  1. https://www.abi.org.uk/products-and-issues/topics-and-issues/coronavirus-hub/motor-insurance/ If I drive during the lockdown period, will my insurance be invalidated? Your cover will not be affected if you drive during the lockdown period. However, all motorists should follow Government advice and avoid non-essential travel. That's from the Association of British Insurers. As a broker we use 40+ insurers, and we have had no notification to say cover is going to be affected at all. Carlie

  2. Until we have the final results I will remain suspicious of who to blame. Is it the people who conducted the test, those who allegedly cheated it, or those who approve it's use. Or indeed those who didn't look at evacuation and fire fighting in a highrise like this. It seems a catalogue of error, or criminality, where all share some blame for the devastation it caused. What makes it even worse is that the delay in finding out the truth is astounding, every day it drags on justice for those who died is not delivered. I agree we need to see people serving jail time, not as revenge but as a warning to others that lives matter more than money

  8. I take it you didn't watch the Turkish gp? The merc was nowhere. Bottas span 5 times and finished down the back. Yet Hamilton won. That race in those conditions highlighted which drivers had the skills. Showed that vettel hasn't lost it either was really good to see him up the front. His chat with Hamilton at the end congratulating him was classy too.

  10. Hello, Recently purchased a 92 SE Narrow Body which has only 1007 miles most of which was spent in hill climbing as the previous owner had bought one as a kit and only used it for 2 years. Since then it has been stored and pushed around ect and the owner had died years ago and left the Westfield to his wife. I've now got it and plan to bring it up for hill climbing next year which is a new adventure for myself and to carry on the history of this once former hill climb race car. I've got some questions to ask too as there's a mystery of whats going on with the rear axle on mine as paperwork suggests its got escort and talbot ti parts. I know its got a 1.6 TI with twin webber 45s on and what i thought was possibly a escort rear axle seems to be talbot axle but with no pigs ears which i found odd as theres room for them to stay. Ill ask in technical incase others know much about this sort of arrangement. Very new thing to me as i've owned a subaru and currently a mitsubish evo 5 which is a different game to this haha. Take it theres like a build threads section? I might post an update or so about this as its a really interesting thing. Live in the north west so may see some of you in the future. I've added a few pics so you can see the car :) - Chris.

  13. The whole thing is an absolute disgrace. Dreadful for those that died, dreadful for those that survived and dreadful for their families and friends. I hope the changes that this hearing will recommend will be far reaching and include a spell inside for the crooks and idiots that were "in charge".

  14. 16 nov 2020 https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2020/nov/16/fire-test-for-grenfell-foam-cladding-panels-was-rigged-admits-ex-employee "Fire test for Grenfell foam cladding panels was rigged, admits ex-employee". The article goes on to say "A first test in February 2014 failed in 26 minutes, with flames engulfing the (test) rig. But after changing some of the materials used around the insulation, including adding concealed fire-retardant panels, a second test three months later passed and was used to market the foam boards as safe for high-rise buildings". Seems the concealed fire-retardant panels were only for the fire test and not in the marketed product. A very troubling allegation some 41 months after the fire.

  17. They don't need to, they're essentially design weights each axle can cope with, but the maximum design weight of the car is lower and mustn't be exceeded. Think of it this way, just because the overall car can weigh 900 kg, it doesn't mean one end weighing 850kg and the other somehow only weighing 50kg would be safe!

  20. I know it’s not the done thing these days, but I thought it was worth a mention of a positive event last night....another successful SpaceX launch, the Crew 1 mission that has taken 4 astronauts into orbit to dock with the ISS. First time 4 crew have gone up in one craft since the Space Shuttle.
