Nice relaxed day for both of us, shakedown day for me after the big changes, had an oil leak from some AN fittings for the dry sump but otherwise fine. Both cars went really well, lots of wrong ‘uns in hot hatches, but generally, got out of the way. I was starting to get wound up by them flying up and down the pit road though! Vids tomorrow hopefully2 points

Been doing td’s for about 15 years. Lightly modified road cars at first. 205 mi16 caged ran slicks on that. 500 bhp skyline powered esc Cosworth. Rwd no driver aids. Most recently a track prepped e46 m3. Did mid 1:40’s in the m. Toyo 888’s no idea of age came with the car. Guessing a couple of years. 18 psi hot.1 point

There was a transponder on my car and the latest gopros can move to focus on it, clever stuff.1 point

Nice driving @Chris King 👍 Is your camera moving in the bends, or is it some kind of image stabilizing effect? .. either way it looks quite cool. 🙂1 point

I had spotted the guy on the chicane and looked in my rear mirror after I went around towards the straight. It then looked like he’d dropped back because I couldn’t see him (on my right rear arch!) but instead thought he was the next car back (if you follow me) Right at the last minute I spotted him and pulled over to let him past. I did find him in the paddock and explained why I didn’t courteously pull over and he just laughed it off.1 point

In fairness watching that, Chris clearly hadn’t moved over (these things happen) - the guy was outside the track limits forcing his way through. He should’ve been patient when I’m sure a clear signal to go past would have been given on the next straight... it’s a track day not a race!1 point

Hope my cage from @Luke Algar is here in time, or I won’t be able to do it on account of selling my RAC Bar! Need to source a fitting for the 044 pump as well or there won’t be much fuel getting pumped 😬1 point

Very unlikely in a normal house, even a small terraced house. Not unheard of, but unlikely. Below is a screen grab of both wifi frequencies and the wifi networks I can "hear" from where I am sitting now. Even though some of them are quite strong, they don't noticably interfere. Worth noting that of the 5Ghz operators, no-one has bothered to move their frequencies. Any signal weaker than 85db (signal strength is an inverse logarithmic scale, the higher the number the weaker the signal) can be ignored. A scan of the channels in use with a free wifi tool like Wifi Analyzer or Wifiman from Ubiquiti (my current favourite) will give a quick and dirty look. Remember that most modern devices use 5.0Ghz frequency. This has both more channels and less range (because the signal is more easily attenuated) than the "traditional" 2.4hz frequency so there is more "room" and more speed on 5Ghz but at the expense of a small bit of signal range. The problem with moving channels is that if the neighbours routers are interfereing (unlikely) and are set to dynamically change channels when they detect interference above the level that will trigger them to search for a less congested frequency, they'll move. So you end up chasing them around all the time. I have never yet found a router or wifi access point, even an enterprise grade device, that manages this "channel hopping" even slightly well. Here are the pics I mentioned. Guess which is my wifi and why did I choose channel 11?1 point

Still got my eye on this, but my car is in bits still & I just can’t find the time to work on it at the moment.1 point

We have converted the integral garage to a bedroom which does have foil backed insulation, but the rest of the house doesn't have it. That's the room that has the q mini box hardwired to the main Q box. This is the lads room that also has issues with gaming. I'm led to believe the q mini should act as a WiFi hot-spot which it does as signal massively improved. But I guess its not enough to keep up. I guess this is a possibility, I think the last time I spoke to sky about it this is what they had me do. Marginal improvement but only temporary.1 point

Last day of the tour starts 30mins up the road 😁 The tour is a bit "maybe" (we have a second one booked as a backup) so I figured dubbya tee eff Edit: last day of the tour tends to be a bit of a not too interesting run home, so I’ll not miss anything by blatting around Knockers with you lot. Plus it’s entirely possible that the tour gets binned but the trackday doesn’t - so I’m hedging my bets!1 point

Welcome from South Derbyshire 👍 Having a few bits falling off now and again is part of the fun so I'm told.... although my particular car has been totally problem free 🤥 😂1 point
