  1. As promised, here's a photo of my car shortly after it was taken out of storage. Compared to many it's quite a traditional [style] car but that probably reflects its owner...

  2. As a new member, thought I ought to start off with a quick 'hi' type post. I've been a Westfield owner (SEi Wide, 2l Zetec) for about 20 years but due to 'life' the car has been stored for the last few years. Now however, the re-commissioning is proceeding rapidly - well, when I say "rapidly" I mean; errrr reasonably quickly .....probably I'm based not too far from Matlock and I see some club runs use the Sainsbury's car park as a start point - hopefully in the not too distant future I'll be able to meet some of you all and enjoy a zoom around. Cheers, Richard

  4. SOLD Westfield Zetec for Sale ยฃ13,500 Black FW body with the V8 Bonnet. 2010 factory build with 3200 miles on the clock. 2.0 Zetec on standard throttle body. 150bhp Standard width suspension, open diff and Lowered floors 4 previous owners Comes with loads of paperwork, a tonneau cover and doors. MOT due 21/06/21 I bought the car before Xmas and spent the winter re-commissioning it. I have driven a few times as the weather has got better and honestly....it's just not fast and scary enough for me! Rather than spend a load more money modifying what is a really, really nice road car, it seems the best option is to sell this and buy something more suitable for my needs. Here's a list of the works I have completed over the winter: 4x new Yokohama AD08RS tyres New OMP Kubic steering wheel and 50mm steering boss. (standard wheel included) Full brake bleed New Mintex M1144 front brake pads Engine oil and filter Fuel filter Fuel pipe replacement - tank vent breather and tank to pump pipe. Door strap repair New NGK Plugs New Magnecor 8mm leads All new aluminium cooling pipes Coolant system flush New wipers New LED headlight bulbs (Phillips Ultinon Pro9000) New Clear indicator lenses and orange bulbs Mudflap extensions Latest OMEX engine management software New crank case breather adaptor and pipes New Motamec breather tank and custom bracket New exhaust manifold gasket and exhaust studs New Steering column bushes K&N filter clean and re-oil Deep clean of the chassis rails under the bonnet and under the boot box The only thing left on my list would be new cycle wings as there are some cracks around the bolt holes on these. ยฃ13,500 ONO The car is ready to go for the summer. Thanks for looking Barry 07834 834831

  5. Have booked onto this one with want2race. It's a birthday present / bucket list thing from my family. It's an expensive day, but there aren't many on the GP circuit. Also the noise is a bit tight, so I'm not expecting throngs of fellow trackdayers. Has to be done at least once though.. and I'm running out of time. ๐Ÿ˜‰ https://www.want2race.co.uk/trackdays/19th-august-2021--track-day--2021-08-19 Brands GP circuit Thursday 19 Aug Open pitlane 101db static 92db drive by ยฃ595

  6. Hi chaps some of you may recall me from the early days on here , not been around here for I think 8 years not sure where that time has gone likely the same place as my hair and 6 pack never to be seen again. Anyway 8 years ago I sold my last 7 to go and race tin tops and thought I was done with that episode but last year I made a return and built myself another 7 to do Trackdays sadly with the covid carry on didn't really get out to use it much but hoping to make up for lost time and get out on track . 10. @Andrew I've changed class and now run in A2 up to 2 litres saloons and silhouettes, a tough class for a 1 litre buzz bomb, but lets me run slicks- which i don't! but from a safety point of view lets me run race wets, which I do F3 fronts all round

  12. Hi there. Im James from Loughborough in Leicestershire. Been lurking a week or so just trying to learn a bit more about westfields before I make a purchase. Ive decided to get back to basics car wise and the westfield certainly ticks that box. Im coming from an audi RS6 so slightly different ha . Loved it but really felt the need for a car more involving for weekend fun and something that I can work on myself. Hopefully look to get a car over the next month or so cheers James

  13. Good morning im new to the group and also wetsfield ownership so very green . saying that i have jumped into the deep end and not too great at swimming yet so hope the group can help me out on this journey "and mid life crisis" i have purchased a 1993 seight that has been used in the past as a track day toy by its former owners. the car has a recently new engine fitted that is 4.6litre JE engineering based on a holley carb and running t5 gearbox. as you can imagine its very interesting to drive." as most of my other cars are diesel powered .vans and landrovers . it needs some tlc in places but is all on the road and running , the plan is to run and enjoy it this summer then in the winter put her on the ramp and do all the jobs to put my stamp on the car .(new paint ,etc ) but for now i just want to tinker and enjoy my new toy ..

  15. Hi Richard, Welcome to the club. You are right, we are a lot more active in this area nowadays and often meet up at Matlock, so it will be great for you to join the club and us when you can. Oh groan, you have swept wings, my husband, Glen, loves the swept wings look, he will be crooning over your car when he sees it. The dark colouring will polish up lovely too. Hope to see you and your car soon, Julie

  20. Hi All, Iโ€™m new to Westfield ownership and have recently purchased my narrow bodied xflow and so far loving it. when the restrictions allow, I would be keen to know where the best meets and shows are to learn off of like minded enthusiasts. Are there any local to Southampton/Portsmouth way? thanks Moody.

  25. Mine were pretty much plug & play... I think I had to cut the connectors off the old set and reconnect to the new. I had my first MoT in November 2020..... no issues.

  28. Welcome James! I'm also in Loughborough. I'll second what Rob says: let us know if there's anything you want to know/see/discuss, all in a responsible manner of course ๐Ÿ™‚. A Westfield will certainly be a different proposition to an RS6 ๐Ÿ˜
