  4. In short answers and all IMHO: > Vettel is past it and has been for some time. He’s only won 14 races since 2015 out of 110 since joining Ferrari, which hardly speaks well about leading a team. He’s fast in a perfect car, but the difference between him and Hamilton is that Lewis makes a good car competitive and a great car unbeatable - Vettel can’t win in an uncompetitive car. > Was Perez treated badly? Yep - welcome to the Piranha Club as Ron Dennis would say. He saved Force India by wielding a knife when asked, and was stabbed with another knife that he has to carry around for the rest of the year. How he’s going to be out of a job while Grosjean still races is a mystery. > As above, Vettel is a dangerous, reckless driver who should have had his super license suspended on a number of occasions. Christian Horner is much to blame for this, letting Vettel get away with whatever he wanted without punishment. > Watch out if daddy’s boy Lance starts outperforming Sebastian. Toys will be ejected from the racing pram. > Much gets written about what a nice guy Seb is off the track. I’m afraid I have almost no respect left for him when he’s on the track. I think for Seb, this is as ill-advised as Schumacher’s coming out of retirement to drive for Mercedes. Time will tell.

  5. Personally I think Vettel should not be on the track after the red mist incidents and wheel clashing. Anybody with a temper like that should not be in a racing car. In addition, Perez had a contract and has not underperformed. As such should still have his seat. In my view both of these issues do not reflect well on F1.

  6. Will try and park up in paddock one. They have had some resurfacing work going on . We carry a full tool box and a couple of jacks if required. It's worth noting there is no fuel available at the circuit. Weather forecast looks ok

  9. Morning all, Time to move my, er, pride and joy on to someone who will take as, er, good care of her as I did! EDIT: Updated terms of 'sale', see this post: https://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/topic/140806-mx-5-munter-track-hack-now-free/?do=findComment&comment=1489318 It looked like this when it was first built, but now has a giant comedy penis drawn in the dust on the bonnet, some 5 spoke alloy wheels with some (pretty worn) Nankang AR-1 tyres on, some gaffer tape adorning various areas of the body, and a pretty crumpled front right corner from where my mate stuck it in the tyres at Cadwell a few years back (low speed, just panel damage): There's a full build thread here: https://www.mx5nutz.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=216681 "So, what on earth would make me want to part with over a grand for that shed?" I hear you ask. Well. - This is the ultimate track hack - no frills, no messing about, just a cheap to run, reliable, fun car that's surprisingly quick. - Thanks some pretty significant weight removal (weight is a hair over 800kg) it'll get round Cadwell in under 1:45, Blyton Outer in the 1:13s and Oulton in the 2:04s, despite the plucky, completely standard 1.6 engine only pushing out about 115bhp. - It has seated pilots comfortably from 5ft3 up to 6ft4, in complete safety thanks to the roll 'tower'. - I've never had an 'early bath' in the 20+ trackdays I've taken it on. - It comes with a spare set of wheels (the steelies shown above, with some Nankang road tyres on, which have enough tread to clear even the wettest surfaces), a spare set of almost new Yokohama AO48Rs in the right size to fit, and even a spare (good, known) engine and gearbox, a spare diff, and other odds and sods such as plugs, HT leads, brake pads, hoses, etc - basically everything you might even need to keep it going for another 5 years, other than the odd oil and filter change. It has an open diff at the moment, but don't let that put you off. The spare is a viscous LSD, and it's only still a spare because you don't need it! It could do with an oil change at the moment, but on collection from me near Preston, Lancashire, I'd be happy to stick her up on my lift and carry that out with the new owner, so you can have a proper nosey over the car too. Honestly there is some rust in the usual places, but the car is generally solid, and with the welded in cage is nice and stiff. It drives brilliantly, very forgiving and playful. Oh, and the dampers are yellow, AND adjustable, what more could you want? I think that's all... but any questions just shout up! Cheers, Adam

  10. For Sale – Westfield SuperTec – Enclosed Trailer – Spares Package After owning and developing my very loved car over the last 12 years, I’ve made the very reluctant decision to move on. To say this has been an extremely difficult decision is an understatement but due to other commitments personal circumstances it’s sadly time to move on. I’ve had an absolute blast with the car, it’s brought me an amazing amount of pleasure and has introduced me into the Westfield Speed Series family, where I’m happy to say I’ve met some of the best people I now call my best friends. History The car was originally built to a very high standard by Paul Aspden, the founder of Playskool Motorsport in circa 1999/2000. It was also owned by WSCC legends, Steve Davies and latterly Mike Allard (The Duck). Mike ran the car successfully in the Speed Series for a time before I purchased her in around 2005/6. It ran a high performance Vauxhall XE with around 235hp and was mated to a Quaife Syncro box. I bought the car as a successor to my mighty 98bhp crossflow narrow body, which I competed with for a year or so before being made an expert in the Speed Series after 2 wins, those were the rules back then! 235hp was a bit of a step up, but after a few pant painting outings with Mike’s words of “be careful or it’ll bite” still ringing in my ears a reasonable amount of success followed eventually winning the Speed Series outright in ’09 after further development and more power, a Quaife Dog Box and 262hp Following the success of the ’09 season, I took a little time off and just did favourite events for a couple of years, chasing championships, moving house, getting life in general all come at a cost. So where are we going with the ad’ I hear you say. WELL, the biggest developments came in 2012 when a very good friend said, my dad says you can have that engine in the workshop if you’re interested….and here the journey to 357hp begun. Two years spare time lost in the workshop, developing parts, engineering them, trial fitting, many late nights, a whole load of goodwill and a substantial amount of money later, the SuperTec was born! Not for the faint hearted, this car will do 0 – 60 in 2.5 seconds and will get you to 100mph in under 5.7 seconds, it really is that quick! Spec as follows: Engine Freshly rebuilt in 2020 and still to be run in! 2.0 Supercharged Duratec now producing 357bhp on NMS Rollers (525kg car) Carillo Steel Rods Supertech Pistons – Brand New for 2020 Newman Cams Cosworth Steel Crank Uprated Valves Uprated Springs Rotrex C30-94 Supercharger on Custom lightweight mount 750cc Injectors Custom 4-2-1 Exhaust with 50mm headers Titan Dry Sump Titan Oil Pump SBD Dry Sump Tank All Newly made Braided oil lines with matt black couplings Small Lightweight Denso Alternator on custom Bracketry TTV 1 Piece Custom Crack pulley, keyed to suit crank All Custom engine Mounts – engine solidly mounted Bespoke Motorsport Wiring Loom Custom PCCB Delete plate Throttle Bodies Bespoke Polycarbonate Plenum Bespoke Aluminium Intercooler Upgraded Golf Radiator Lightweight Plumbing with Co-ordinating Blue silicon hoses, (Water and Air) Davies Craig Electric Water Pump and controller DTA S100 ECU Controlling Engine and Sequential Gearbox Traction Control – wet and dry with interchangeable dial switch settings, Launch control 10 Litre Foam filled Fuel Tank Fuel swirl Pot High and Low Pressure Fuel Pumps 7” Superclutch SBD Lightened Flywheel Always run on Millers Nano Grade Motorsport Oil Brand New Magnecor leads and plugs It's also worth noting that the car is only running 0.7 bar of boost, there is a lot more power to unleash with fairly minimal effort or expense . 14. I totally agree with all said above by Andrew and The Captain. That said, lets us hope he can make the best use of this chance and especially avoid whining on the radio complaining to the pits that everything is wrong and nothing is his fault as that tactic is worn out.

  17. A fantastic car with an engine and gearbox package that would be in excess of the sale price by a vast margin. Sorry to see it for sale, but someone will get a bargain and a super fast car! Good luck with the sale and don't be a stranger Rich.

  22. Ha ha nice try! The last time I checked, plastic wasn't magnetic. 😎 Neither is my Stainless steel exhaust, my aluminium alternator brackets etc. 🙊 I'm pretty sure it would stick to @Greenstreak-Andy D's bent bolt though!👌

  23. It was a lucky strike @Julie Hall - Peak District AO, took a redundant fixing out! Ouch. previous owner fitted the seat forward of design intent. I moved seat to correct position and used an old bolt to block the hole. Phew! Andy

  27. Two and a half years ago, my poor neighbour lost control of his MGB in Wales. The corner on the B road he was going around turned out to be slick with cow poo and he slid off (Aquapooed? Poo-planed?) at 15mph into a gate post, which screwed the front end something awful. He then spent the next two years rebuilding and repairing it - I helped him - and it was back on the road this spring. 👍 On Friday night in London, he was driving in a 20 mph zone when a driver doing 50 mph blew a red light and hit him and ricocheted off into some street furniture, then ran off, leaving his car behind with an empty vodka bottle and pot paraphernalia inside it. This was the result: My friend is determined to rebuild it, but he’s understandably gutted.
