  3. If I may quote from the sales and conditions post, stickied at the top of this section: "Dibs" are notorious for causing confusion and arguments, and over the years is one main constant that gets the complaints, after thread drifts, in the sales section. Please, please, if you NEED to go away and check something, and we often do, PM the seller, tell them the situation, and ask if they're happy to hold the item while you check. The answer is often yes, but please, don't "block" the thread, then if it's not suitable for you, they can move on to the next possible buyer. We're a friendly bunch, but the dibs thing does really confuse many people.

  6. Hi. Owned the car for 12 months but only just joined the forum. It’s a 1700 crossflow running on twin 40s.

  8. Cheers Craig. The cars red so couldn't go yellow as I'd look like a McDonald's 🤦‍♂️ Looking for a newish red or black set ideally. Thanks

  9. Probably because someone said I couldn't have dibs and said they would have it. I went away and did my check spoken to another member and now have what I was after for free. Meanwhile you have been messed around by @Rob R1 and lost out on a sale when I just needed to check something.

  13. Hi Dave, Welcome to the club. That looks like a great car for you to enjoy, hopefully you will share your enjoyment with us in the Peak District. I always post up our activities in the Events section (as Ian mentioned earlier, thanks Ian). I am struggling with the rule of 6 at the moment so I am organising outings on a more personal level temporarily. Hope to see you soon, Julie

  14. What a cracking car this is. The perfect all-rounder IMO! Weirdly Smeg and I bought our first Westies the same weekend, and had a few of the same cars on our viewing lists! The fact I've had 3 more since is fairly telling of how well this one has been cherished and improved over the years. I hope we'll still have you in the club in a different Westy, Dave!

  17. If you haven't already done so it'd be worth sketching out your plan and then working out what connection sizes you have and therefore what you'll need to join them. Put the drawing on here too and it might prove easier for us to assist you.

  21. ...is it a genuine Bosch 044, rather than an equivalent? (Some of the equivalents have different size end fittings) A genuine pump is usually M18x1.5 for the inlet port, and M12x1.5 on the outlet. Have you got an anti-reversion valve on the outlet, before the banjo fitting? (They don't always come with them). It's not absolutely necessary, but stops the pressurised fuel draining quickly back through the pump when you turn the engine off, and helps maintain line pressure while running.

  36. In fairness watching that, Chris clearly hadn’t moved over (these things happen) - the guy was outside the track limits forcing his way through. He should’ve been patient when I’m sure a clear signal to go past would have been given on the next straight... it’s a track day not a race!

  41. I'm contemplating a change of Westfield. This is initial notification & I will update this thread with further details/corrections and photos when able as time permits. Factory built in 2000, then improved over the years. This one has been a brilliant all-rounder for road blats, touring, track and sprinting in the WSCC speed series. And it's been great for me as a first Westie to experience everything they have to offer. In fact it's been that good I'll have had it 10 years if it's still with me in May, longest keeper ever for any of my vehicles. Hope I don't end up regretting this! Covid and Family issues have meant I've not MOT'ed or given it a 'spring clean' yet this year. After I have I'll take some up to date photos (those teasers below are current spec). Lets get the bad bits over with - It's a 20+ year old kit car so isn't a class winning show car! It has some surface rust to chassis and wishbones which should probably be dealt with in the coming years before it progresses too much further. And the gel coat isn't perfect. Some flaking powder coat on windscreen uprights. It thinks it's a cross flow and has always had slight oil seepage which has never been an issue. Factory built W 2000, SEiW Carbon Ltd Ed No.14 - Full specification: 1.8 zetec with Jenvey throttle bodies, BLiNK Motorsport optimised head & fast road cams Late 2019 full engine inspection by Playskool Motorsport, new leads & coil pack, new DTA ECU - dyno at Chip Wizards (Wayne Schofield) @ 179bhp Petrol swirl pot, no fuel surge and can run a few miles after 20l tank empty Coolex alloy radiator Dunnel shallow sump Simpsons exhaust BHG 5 speed gearbox with long first 7" viscous 3.9 LSD Westfield wide track Adjustable Protec shocks Playskool 'soft' anti roll bars Playskool MSA roll over protection Westfield 1/2 hood Doors JK grp seats Schroth 4 point harnesses Handling set up by CleaR Motorsport aka Adam Read (Well known club set up expert) Removable quick release steering wheel. TBC This is a well known Westfield in WSCC, so if you don’t already know it your sure to know someone who does. It's had plenty of coverage in WSCC Westfield World magazine (these can be seen online in forum) which probably documents it's history with me well and it has featured regularly in the calendar. Price: Good examples of similar spec Westfields appear to be selling for £13k-£14k! So taking into account the 'bad' bits it'll be £12,000 At that it'll be the perfect Westfield and great value for someone. If you know it and think I'm underselling or overselling please PM me for my consideration rather than commenting here. Muchly Ta
