  1. Firstly welcome to a new member - @JamesGN Good to meet you and co-driver Chris and hopefully we didn't scare you off and will see you at more trips out soon. After Saturdays deluge a promptly arranged little gathering took place today at the stunning Petwood Hotel in Woodhall Spa. Shame we could not go in and enjoy seeing the memorabilia from the 617 squadron but this is the effect of COVID restrictions. This hotel was the officers mess for the famous Dambusters. The hotel are serving meals (and cake) under a tent in the restored gardens so a table was booked to ensure we had a dry place to gather. First to arrive was @AndyMM. Big smile on his face and he had clearly enjoyed his drive from Cleethorpes. Something about getting back in a Westy after various lockdowns. Next was the newbees - @JamesGN in his lovely green Toybox car that he had bought in January - good timing! Cake - yes - just a little - but Clare ate it all - we didn't get a look in - honestly. As it was meant to be a quick coffee as @JamesGN was 'out for an hour', we parted and went our separate ways. Short but sweet (the cakes were apparently) Hopefully restrictions will ease soon and the weather might become a little more predictable

  4. Good to finally put some names to faces.....its tricky meeting fellow Westy owners when I'm the numpty having to ride my bike there with nothing to show......it will be ready.....at some point🤔 My daughter (Lilly) and I had a interesting ride home along tow path...her last words were "Dad, I am doing 12mph" (she is only just eight) followed by crash, bang wallop and at this point the stinging nettles clearly won🙈

  5. Hi all, I've just emailed the details about next weekends meet: While we need to wait for the 17th May for full official meets a few local members are planning a little drive on Sunday 9th May. Carlie (from A-Plan Insurance) has suggested a place called Podium Place Cafe which is a coffee shop with car showroom and plenty of parking near Newbury. Up to 6 could meet at The Bird In Hand, RG10 9UP at 12:00 then head over for arrival around 13:00. If there were to be more than 6 then they could meet in the South Car Park and depart at a slightly later time. Those that prefer can go directly to the cafe, RG14 5SH https://podiumplace.co.uk/

  6. Hi All, I have just purchased my first kit car, a 2009 Westfield SIEW with 2.0 Zetec black top on Jenvey throttle bodies. I will have lots of questions so apologies in advance Based just outside Plymouth. Looking forward to tinkering and making the car my own Dave

  8. OK, I realise that this might not be to everyone's taste, or even many people's. Bought as a birthday present last December I only got to use it in the Westfield for the first time yesterday morning. 6:15 am and 2 degrees C. For the last 6 or 7 years I've used a variety of beanie hats, the better, warmest ones bought from "Guy Martin Proper" on-line shop. Anyway as I don't really care what I look like so long as I'm warm I ordered this from "greycar" (link below). My god, it's like having central heating for your head. The neck flap makes a difference too. Not cheap but then it is a very well-made quality item even if I do look like Chubby Brown's grandad. Just thought I'd share my findings. https://www.greycar.com/product/long-neck-bomber-sheepskin-flying-helmet/

  10. Yeah but they don’t use the same class system as Blyton 😛 edit - note to self “read the entire thread and especially the first post BEFORE asking dumb questions”

  11. Ok got the licence renewed. @Terry Everall - WSCC Competition Secretary where do I go to actually sign up for the SS and enter Blyton? Maybe I’m going mad but can’t see any obvious links on the forum to entry forms anywhere? EDIT: scratch that realise it’s not on here, it’s on the WSCC website 🙄 (now you realise why I lost the webmaster job 🤣) note for @Quinten Uijldert - Webmaster not sure why but there’s no direct link to the ”store” listings in the navigation bar (on my iPhone) - hence why I couldn’t find the SS entry link

  14. Hi everyone, after many years of looking, thinking and pondering I have finally pulled the trigger and bought my first Westfield. She’s called Meg, is and sei with a dunnel 2.0 16v zetec and I’m in love! I’m looking forward to when restrictions lift and getting out for some proper drives and meeting lots of like minded folk regards, Andy

  15. Another compliment for A-plan. Thanks to Mark for helping me sort out a recent claim. After I had been let down the authorised repairer at very short notice Mark made a special arrangement with the underwriter to get the repair done by another company and made sure I was reimbursed quickly.
