What’s all this talk of loading up cars and trailers! Am I the odd one out who’s daft enough to drive the track toy to and from the track! Hopefully some of you kind folk will let me store my fuel and dry cloths in a van/garage/trailer! See you in the morning I’ll be aiming to arrive between 7-7:304 points

Received another email today from MSV, saying my e-ticket has been issued and should be printed. I had previously printed out my display vehicle pass but the later one is different, it has our stand reference on it, which is E2. Double check that you have the correct pass.2 points

Thanks Gary, I've always found forums to be a great source of information for particular cars over the years. I have bought cars due to them being known, but equally have walked away from cars based on them being known, in the wrong way................................I wasn't wanting to breach any forum guidelines on my first day! I'll save that for later in the week! 🤣2 points

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T OPEN THE CAR Vs BIKE ENGINE CAN 🙂 Seriously, I think thats great budget.....personally wouldnt get hung up about the BHP figures just yet. I would buy on the merits of the car as whole....Build quality, suspension set up, brakes, wheels, interior.......Certainly Zetecs and XE are well known, and either can be tuned to 200bhp, but both in standard form are areound 150bhp (assuming ITB's). The duratec is a generation on and has the added advantage of being lighter as it's all alloy. I would also be looking for a fuel injected car at that price range. Good luck.2 points

Hi All, I've just signed up, so hi to one and all! I've recently decided to buy a Westfield, in fact, only over the past week, and thought this would be a great place to be and great community to be involved with. Now, the biggest problem is, what to buy, there are so many permutations of the Westfield it's a minefield to me at the moment. Having had many fast cars over the years, and enjoying track days the length and breadth of Europe, I need to have that in my life again. With a huge change in career and lack of free time, I cannot justify having an expensive daily with track ability sat at the door, so I am now looking at Westfields, naturally! Knowing the engine quite well, I started looking for a 2.0XE engined car, but looks like the 2.0 Zetec seems very popular and a little more tunable, is that a fair assumption? Now standard or ITB/Carbs is the next question............................... I'm gonna be having a few socially awkward nights with the Mrs whilst I scan the classifieds looking for the new toy! Haha. I will need something around or just over 200bhp to scratch that itch!! Is that achievable with a budget of around £10-12K?? Looking forward to some involvement. 👍1 point

If you're wanting to go and just looking for someone to "help" .. I'm free. If all I need to do is give your name to the gate guard I'll happily do it?1 point

Done if a few times but only to local ish tracks. But after one clutch imploding & one blown engine I wouldn’t go without my trailer. You may be a tad damp before you start but you welcome to chuck stuff in the trailer & borrow tools etc.1 point

I forgot to say that for track use especially, the performance of a Westfield is going to depend more on the gearbox and the gearing than the outright max. power. There is so much on this boardroom about gearboxes and gearing, that I'm not going to attempt to advise you her, but do bear that in mind. And not just the gearbox, but the final drive ratio as well.1 point

I agree - the car has a pretty good spec - quite a bit of money has been spent on the right bits (especially the gearbox - if the owner / builder has spent wisely on the bits that are listed, they have probably also spent a few quid on the engine) I would also want to know more about the engine - seeing as it's on throttle bodies and an Omex (not Omen...) ECU, it must have been mapped, so I'd be wanting to see the dyno graphs The tyres are probably OK for a road car that's used in all weathers, but not so clever on a powerful car that's going to spend time on the track. If I was buying a car predominantly for the track, I'd probably want to change the seats - the ones fitted are built for comfort, not support.1 point

we’re camping at the circuit but plan to get a bite to eat locally if you want to join (and have any recommendations!)1 point

As above that looks a cracking car, don’t be shy about putting a link up to a car your interested in or if you have any queries or questions1 point

Yep - That looks like a a really good spec.....Very track focused, Dry sump too........Obviously you need to see it in the flesh, but fantastic spec....cant fault it.,1 point

http://www.sovereigncarsales.co.uk/Replicas_Gridpos21.aspx This seems like a well sorted car??1 point

Built properly a bike engined car will be no weaker than a car engine. It will also be the best choice for a pure track tool. Lightweight and with a built in sequential box. Im just out by the airport if you want to have a nosy round a car and try some fibreglass seats. Although mine is more a road cruiser than track toy1 point
