  1. Had a big day yesterday collecting my new car from Scotland. Big thanks to @Rush Motorsport for the trailer hire. Its a 2005 SEiW Sport 2000 duratec. 6k miles. Lovely condition generally. It’s need MoT and tax so today I clayed, machine corrected and then machine polished it on the drive. There were lots of fine minor imperfections but I got them all to a point I’m more than happy with.....even got the thumbs up from my three year old 😀 Roll on MOT and tax now!

  5. Welcome, lovely looking car despite the damp M25 backdrop! Hope you get it sorted soon, but it wouldn't be a Westfield if something didn't drop off now and again, its all part of the fun.... Up in the Peak District, there is much merriment when passing on the "magnet of shame" when the inevitable happens. A photo of me gladly passing it on (I'd lost an ARB drop link a few weeks prior) to Chris on one of the rare runs out last year after he'd lost a headlight... about 2 weeks later it was in Andy's hands when he broke a wing stay.... no doubt I'll have it back at some point 😂

  15. Thanks everyone. Dont worry it hasn't put me off, can't get rid of me that easily haha. I'm planing on just getting to know the car putting some miles on her and sorting / improving few things while road driving this year then maybe look into a couple of sprints and hill climbs next year.

  20. Hiya Dan. Similar to yourself, I picked up my first kitcar(Westfield) late last year. Had the same weather as yourself on the drive home. Didn’t breakdown on first trip but did have a problem a few days later. As others have said, don’t let it put you off. Loving my car and the guys here and have no regrets at all. Car looks great, enjoy. Ian.

  21. Welcome Dan. Great looking car and it looks like you got your bad luck over quite early in your ownership. Not the nicest of weathers either. As said, we all have the odd hiccup now and again and hope it does not put you off Westys.

  23. Yesterday and as planned the new roll bar was fitted. the back stay is still yet to be made but the fabricator will be coming back to fit that and also repair a lot of the cracks and damage to the chassis once it’s all been shot blasted which hopefully will be it’s next stop later this month. A big thanks to JMW motorsport for helping to organise this. In case you’re wondering what the internal pyramid structure is, this replicates the crash pylon that Costin originally designed for the car. To my knowledge the Costin Amigo was the only other car to feature such an unusual safety feature.

  26. Wise move to sit in one. Not sure what model you’re considering, but find on my Sport 250 I have to wear narrow race boots (on my wide size 8 feet) to ensure I don’t press the throttle when braking. That’s with the throttle pedal moved towards the offside from standard as well. Normal trainers are out of the question for me, fortunately the race boots are very comfortable to wear all day. Dont let me put you off a 250 though, personally think they’re a great car, just “try before you buy” would be my humble suggestion.

  27. I'm 6ft 5 and 17 (on a good day!) stone and I can shoehorn my pasty, middle aged fat body in just fine without any surgery! 😂 Just make sure it's the wide body with lowered floors and you will be fine 👍

  28. I'm also in South Wales! That's a great looking car Joe90. I joined the forum at the end of last year and have been reading build diaries plus the many other informative posts since. I don't own a Westfield yet but I plan on going down the build route. But my first priority is to actually sit in one when restrictions allow! At 6 foot 5 and size 12 feet I want to be sure I fit!

  30. Brilliant! Perfect time of year for delivery, enjoy every mile of it. Could be a resurrection of the south wales area meets if PCO joins the westfield ownership.
