  1. Nothing to report but as the pictures that were hosted by Photobucket have all disappeared I though I would put a few of the Spyder in its current location at work It's tucked up nice and safe and I might be looking at starting it next year once I have a couple of other projects done Starting to get the itch now to crack on

  5. I don't know what happened on Friday but the nice person I spoke to today explained the renewal cost and it's actually cheaper than last year! Woop woop to @A-Plan Insurance THATCHAM for yet another year 😍

  7. A year should be enough time to stock up on more tubular steel and welding rods. 😝🀣 Seriously though, I really hope you do get going again, been way too long. It’s been that long that a Build Threads sub-section created since then! (Maybe move the thread there?)

  8. I find good quality semi-dark chocolate does it for me. On one memorable (or maybe instantly forgettable) occasion in Holland, I had finished my day, had a meal and a pint with my co-workers, went back to the hotel and had a couple of squares of lovely belgian chocolate. About 3am I awoke in a massive panic, sweating and screamming "SNAKES" at the top of my voice. I still wonder what my fellow guests were thinking...

  9. Just managed to catch up with the 2021 first round at Bathurst, although still got Sunday's action to watch yet that's tonight's quest... Been following this for about the last 10 years or so, to me it's the best of 'tin top' racing I watch ( Le Mans WEC aside) If anyone else watches it, who is your fav for champion in '21'?. Richard.

  12. A linear measurement of an ever decreasing (yet arguably infinite) commodity. On the face of it there should be plenty but the reality is there is never enough...

  13. Wife and me are being jabbed next Monday. Have picked a venue a few miles away, as it seemed a good reason for a bit of a drive. We are going to Stoneleigh 😊.

  14. The lack of grip is the best bit, damp roundabouts are great fun, just need to make sure your the only person on the roundabout when you go for it.

  16. Quick history. Since leaving school, '86 apprentice/toolmaker '91 Royal Air Force, Aircraft Airframe and Propulsion Technician '11 Aircraft Maintenance Instructor, Saudi Arabia '14 Wind Turbine Technician Oct 2020, unemployed Ridden motorcycles since age 19, semi-bad crash in 2003 when Mrs was expecting our first child, rode for a while after but was never the same. Was never a 'car' guy but the waining confidence in motorcycling turned my interest and I wanted a 7 style car from about 2012. Bought a complete kit July 2018 and 100% my engineering experience helped. Hopefully will get back to work soon so I can buy a second Westfield, as the missus wants a white one!

  17. Doesn't work for kit cars! I've been with a-plan for 5 years.I do shop around too. Can't beat them for price or service.

  18. For a tintop absolutely. I'd be amazed if you can "compare the market" with a Westfield.

  19. Generally my career has involved moving boxes in and out of larger boxes, using boxes with wheels on.... occasionally I've even made things to put in boxes to then move into other larger boxes. I've been involved in the rock and roll lifestyle of Logistics and Supply Chain since I gave up on the idea of an Army career and left Sandhurst (didn't like being told what to do.... still don't! πŸ˜‚). Over the years I've done almost every exciting facet of moving boxes (warehouse, transport, planning, projects, manufacturing, consulting etc) for many industries (food, pharma, non food etc). These days I fund my wife's incredibly expensive horse habit by heading up the UK retail logistics, ecommerce and manufacturing for Holland and Barrett. Joking aside, I actually thoroughly enjoy what I do. I'm a small part of a team of over 1,000 people who do an amazing job, this last 12 months they've made me especially proud. My love of cars I got from my Dad. He raced grass track back in the 60's, was always tinkering with the old bangers we called the family car (105E's, Avenger's, Viva's, HB Victor's to name but a few) and would regale me with tales of Colin Chapman's genius.

  20. I think it's because she came to my area meets twice last year and neither time I gave her a passenger ride... I'm sorry 😘

  22. @A-Plan Insurance THATCHAM could you double check my renewal. Seeing the posts above some people have had similar year on year quotes. I have also had so for many years until now. I've been quoted with a 50% increase πŸ€”
