If you remember quite a few months back I posted about if we should bring Zamp Helmets on as a manufacture. Since then we have been in talks with Zamp to try and get some decent terms sorted and we are pleased to say that are now a Zamp dealer. We are only carrying the new Snell SA2020 and FIA8859-2015 helmets. Part of the agreement to the new terms means that I still have to place an initial stocking order in order to supply (which is usual) However in the interest of treading carefully during this pandemic and instead of ordering blindly, I wanted to know if anyone on here is in the market for a Zamp helmet which could help form part of our stocking order with them? If I can get a list of confirmed orders on here for Zamp helmets then I can put together our inital purchase order for the helmets and get them out to you. We are offering a never expiring WSCC discount for Zamp for all WSCC members .. First though, we are offering a one time bigger discount for people than can help us with the initial order. If you are looking to purchase a Zamp helmet with our first PO then please reply to this thread first with what model and size you are after. Then after a week or so, if there are members wanting a Zamp helmet, I will activate the stock on the website and give the go ahead so you can order the helmet of your choice and I will place the order with Zamp all in one hit. You can find all of the Zamp products we will be selling here.. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me on PM or on this thread Cheers everyone1 point

The regs do specify the plates should be on the front and the rear of the vehicle, and the interpretation used by the police/courts, seems to be that also is implicitly the outside of the vehicle. Admitedly being a convertible blurs those lines somewhat, but the position you suggest is inside the vehicle, to all intents ind purposes. Most coppers would probably ignore it, but any luggage in the boot box, use of any sort of hood or half hood etc, and you could see a big fine heading your way if you got an officer in a bad mood! Plus, to my eyes, where you suggest, does kind of make it look like a skip lorry!1 point

Wouldn't have made any difference if we were still in. We acted independently to procure vaccines whilst still in the EU. Any of the EU countries could have done the same. In fact if we were still in, the EU couldn't play the silly childish games in preventing shipments to the UK and we'd arguably have even more vaccinated. Agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment of your post though. They've done very very well with the rollout. These days we only tend to hear of criticism rather than praise. Needs to work both ways.1 point

I saw train in concert a few years ago. Absolutely flawless performance and can't wait to see them again. In truth, I wasn't really bothered about going but the wife is a big fan, so I went along to keep her company. They totally captivated me!1 point

Lovely looking bits of kit. I am told that the helmets are pretty much Bel helmets under a different brand so whatever size Bell fits can be used with these beauties1 point

Down the YT wormhole again, another from Corde Oblique, but this one I CAN understand. Well I am a sucker for a violin.1 point

OK two can play at this game π Floriana Cangiano ( Flo) also contributes her vocals to the main ethereal progressive neofolk band from Italy in all but a few tracks, the name of this band is Corde Oblique. Get out of that one π1 point

Moved both tin-tops to A_plan last November while I was sorting insurance for the new build. Very competitive and very responsive too. I e-mailed them today with the registration number I just got from DVLA for the build and had a response, with updated documents, a couple of hours later. That said, we've insured the Westy with Adrian Flux from day 1, so that's 30 years now, and they've always been competitive.1 point

I was with Adrian flux for the first few years of my kitcar days bit they were dear from the off but were the only ones who would insure me at 21, so once I was of an older age I switched across to A plan. Hitting 40 this year I thought may be a winner, thanks for the help guys.1 point

I have been with A plan for years and years now, I used to do the yearly hunt for who was best, but A Plan have been so far the most competitive, prices have stayed fairly stable for me, maybe plus or minus the odd fiver now and again. I have tried probably all the more well known classic car / specialist car ones down the years, and of all of them I would not use A Flux again, the others just got too greedy. A Plan will still get my business this year as well. ETA, I have just seen Dave's post above, same reason as he, regarding A Flux.1 point

Ah the age thing! Turns out it wasn't so much as you just got older, more that there was a sort of window, you approached it in your twenties, made it into in your thirties, then eventually start moving out of again! I've also, BTW, had good service in the past from Footman James and Frank Pickles. Adrian Flux may or may not be OK, I refuse, personally, to try them again, as the one time I did they were incredibly pushy, to the point of borderline rudeness on the phone - I told them from the start I was in the midst of getting four quotes, but got the full "Oh, I don't think I can hold this deal open for you unless you agree now" routine. They eventually "relented" and said they'd hold it open for 24 hours, (though by that point, they'd lost any hope of a sale, I was just trying to politely get off the call). They then called twice the next day and sent several emails, and irregularly junk mailed/called me for ages afterwards.1 point

Cheers Dave, helpful and swift response as always. Mines barely gone up to be fair, but like you I have my tin top with them also. I was always told insurance went down as you got older haha seems it was a ploy to keep a 17 year old quiet all those years ago1 point

A Plan, generally at or near the best price, but by far the best service I've had from a broker, including when I had to make a claim on the 4x4 that's also with them. Otherwise, AiB were very helpful when I contacted them for a quote, and like A Plan, are a club sponsor, so offer a member's discount.1 point

Just don't forget that as said A Plan are brokers and not insurers therefore if you go with A Plan you're in the hands of the insurer they find you. I have my Westfield insured with A Plan but switched the tintop after shockingly bad service after a claim (the insurer itself was the issue although A Plan didn't really help much either!). As with anything insurance related you will always hope never to have to make a claim.0 points
