The photos didn't help facilitate a sale? I'm shocked... 😆 So, how about this... I'm a firm believer that life is for living, and experiences trump bank balances. And they say the best things in life are free, right? Well the Munter is one of the best things in life. So, it clearly now follows that the car can be collected free of charge. That's right, zero pounds, to anyone who wants it! The only caveats are as follows: 1) The car gets released as-is, except I'd like to keep the AFR gauge, harnesses and steering wheel for a future project. With some fuel in, it'll head straight to a track and run all day once you add steering and occupant retention devices. 2) The spares are all 'up for grabs' by separate sale, at very sensible (cheap) prices. 3) The new owner is to let me know when they plan to attend their first 3 track days in the car, invite me along, and add me as a second driver on the booking if I can make it. I'll provide 'support' with the car and a bit of instruction too, if you like. I'm offering this to the Westfield club first, as I trust anyone who takes the car on will use and enjoy it for what it is, and not just flog it immediately afterwards either as a complete car or in bits. While I am aware I can't stop that happening, it would clearly leave a pretty sour taste and be absolutely against the ethos of this post! Form an orderly, COVID-secure queue... Or not. I'm not sure how this will go down, but it's worth a try6 points

I'm about halfway through a book called The Secret Barrister". It's one of the best written, most alarming factual books I think I have ever read. If you want to arm yourselves with some facts as well as spending quite a lot of time with your head in your hands, I strongly recommend reading it.2 points

Good day had by all.. I think? A few little niggles here and there but all cars running at the end of the day .. as far as I know. Weather was perfect, although I had a surprising start to my day.. 5-45 am scraping ice of my windscreen! Got a load of pics to look though and vids, hopefully.1 point

Great weather! The TT is still up in the air waiting more parts so it’s a good job I didn’t get a space on this one. starting to think that it’s never going to make it on the road,😖, I should get Adam’s MX5 and maybe a bit more luck 😁1 point

Sounds like you enjoy the ins-and-outs of the legal system so I think you'd enjoy The Secret Barrister. And I'm sure if he revealed himself he'd have a lot of customers, although I guess he'd be for the high jump as well. In another life I would have striven to have become a QC but life takes a much less predictable path than the one the Careers Day at school promises, despite them actually getting me what I thought (at all of 15 years 4 months old) would be a great career...1 point

Ours is a 1999 ZEi - but was factory-built with V8 bonnet, V8 nose, and cycle wings, and the (___?) scuttle with the heater unit in the engine bay - such was the first owners box-ticking when the car was ordered. But there is plenty of the ZEi type-approval evidence - front and rear tow rings welded to the chassis, and the now-removed underslung exhaust, et al. Just goes to show, very few Westfields are exactly alike!1 point

On the flip side to some of the anecdotes I parked my 911 in a Leeds McDonalds car park earlier this week. I parked with no cars either side and went in to order my food (the drive through was closed for some reason). When I came back with my order there was an old ish Corsa parked next to my car and a women looking really distressed. She said the wind took her door as she was coming out and smacked hard against my rear arch and had been waiting for me to come out to explain what happened. Luckily I have that clear protective stuff on the rear arches (mainly to protect from stone chips) and this saved the arch from any damage. You could see where the door hit as there was a smudge but this wiped away and there was no damage. The lady insisted I took her details but under closer inspection at home there is still no damage so I texted her back so she wasn't worried. I'm aware it could just have happened and she was preparing to do a runner but I actually think she was one of those few genuine people that drive our roads! I just wish everyone else was like that!1 point

Good run out today, we had the weather and stayed dry! 5 cars and 6 people, so we managed to stay in the "rule of 6" met at Squires cafe and started the run up to Hemsley, going the back way to York. We managed to stay together and not get split up in the morning tourist traffic. Arriving in Helmsley, we managed to get parked in the market square, and the discovery of 20 minutes free parking was a bonus. Getting something to eat was a bit of a challenge due to queuing, but a meal deal from the co-op did just fine. I asked if anyone had been to the White Horse at Kilburn, Des wanted to know if they served a decent pint and a pie, but it doesn't as it's a White Horse cut into the hillside under the gliding club, so we went there next. Narrow roads and a 25% gradient was a bit hairy, and the Land Rover wasn't going to stop (see the coming video). A chat and photos done and we were off again. Fuel stop in Thirsk and down the A19 to York and the Motorist for a coffee. It was closed, so back to Squires with a near miss with from artic nearly saw a 5 car pile up, GoPro not recording for that unfortunately. The cars created a lot of interest amongst the bikers, as they always do. A good day out, and thanks for coming.1 point

Two and a half years ago, my poor neighbour lost control of his MGB in Wales. The corner on the B road he was going around turned out to be slick with cow poo and he slid off (Aquapooed? Poo-planed?) at 15mph into a gate post, which screwed the front end something awful. He then spent the next two years rebuilding and repairing it - I helped him - and it was back on the road this spring. 👍 On Friday night in London, he was driving in a 20 mph zone when a driver doing 50 mph blew a red light and hit him and ricocheted off into some street furniture, then ran off, leaving his car behind with an empty vodka bottle and pot paraphernalia inside it. This was the result: My friend is determined to rebuild it, but he’s understandably gutted.0 points

Really makes you feel a bit sad. Time for another anecdote. My brother was fortunate enough, through his own hard work for 20 years and saving, to buy his dream car, an Aston Martin V8 Vantage about 8 years ago... he was sitting behind a car waiting to turn right at traffic lights which where on green. Car in front, slams into reverse and accelerates as hard as it could smashing the front of my brothers car. why? anyones guess.... Guy gets out and had his gf + kid in his car, gave false details and drove off. Brother tracked the guy down on facebook and reported him to the police. The police adamantly stated it could not be this gentleman as he was banned from driving for...wait for it; driving a car whilst disqualified... ???? ... no insurance, no tax, no MOT... police couldn't care less... bro had to get it repaired out of his own pocket.... yet Mr / Mrs law abiding citizen (you and I) even dare forget to insure or tax or have a slightly small number plate and we get the full weight of the law... Even if they do catch the guy that smashed into his MG, the police will do nothing and said scumbag will be back on the road before you know it. What annoys me, is the scumbags of this world have the exact same democratic vote as you or I. An equal say despite not having an equal input into society. (sorry getting a bit political)... grrrr.....0 points
