  1. Problem is they then look at you as though you're the weirdo!

  2. I'm back on 15s now and I ventured out the other day after storm aiden had washed through and I went through a lot of standing water, the Michelin ps3s gave quite frankly a rude amount of grip, even when I was 'provoking' them. I agree though the r1r does have a tread pattern that creates rooster tails comically well.

  3. Lots of things are only guidance but we all sensibly follow that guidance, how to cross the road safely is only guidance (the green cross code for those old enough to remember) we tend to follow that guidance because not to, quite often, ends up in death. The covid guidance is no different, just less obvious, those damb covid viruses are just a lot smaller to see than a great big bus. Mark Drakeford made a good point this morning on TV when he said something along the lines that people need to stop looking at how to strech and interpret the rules to benefit themselves but to start to think could what I'm about to do have a negitive effect on others, is it going to increase the risk of virus transmission etc etc It's for this reason I chose to leave the Westi off the road at the start and I've taken it off now. I'm not going to be using the Westi for anything other then pleasure and therefore to just go for a Drive has the potential (though highly unlikly) to stretch services and place them under greater presure. totally agree, if you need to go somewhere the mode of transport should be at your discretion.

  4. Whatever happens, whether you believe it or not? The success of this lockdown will depend on people. And pound to a penny there will be thousands next weekend protesting in London and not observing social distancing!!

  7. I dont go for the confusing rules argument either. Its just an excuse to not comply. Those who want to comply understand the intent of the rules. Much as I'd also like a Thailand approach we have to accept whats actually achievable before considering as an option. Its probably not achievable in the UK. China also appears to have eradicated the virus. Id be sceptical of any claims from there.

  11. And that's another thing, I don't think I will ever be able to walk in a straight line again, I've spent the last 8 months trying to make a safe space between me and ignorant people walking in the opposite direction who refuse to move over, even the slightest amount

  13. Just catching up on this... I've read some of the Face book stuff, would love to hear more, without the input of the dodgy FB keyboard armchair warriors! ..It's a Westfield derived experimental chassis!

  14. Rear - jack up using the diff. Front - find a bit of the chassis near front wishbones where a few of the sections come together from different angles. Either side will do.

  15. We had a good run this year boys and girls MSVT now confirms that in line with latest guidance from the Government, all our trackdays at our six venues (Brands Hatch, Donington Park, Oulton Park, Snetterton, Cadwell Park and Bedford Autodrome) will cease from Thurs 5th Nov to the 2nd Dec inclusive. In line with our terms and conditions, for track days that are cancelled due to events beyond our control a full credit for the booking will be automatically applied onto the MSVT account that made the booking. Given the extraordinary circumstances involved, these credits will have a 12-month validity from your original cancelled event date(s). The credits can be redeemed against any listed MSVT date. All credits are being processed automatically and we are systematically working our way through them now. Credits can also be viewed by logging into the MSVT account. When booking the next track day the credit will be there waiting at the bottom of the "check out page" to press redeem. The amount will be deducted from the balance before moving on to card entry. Please check the amount is correct before paying. Our phone lines and incoming emails are incredibly busy but we are trying as hard as we can to get through them. Thanks for your support and understanding and we look forward to seeing you on track again very soon! Kind regards MSVT

  16. Chris. I feel it was maybe possibly close to a wish for herd immunity ! And if we hadn't had this rapid rise and prediction for it to get much worse we may have stayed on the same path. I dont feel its a surprise for the waves of infection. Hopefully each wave will reduce in height until either inoculation or we somehow become resilient. But I'm not saying either are a certainty. Just glad I'm not having to make the decision.

  17. Picked car up Saturday. Rained lots for most of the 2plus hours drive home. Apart from some misting problems, cured by wife Ali and a cloth, we had a great drive home. Laughed all the way. Was out for a good drive yesterday on the(mainly)dry roads. Wonderful, should have brought one of these years ago. Absolutely barking mad ain’t they. Lockdown will give me time to go over the car and find bits to do. Have a small star crack on rear, just above light cluster. Not sure of best way to deal with this? Sticker over and forget? Repair gel coat? Not a lot else to do I don’t think. Sure il find bits though when i start looking further.

  18. Nail on head! Most people I discuss this with say how confusing the rules are. So the Tier system needs to be clearly linked to daily infection rate and applied nationally. So keeping to below a number would define the lockdown tier applied. Eg Tier 1 is below say 3000 daily infection. I know this seems unfair to local towns of lower infection rates, but, put simply, anything over R=1 is a slow or quick walk to tier 3, full lockdown etc. Folk will move from one zone to another, national tier is the only option. I genuinely feel for those in hospitality. Incredibly stressful times for so many.
