  1. It's been a somewhat weird and uncertain year for everyone, no shows, no WSCC Speed Series / Awards evening - a few socially distanced club meets and drives ....... just to say, despite the lack of events ..... what a brilliant WSCC Calendar we have for 2021. A thank you to all the contributors for digging deep in their albums and of course an extra big Thank You to Peter O and the team for putting it together and fingers crossed there will be more to look forward to in 2021. 👍🏻 🤞🏻

  3. After finally finding a cam sensor related issue that had turned the engine into a non runner since summer 2019, the car finally moved, (well 3/4 of it did), all be it four or five metres(!) under it's own engine power, considering it's running NA, with just a base map on the new DTA ecu, although rich, it's running nicely now the cam sensor reading issue is resolved. It was still covered in masking tape and a thick layer of dust from cutting, drilling sanding etc, so I reversed it, perched in the one snot bolted-down-seat, with no dash, just the laptop for instruments, out into the sunlight, and very carefully washed off all the dust, after peeling off what tape I could get at, and using adhesive/tar remover on the residue it left.

  7. New build ZK Westfield registered 1.10.20. in my name as a Westfield Sports. IVA in September 2020 with non Cat 1993 2.0 Zetec passed first time. The car is as new with 125 miles built from a new old stock Westfield Kit using mainly new and reconditioned parts. Build record with original receipts and Ford dating letter for the engine on file. The engine is a rebuilt 2.0 Zetec engine with mild porting. The throttle bodies were built by DanST and the ecu in an Omex 600 with their loom which has been programmed for IVA pass on 1993 non cat engine. Fitted to a Type 9 standard gearbox with 1.8 Zetec flywheel and new clutch, the diff is 7" Sierra all of which run very well. The alternator is the Burton kit to suit this engine and a new light weight starter motor plus new water pump and new cam belt. A high capacity Coolex Rad with Spal fan on standard Westfield controls. New full size battery to ensure no issues re IVA. Brakes are standard Ford type all new this year with EBC front pads and discs plus standard pads and discs on rear no issues re brake test at IVA. Steering all new again no issues re self centring for test. Shocks are new AVO with 300lbs springs at front and 185 at rear. Fuel system all new with Goodridge Hardine tubing fitted to factory guide lines and factory brake line kit. New wiring loom with IVA spec lighting including fog light. Wheels were new with kit 5 spoke Revolution with 195 50 15 Yoko's. Seats are Westfield sport. Car is set up for bumpy roads as I live in a country lane. The car is still in IVA trim and really is a blank canvas. I have decided to go Old School re my Westfield ownership and currently restoring my 1989 SE hence this sale. More details on file just ask. £10995 OBO.

  8. I haven't used BRE, although I worked within 30 metres of their main entrance for over ten years and my colleague's wife worked there until it was privatised. Yarsley Labs were very stringent and fair, and the set-up that carried out the fire testing at Cardington did everything themselves once the sample pallet was in their hands so it is hard to see how any fiddle could have been carried out. What you say, Mark, makes sense in that the test house must have been aware of the composition of the test sample but obviously their liability for diligence doesn't extend beyond certifying that the sample submitted performed in a particular way. The additional component must have been a credible addition and not one that was clearly added to skew the results merely for the test. Would Kingspan boards behave in the same way as Celotex? I see no reason why not as their composition appears very similar.

  9. A horrifying crash that showed how a simple overtake move can really escalate! A stunning tribute to the engineers who design and build these and sadly as mentioned, all those that have passed away in accidents to force improvements. Also look forward to the investigation report... Yep, I think this has now made my mind up for my next upgrade - me! Time for a proper set of shoes, gloves, suit and balaclava me thinks! They may never get used in anger against fire but I think I'll be happy with that investment/insurance.

  11. Just north of Woodhall. There are other members in Cleethorpes who sometimes come out on the Peak District runs. Hopefully restrictions will soon change and we can all meet up and have fun.

  12. I ended up with a C250 Cdi estate, which doesn’t really fit the criteria of being particularly big or especially large engined. Nor does it have small wheels with big squishy tyres, and it does unfortunately have “sporty” suspension.
