  1. You don't seem to have many doctors around, do you. I am anesthetist - I send people off to sleep and make sure they wake up safe and sound. Anaesthetics goes together with Intensive Care, so I've also seen the worst COVID cases first hand. And yet I do all my cars and bikes maintenance and repair myself and I even built the garage I work in from scratch. I guess I like learning new skills.

  2. Cheers guys! I haven't got a diary, I'm not much of a writer, but I might put together a selection of self-explanatory pics and some thoughts. Just for reference I'm a doctor - anaesthetist and I also built that garage myself, with intention to build the car in it. I'm in Newport and the standard schnauzer is Cody. 🍻

The car was finished exceptionally well and was featured on a 6 page spread in Track and Race cars magazine. I have owned the car now for about 4 years and in that time been able to improve and build on certain aspects to obtain reliability and performance (happy to bore anyones ears off with a chat.) Last year the car ran on 6 track days as well as road mileage and not once caused me an issue or needing anything other than routine servicing. Asking price is £14,000, happy to negotiate with the exclusion of the Quantum’s or/and the inclusion of a single axle trailer perfect for towing her with.

  4. If you saw how many of us go about the mechanical repairs, you'd realise why we should be mostly limited to inanimate objects...

  5. Hi Time to introduce myself I’m a car and bike enthusiast based on the Isle Of Wight. I’ve been watching the kit car scene for a while, attended Stoneleigh for a number of years and finally ordered my Westfield 7 SDV Masda based kit in 2019. Most of the built took place in 2020, with a lot of attention given to the engine – short block rebuilt (re-used pistons, new rings, honing, new rods, bearings, etc), cleaned head, Coldisde Supercharger (new TVS900 unit), standalone Ecumaster, COP conversion, custom engine wiring built from scratch. I took the rolling chassis with the engine for a rolling road run-in and tuning last July – it produced the humble 160 whp but with very impressive torque curve. I have Intatrim seats and customised dash with a digital screen to the side of the standard analog speedo and tacho. I’m currently fiddling with the dash and body wiring, hoping to sort all the little glitches and have it IVA compliant in a couple of months. I’ve already asked a question in the IVA section, there will likely be more to come. Cheers Vasil

  7. @Andy (Sycho) @BenD good to see and look forward to meeting up. @Andrew @Michael Whitworth Come on, you know you want to! @jonjh1964 That's really useful info. I'll be stopping off at my Dad's in Chester, fitting new R888 at Demon Tweeks then heading up night before to a B&B/Hotel. The Kit Car Blats folks have got a lot of the Garages so hope to bag a slot in one of those, but will take the pop up gazebo also. Really looking forward to the challenge of this track compared to Castle Coombe - and yes recovery is sorted to 'cover' for my gremlins (though may have trailer by then).

  10. Yes I don't recall we have many ( if any - I need to read the whole thing again...) it's a Commendable occupation and been under a few times by your fellow colleagues. Welcome to the club by the way and good luck with the rest of the build. Richard

  11. Is it a cage built to the tube dimensions in the blue book or a homologated ROPS? If it’s the latter then you need to consider section 1.2.2. of the safety regulations “ Any modification to a homologated ROPS (other than fitment of Roof Reinforcement, Windscreen Pillar Reinforcement, Doorbars and Harness Bars) is prohibited”

  15. Nothing wrong with a CVH mate - a lot more modern than a x-flow and I always liked it in my old mk2 xr2, although I am very partial to my x-flow engined narrow and the old school roots.... Mart.

  19. Welcome, lovely car! You should be able to squeeze a lot more from the TVS900 once you have it through the IVA but that's a beautifully flat torque curve 👍

  24. If you don't have any luck, I made my own. Most DIY shops will sell U channel plastic strip. Using a heatgun carefully, you can get this bend around the corners of the frame. Something like 80p per metre length. Just an idea?.. Richard.
