Great turnout today 14 Westfields and some good racing on the track

Sorry, needs to be a bigger post to make our efforts and the rewards worthwhile. others may have a different view 😄

Just want to say a big thank you to bigskybrad! He happily let a stranger turn up at his house and poke around his car, then took me out for a wee blast around as well. Spent a good three and a half hours with this very nice chap today and I’m very greatfull for his knowledge and insight in Westfield ownership. Hopefully once my own motor is sold, I can join the fold properly! Cheers Paul

Fingers crossed that Luke gets his car fixed soon, Nigel too and that Trevor gets sorted also. That left Andrew, Andy, Billy, Martin and Rob with Lewis meeting us at Hassop where the queue for cycle hire came right around the corner by 9am, keen eh. Hassop Station is positioned right on the disused railway line which is perfect for cyclists. We were on 4 wheels today on this very clear, cold day, with the sun and shadows bouncing off the hills making the scenery rather beautiful. Hassop Station, Andy's car centre front has had a new windscreen fitted after receiving what looked like a bullet hole in his last one. After breakfast butties and lashings of tea it was time to move it. With all the tourists predictably in Bakewell and Matlock Bath it was easy to avoid them, we simply went in the opposite direction. It was a good run, I took off at one point, makes for rather light steering that does. We checked the car over as we cleaned it later and the welded wing stay has broken again with only paint and the solid pipe inside holding it together. You use 'em you break 'em and you cover 'em in cow cr_p, rinse and repeat hopefully for many years. There had been more cows on the road than traffic We finished up at The Bull I Thorn again, sound in the knowledge that we could comfortably social distance there, even on a Bank holiday Or is it sound in the knowledge that we could eat lots of cake, we wrote off the orange and almond cake today, only Andy couldn't wait until the camera came out, tut, naughty. Chris and Mo joined us as we spread across 4 picnic tables A few of @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO's friends met here before their own much larger meet with BPJ a few miles down the road. They were friendly and invited us to join them, which we thanked them for but declined. We were far to busy admiring Chris's car with it's shiny new headlights and chrome roll bar, highly polished it soaked up the sun beautifully. Thank you Lewis for taking some lovely photo's on the move. It really has been another amazing day, thank you folks.

Hmm, i was never too sure, but black is growing on me. I have had BRG and maroon Westie‘s too. BRG with minilites looks cool and imo retro. Andy ps still looking for a photo of my first BRG one

Yes got back earlier than expected. Thanks to all the guys I picked up from and good to meet you all. Over a thousand miles in 24 hours with a few hours sleep on a transit front bench wasn’t the best weekend ever but good to get everything picked pick. 😂

Thought it was a great turn out all things considered today, and a good Gold Cup. Different, to normal, obviously, but still really enjoyed it. Great to see familiar and new faces, too. See you tomorrow!

It’s all a matter of Taste ,some people don’t have any but White is definitely the best (although all colours matter ) 🙄

Wow that was a lot of fun! Took it to a track day today (err I mean gave it a full day Italian tune-up), and aside from being a tad underpowered in the straights, it's ridiculous what it will let you do in the corners. I think I had more fun today than I've had on a track day for a very long time. To top it off, the heavens opened towards the end and I went from being the slowest thing out there to the quickest. And then it flooded and I was the only thing out there. Then they closed the circuit the spoilsports. This thing would have run circles around the ark I swear. It was ridiculously competent in those conditions. Anyway, I've reduced the price to reflect that it now definitely wants 4 new tyres soon. Though part of me still wants to keep it, I've just got no more space on the driveway. Now that I work from home, it's lost it's commuting role so despite being enormous fun as a stand in track car, I can't keep it.

Simple mistake on my behalf, trying to move my oil pressure sensor off the block 🤦‍♂️

I won’t make it now tomorrow as my engine is no longer oil tight 😞 hopefully catch you all soon!
