  1. Saw this while picking up some milk and it threw me. I think that’s a bit of a given, isn’t it? Don’t think there’s much choice in the matter. Not exactly newsworthy.

  2. Having owned a westfield mega blade for 6 years in several guises finaly converting engine to Honda fire blade 1000rr it was a great car and much loved, time came to sell it on to a guy in Spain . Moving onto a Ab performance Arion s2 again with honda fire-blade Sp 1000rr power a fantastic package well engineered , great handling and performance , then covid struck and buisness income dropped i reluctantly decided to sell the Arion on to generate some cash for the bank a very sad tough day for sure . Then out of the blue the guy in Spain contacted me to say he was selling my old car , a real pull on the heart strings after a few minutes thought i struck a deal and now the old westy is coming home , result some money in the bank and a car in the garage . Looking forward to re igniting my relationship with my westfield And the club

  4. There are some seriously fast drivers amongst our trackday clan. Always makes me smile when we're blasting past other cars when we all manage to get out together in a train

  8. I was an instinct driver until I fitted a massive turbo, then quickly became a comfort driver...

  9. Veey kind. But yes, I feel I can make the car do what I want it to do, rather than reacting to whatever it does, if that makes sense...

  13. What about the fourth type of driver..the one that hasn't got a clue..no idea where the limit is...but finds it regularly and annoys all the others on the track day when it is red flagged to pull him or her out of the gravel!

  14. It often is after some of the Peak runs, all those pesky cows like to leave the cars covered in souvenirs!

  15. I sure will, and thank you all muchly. Though why we should want to celebrate getting older beats me, unless it is celebrating having survived this long after all the daft things I've done in my life, not to mention the bodily abuse. Of which I'm planning more later today; a nice ribeye steak with proper (deep fried) chips etc., washed down with a glass or three of claret!

  17. Potential Westfield owner no longer - I've gone and bought one! The black / carbon fibre 1800 SEiW for sale on here. Lovely looking car, honest and helpful owner, good history and lots of receipts / photos to prove work done. First drive was interesting - started in Tavistock in the sunshine but by the time I'd got to Okehampton it was misty and getting colder. By Exeter it was down to 6 degrees and full on fog (I'd obviously not fitted hood / doors / side-screens for first drive. 😀 😀 Thanks to all on here for helpful comment / advice - it was invaluable and hopefully ensured I bought the right car for me. Just got to sell the TT now and rearrange the garages. See you all out on the roads. Jim

  18. Initial response from accountant is positive! The reducing benefit of company cars is only for newish ones - older ones (15 years plus) are treated differently so remain an efficient way of utilising company money (that isn't earning interest anyway). Company will buy, insure, tax and maintain - I'll just add petrol for personal use and pay extra income tax on any personal miles based on original list price (£4,000 ish) and engine size. Some Capital Gains implications if it were to rocket in value and I sold it - but no plans to do that at present. Just got to find a car that suits now and then ask the CEO (which is me 😀) for approval.

  19. Don't see how or why it would be a fraud on the revenue. The tax regime these days for company cars is such that unless you do a high business mileage (over 18,000 miles a year I think) many people are better off not having a company car and getting an allowance for supplying your own car from your own resources, and claiming tax free mileage based expenses for business use, particularly higher rate tax payers. My son-in-law does a fairly high business mileage, but even so because the tax is so much higher if you have a company car with free private use, he finds it much better to won his own car, claim for traveling expenses from the company, and pay less tax to the revenue.

  20. A Camaro Z28 was my company car for three years and 76,000 miles, same tax band as the Space Shuttle.
