  1. SUPER SUNDAY 😃 Suns out left at 9.30 and just home , had a blast into town to pick up some gearbox oil then took the single track road to Pluscarden abbey home to Benedictine monks had a wee wander around the grounds along all the back roads I know ( and a couple I didn’t lol ) round the back of Raffird and Forres then onto Lochindorb where I met John and Katrina out for a jolly, finding a secluded wee parking spot I sat in the sun at the edge of the loch with what has to be one of the best views in the world and had my sannies, cake and cuppa and watched the wildlife and enjoyed the tranquility of it all. Then it was on and up Glenferness to Dulnain bridge the main road around Grantown then peeled off to the Brig o broon left passed Tomintoul distillery and on to Bridge end before a wee spirited blast down the Glen home Hope you enjoy the pics

  3. Hello, I’m Dylan, from Caernarfon, North Wales. After weeks of looking, and several months of wanting, I’ve finally bought my first Westfield. I’ve been rallying for a number of years, in 206 Cup Car, Clio Cup, 205 Gti etc, but decided it was time to buy a more of a toy to enjoy rather than a car to race around track and the Isle Of Man. Anyway, after a nice drive yesterday, I came home with this beauty. I’m sure you will recognise the car.

  4. I experienced the Westfield in all its glory today. Drove out with only a small amount of thought as to where to go. Driving through village after village. Taking in the scenery and waving to like mined owners, also gaining their slice of this beautiful day. Then it happened! Pulling away from a junction onto what was experienced as smooth & twisty road. The sound sun & handling produced an emotion I will remember for quite sometime.. All the best HB46443

  6. Great evening run out, 70 miles up the Llanberis Pass to Betws y Coed for some fish and chips and then back down the Nant Peris Pass below Snowden - good test of my Mintex pads

  10. after the mid week issue of stiff steering and pulling brakes a rebuild was done, which was finished this afternoon. so i thought it rude not to test it all out, all back to normal again. a quick park up in the local park, river wyre in the background of first pic.

  11. I've got one of those 'on-load' battery testers that's like an electric fire on fat jump leads. Not many half-dead batteries survive that!

  12. They just refunded my tenner so I presume it wasn't in stock at my local store after all. Probably just as well

  15. Drove out to the park today. Charlotte and Pooh Bears first time in the yellow toy car. Had a nice drive, play in the park for 90 mins, swung by grandma and grandads and then home for a BBQ and played kerby with our neighbours. Happy times! 😎

  16. As @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary says, avoid. It’s another too good to be true. I will let you guess at my thoughts on this one. The story has a happy ending though, I replaced the banner with a competitively priced AGM gel (£92 delivered) from Tayna. Very pleased. The engine leaps into life. Spinning over so much quicker than the Banner ever did ( I have only owned this westie from Jan 2020). I have no affiliation with Tayna, just pleased with replacement. https://www.tayna.co.uk/motorcycle-batteries/exide/agm12-31/ Andy

  17. Hi Dylan, I live in Penmaenmawr and got my FW registered in Nov last year so after all the lockdowns I’m enjoying the Snowdonia passes and often passing through Caernarfon. Hope to see you on the road sometime soon.

  21. I am good thanks and you are always welcome. I haven’t done much apart from strip it down down. Now it’s in bits there is lots I want to do but I haven’t been very motivated to get it started!! This weather is making me wish I had been busier in Winter but have spent the weekend varnishing windows!!! Outside work at least.

  24. Yep, these batteries seem to have brought out the very worst side of Halfords customer service. They seriously wanted Andy to drive to the next town, Congleton, (where it was bought), return it, then drive to Crewe to pick up the replacement. Andy took it direct to Crewe, but turned out they didn’t have any after all. I think they actually suggested he drive to the Newcastle branch at this point!! Personally I’d recommend everyone runs as far away from this offer as possible! It’s unlikely to end well. The real problem will be if they realise and finally bung them on chargers. They will appear fully charged and OK if you check them at collection. But will fail way earlier than they should, and won’t have the capacity they should have, either.

  26. @Bandageman - the date stamp is in the oval section - here The date stamp used to be just four digits, but some manufacturers (like Toyo) use a longer set of digits (which can include letters as well as numbers). Regardless, it's always the last three or four digits you need to look for - in this instance, 2318 to denote the 23rd week (early June) 2018

  27. Well done on your purchase. You live in a great location too with miles of Westfield-friendly North Wales B roads to play on. Im looking forward to getting back there for some more epic drives myself soon once @CosKev stops playing with his spanners. what spec is the car?

  28. I use A.Plan Mark. You have to go through Thatcham branch though. Cover for theft and damage of car,(not on track obviously) trailer and spares including away from home ie travelling to events.
