SOLD to Millwood Motors Dursley. They seem a very nice bunch, not the biggest amount of cash, but very easy. Now the Westfield is complete IVA'd and on the road I can't justify (afford) two 7's, so the time has come to sell the Caterham. I assembled it back in 2016 / 2017. Paid Caterham to check it out pre IVA and it passed first time. Been great fun to drive, pin sharp steering and lots of fun on damp roundabouts. Now I have a Westy I am hooked on the idea of upgrades, so the Caterham will be funding that bad habit. It is a 160 S so you probably know the spec includes. Suzuki 660cc Turbo engine. 80 BHP so at about 500 Kg Caterham call it 160 BHP / Ton. Firecracker yellow with black accessories. Best colour combo in my opinion. It is the narrow body standard floor, so if you are over 6 foot with size 12 feet you will struggle to fit. Fixed ARB at front Non adjustable coilover Bilsteins all round Live rear axle Narrow steel wheels Disks up front, drums at the rear, non servo brakes. Intercooler Wet weather gear, including doors and a rag top that works. 4 point harness Roll bar Heater Heated windscreen 12v socket 5500 miles or so Good condition, a bit of 7 acne low down on rear wheel arches as you would expect. MOT due 04-June-2022 Just serviced it. So new oil, new oil filter, new air filter, drain and fill coolant, replaced DOT 4 brake fluid. No problems starts first time on the button. Now the price, tricky, at the moment it is the only one for sale as far as I can tell in the UK. In Japan (where most of these end up) I believe this spec sells for £25k to £30K, the Sprint and Super Sprint Gentleman racers of similar age ( same car just a lot of leather and retro style) go for about £28K upwards. So I am looking for £19,750 as it was a kit build and is not weighed down with leather and fancy paintwork. Me and the car are based in Brixham Devon, I can provide a lot of pictures if required. contact via the forum or markc797@gmail.com3 points

I am approaching sixty and have owned and driven many classics, hot rods and sports cars. It is the anniversary of my Westfield purchase in 2018, so I thought I would celebrate by writing this. I was looking for a "classic" car but the purchase price, poor handling, inherent corrosion and poor performance had put me right off anything that fit my budget. In desperation I purchased my "project" (wreck) of a 1990 Westfield SEIW (Q823 DSA) because for the money, I believed it to be the best British sportscar I could buy. Today, after a complete body off restoration I am still of that opinion. And when I say "best" I don't just mean the driving experience. As opposed to most classics, the Westfield is a delight for the home mechanic to maintain and modify. For a Crossflow engined Westie the parts are cheap and plentiful with great support from this forum and vendors alike. The Westie is really easy to set up for everyone's individual requirements. I have lightened mine to a shade over 500Kg and changed the springs at both ends several times (because there cheap) to achieve the most delightful ride. Adjusting most of the suspension settings takes just a few minutes with a basic toolkit to achieve the levels of grip and handling "feel" you desire and that surpass nearly all moderns. I have also modified my Westie to look "older" replacing all the black plastic bits with chrome items together with using older style lights and instruments. I was at my mates body shop Friday night and someone had asked him to sort out his "restored " MGB Midget, which he was selling for £7,500. What a coil of dogs mess! Apart from the wheezy 1275cc "A" series and live rear axle on cart springs, the panel gaps were the worst I have ever seen! And I won't even mention the corrosion bubbling up under the terrible paint job. 30 year old Westfield SEIW with Crossflow - when all things are considered, easily the best British classic sports car for the money!1 point

Lead time is too long and we don't have enough interest to warrant keeping them on. We have other alternatives that are available much quicker.1 point

I have not read the whole tread to see if its been already said, but if low pressure pump is ok, the likeliness is in hp pump or Injectors leaking. My money in the injectors.1 point

Just you wait until you’re 60 and feel chuffed with yourself for coming up with the idea of writing it down in the Memos part of your phone or recording it on the Voice Memos app so you could remember it once upstairs. Triumph and tragedy in one hit. 😎😫1 point
