the express box by mistake so it turned up within 3 days but at additional cost before I realised, novice error there! Finalising my bundle with @Hawkemotorsport and then I’ll be good to go. Sometimes you just have to give yourself a push, or you would sit and say ‘I wish I had tried’

  8. there's a place in Scotland not far from knockhill called SITECH, not to be confused with Siltech, hes running a westfield and is a pretty good prep business, ex F1 chassissis engineer, ask for Simon Smails say mark mentioned him

  9. Hello Gents. We are after a basic track dedicated westfield (or a track focussed roadgoing one). Car or bike engine. -In case of bike engine, a 2008+CBR1000 or 5vy+R1 engine preferred. -In case of car engine. H pattern gearbox and a Zetec/Duratec/C20xe on ITBs. Circa 200hp. MUST BE FULLY CAGED. Ideally must have a decent cooling system (will be tracked in Spain very often) The car is for a beguinner so we are not after "the ultimate machine" but something simple to mantain, safe and reliable. Not after projects, car has to be good to go (or nearly). Budget, circa 12k, streachable if the car is right. Non registered cars welcome.

  10. Yeah I've seen a couple of those. The engineering and technology is interesting but the end result is as you say, less practical than the original in just about every way. I was discussing EV's with a friend (yes, I have one) and it wasn't until I explained that my trips to a town just over the Belgian border in Holland would take 2 days as opposed to the current 8 - 9 hours that he started to see the inadequacies of all electric vehilces. I'm sure it wil limprove, but will they really get to be as convenient as petrol or hydrogen? Seems unlikely to me. For commuting/short journey trips in tows and cities to mitigate pollution then yes, electric all the way. For going to see the folks in Cornwall or Scotland for the weekend, not so much... They did. It was pretty quick too and even with the standard tank had heaps more range than even the most modern EV 7 might be able to muster at the moment.

  11. But that argument is flawed when all of those other diseases are FAR worse than the vaccination. For those under 40 you can't say that for covid cases. Even the governments advisors have determined the AZs risk vs reward ratio for that age group is not great. Like I said I'm not trying to start a debate and I do think it's a little off of people to start calling people for having a choice as stupid.

  14. Hi Vasil, I have a spare pair of side screens I’d be happy to sell and I’ll be coming to the Isle of Wight on the 23rd if you’re interested in them? Let me know? cheers, Richard

  15. I don't want to start a debate on this but look at it from a younger person's view. Take a vaccine that may give you side effects (some potentially dangerous) vs a virus that you might not even notice you'd had. I've had 4 friends of a similar age who've had covid. 3 were asymptomatic 1 had a cough for a few days. 2 others have had their 1st dose vaccine. 1 ended up in bed ill for a few days the other was fine. Agree though if your over a certain age the rewards far outweigh the risks. **just to add I'm by no means an anti vaxxer and will go and get mine when called, just sayin there's 2 sides to a coin**

  16. I honestly don’t understand why anyone in their right mind would refuse the vaccine? Unless you’re medically unable or concerned about the nano-bots they are injecting* then it’s a no brainier really? *wearing a tin foil hat will help with that though.
