  1. finished fabricating a foot rest today. 2mm alum alloy sheet, rubber matting bonded on. it's hinged at the top and so can be lifted up to accommodate taller passengers. Lockable chrome hasp at the bottom creates a nice 'secure-ish' storage area. Just need to install a couple of press studs on leather loop straps to secure it in the up position when not in use.

  2. Evening, Sorry for the absence, work has been long and hard trying to keep people working from home, and dealing with peoples mental state (especially my own). so here is the funny. i have been offered the CV19 vaccination for Friday, when asking why a 46 year old has been offered it, they told me its for a pre existing heart condition. what the devil pre existing heart condition? so i ask to speak to someone over this and they say they can't and a doc needs to call me , turns out i had a suspected heart mumor when i was 6 years old, now not a problem, but hey ho. i'm now on the list. (and its led to conversation with my mum about a time i went to great ormond street, which i had no clue about.) i have to say my mental health over all this has been pretty f*****, i'm a sociable animal and having minimal integrations with adults and totally focused on keeping a small business running during this has been tough. so here is my covid resolution:- 1) get active walk/cycle every week.... i need to fit in the race suit. 2) get the westy out and drive the b*****r, it makes me smile, it makes others smile and goodness me its a paper weight if I don't. 3) get socialable. I've missed you all. 4) hug my mum & dad, I've missed them and I'm lucky that we have all made it through this. 5) volunteering - its away of giving back and saying thank you. i count my blessings for working with a wonderful team, have a family that puts up with me, and volunteering has helped me through dark spell. so see you at a Manchester meet or the paddock at Blyton I've missed you all! cheers Panda

  3. Thanks everyone. Had a good day working on the Little Beast doing the long outstanding jobs. Changed the front arb drop links, stuck on the carbon wing mirror covers and played electrics. Now for stew and dumplings followed by trifle.

  5. Also interesting that our French and German friends are turning their back on the Oxford jab after their leaders criticised it, but the same data from Scotland shows the Oxford jab to be more effective at preventing hospitalisations, 94% vs 85%. I shall leave it there, not to digress too much from discussion of funny little things with wheels and engines 😀

  7. You can only price by what a similar spec, running car would be worth minus the risk of an unknown engine problem (which could be either trivial or terminal). I think the car had some improvements to wiring, battery, starter along the way. I'd leave the offer with him and see what happens, it doesn't sound like he's ready to sell, really.

  8. I think you just have to know where you're comfortable at*, make the offer and walk away, if it comes back to you at that, great, if not, it wasn't meant to be. *I don't mean financially more, what's the price point that if you went beyond will just p.. you off every time you see the car, and take the fun out of it for you.

  10. I think he is hoping you are so set on having 'her' back he is hoping you will buckle and give in to his price. And as Craig says, walk away.......

  19. A bit more communication this evening and he’s looking to buy a Scooby powered V-Storm so an offer has been made by me for the Westie, he said he’s wanting £9k but I’m not prepared to go to that given it’s got problems now. I’m sure there’s some middle ground to be reached.

  20. This area of the forum, whilst titled 'Stuff and Nonsense', is to enable members to raise topics which clearly don't belong in other sections of the forum. However primarily, we are a Westfield sports Car forum and members should strive to contribute in a balanced way. We'd hope 99% of member's posts are on Westfield Sports Car related topics and 1% are 'stuff and nonsense'. Hence before posting in here, please consider: 1. Do I really need to share this with the WSCC Community (i.e. is it all ready covered on main stream news sites, Face book etc)? 2. Is there already a thread on this topic? If, so why not continue on that thread, instead of starting a new one! 3. Have there been lots of similar threads on this topic and hence members may view my post as repetitive/annoying, etc? Please also consider many members view the forum, by selecting the unread posts view, and therefore some members may become frustrated if all they see is 'stuff and nonsense' topics from this view. Some of these members may then raise the issue with the Moderator Team, who do they best to keep this a happy and friendly place to be! The team work around the clock, ensuring SPAM and inappropriate posts are quickly removed and hence would appreciate if their collective workload can be reduced, by not having to deal with issues on repetitive posting of non-car related topics.
