  5. Hello, Recently purchased a 92 SE Narrow Body which has only 1007 miles most of which was spent in hill climbing as the previous owner had bought one as a kit and only used it for 2 years. Since then it has been stored and pushed around ect and the owner had died years ago and left the Westfield to his wife. I've now got it and plan to bring it up for hill climbing next year which is a new adventure for myself and to carry on the history of this once former hill climb race car. I've got some questions to ask too as there's a mystery of whats going on with the rear axle on mine as paperwork suggests its got escort and talbot ti parts. I know its got a 1.6 TI with twin webber 45s on and what i thought was possibly a escort rear axle seems to be talbot axle but with no pigs ears which i found odd as theres room for them to stay. Ill ask in technical incase others know much about this sort of arrangement. Very new thing to me as i've owned a subaru and currently a mitsubish evo 5 which is a different game to this haha. Take it theres like a build threads section? I might post an update or so about this as its a really interesting thing. Live in the north west so may see some of you in the future. I've added a few pics so you can see the car :) - Chris.

  6. Having driven a 1 litre auto Micra that belonged to my mum, fast wasn’t an option; not slowing down once you’d got some speed up was about as near as that car came. (Was bags of fun trying, though!)

  12. A neighbour had a dry wipe board by their bin. So I've re-purposed it! @MikeJG They're useful during build too. The green pen is for normal stuff and I've got an invisible ink pen for the secret upgrades that only males can see 😉

  19. And this is why so many of the businesses that fall through the cracks of government support are going to the wall. If the business is allowed to be open as its been deemed essential that's good enough for me providing your not driving hundreds of miles to get there. Take every precaution you can, use ppe and keep your distance as no doubt the tuner will have procedures for. I know my views differ from a lot on here but just my opinion. The world has to keep turning whilst taking as much care as possible.

  22. The swear filter is one of those backstage bits that needs periodic updating to reflect and suit the current culture. There is one choice swear word which thankfully has never been used and tripped the filter but if it ever is, it will leave a henhouse full of eggs over the poster’s face.

  28. They, are can't Glen read them or perhaps as some include Friday's when you're at work, he's keeping quiet 😉 Not needed, he's got these rules ingrained in his brain: Thou shalt only sit in the passenger seat and if you're not sat in the passenger seat, you shall be cleaning and polishing Thou shalt never eat beef Thou shalt never question the route, if we're not home or eating cake, we're not home or eating cake The Zetec isn't over heating, it's just sweating

  33. No, and I said so. The press never poll the public. They ALWAYS use phrases like "public opinion..." in these stories because there is ZERO chance of being proved wrong in any meaningful way. My issue with it that it may be a correct assumption, but it is ALWAYS an assumption, as if the press speak for the majority of us (and are correct about it) all the time. It saves then from the bother of actually doing any real investigative work. The phrase should be "opinion of those in my echo chamber..."
