And all the weather sites, start to align themselves... there is a general consensus that will be 100% dry from 10am, and very little chances of rain from 6am to 10 am. If my understanding of british weather is about right, it will be bone dry till 10 and then will be biblical rain from 10 onwards. Isn´t it?4 points

Thanks everyone for another great morning out, and to @Julie Hall - Peak District AO for organising. See you all soon.4 points

Hoping AndyR's child picks up, you would have liked parking at The Bull I Thorn as there was a Porsche Targa 4S there with fancy roof moves. Blimey, listen at me becoming knowledgeable on Porsche types. I was hoping that someone from further back took some photo's because there was so many of you Glen had no chance of getting you all in, so thank you @Si.Dalziel and @neptune they are good ones. If it helps you feel better, Simon, we called in Calver crossroads for a brew with Andrew on the way home because the weather was still warm and bright, only to go running to the cars in heavy rain and getting very wet on the way home. Sounds of 'urgh, it's just gone through to my pants' made me wonder if we should have put the roof on. We found Andrew in the petrol station en route to Hassop and Andrew let me park his glorious V8, I did find reverse eventually. Then the scallywags arrived en masse For once Ian was visible in his car Simon came in his brand new Honda engined Tango Machine with a superb number plate Dave Eastwood too Luke Labrat in his V8 which has nicely been raised off the floor since we last saw it, making it more driveable Billy in his Olde Englishe Cream car, not as comfy as the Porsche maybe but fits in much better So in a fashion most of us are here What's that? a classic mini I see, it's Glen's son, who came to see what these funny cars his dad likes are all about. He also has a garage full of polish and tyre black. After morning refreshments and a wave at the Morgan club, who were gathering nearby, it was time to shift these stationary motors So off we went in convoy, up hill and down dale, round the 1st/2nd gear hairpin that I had promised Rob a couple of weeks ago, did we enjoy that one boys? the moody skies making for great views while amazingly staying dry. Finally arriving yet again at The Bull I Thorn, well where else can take all you lot safely? I lost count of the number of cars and people, not to worry it was cake time. At the Bull I Thorn All too soon it was time to leave Builder Andy had hitched a ride from Simon, probably the most motivating thing you can do, I hope you enjoyed it and we look forward to seeing you again We look forward to seeing you ALL again, perhaps next weekend when it is a Bank Holiday, so we will meet and go before any traffic builds up, watch out the Magnet is still in circulation! although I am glad to report there was no takers this week.2 points

Exactly the same again just a newer version. This one was going to be put in my partners track MX5 along with a sizeable turbo. However, with a young child and other priorities we now know this would not happen anytime soon, so the car and parts are up for sale. Also to add the dash and data logger are now sold. 😀1 point

Still trying to get hold of the seller of the tub I am buying to confirm a pickup this weekend. Everything else in place. Will put up a separate thread asking folk if they can get in touch with him. He hasn’t been on the forum since 16/08.1 point

Glad to see you all had a good time and that you are learning to appreciate zee-Germans (there is nothing wrong with seeing us in your mirrors @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO😉). I nearly went for the Targa 4S as it's a beautiful version of the 911 ... however the fancy roof limits the head space for the rear passengers and in the back of the 911 you need all the space you can get to make it a viable "family car" 😉 Evie is still struggling but you learn to roll with the punches ... hopefully the next couple of days we will see some improvement and I can get out for a drive at the weekend 🤞1 point

I can't that you all enough for having me tag along. Such a friendly bunch of scrumping Westfield fans! Thanks to my mates @Si.Dalziel and @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO for the support and terrifying me and motivating me all at the same time. A rare feat. I'm now busily organising myself to get the rest of my build done! Mucho excitement!!!! See you all soon.1 point

... I think he expected me to stop because he started driving out the junction . I did stop. but in front of him.. His mrs was feeding the swear box with coins at that point. I should have offered him apples, that may have helped?1 point

Fully understandable @jeff the joiner, we'll all have to fend for ourselves! We've been spoilt in previous years by the excellent facilities provided by you and the rest of the gang 👏1 point

Brilliant trip out today - thanks @Julie Hall - Peak District AO for organising again. Good turn out. Sorry to not say cherio to those that left before I could say goodbye. Baptism of fire regarding my Uniroyal Rainsport 5 tyres! Wet feet from the leaky scuttle (upto the knees). M1 visibility nil. A1 little better. Avoided the cars stranded in big puddles (4x4 Audi). Stuck to the road well. No aqua planning. Felt solid. So far so good. Now to dry out a bit in front of the Aga with a coffee 😀😀 Westfield driving in the rain can also be fun - just a different challenge.1 point

Another great run thanks @Julie Hall - Peak District AO I had a damp start leaving Stoke-on-Trent at 7:30am, today. It wasn't brightening up, as I passed the winking man either: As I approached Flash (ahhhhhh), it was getting foggy: Just as I got into Buxton I came across my first car on my side of the road (after 20 miles driving too), a glint of orange from a distance gave me a clue, it was @Si.Dalziel Si, refuelled in Buxton and we were shortly joined by @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary for a short run to Hassop Station. There's always someone the wrong way round 😉 I've been more than concerned about this 'Peaky lot' for some time and recent behaviours involving items dug up in a garden have more than heightened my fears! Here's @BillyPee Scrumping Apples- trying to loose his Buffet Slaying reputation and going all healthy! He's not alone- Arkwright, even provides plastic bags for his produce! What G, G, G... Granville will make of all this I just don't know. I want to talk cars, petrol, driving etc, not peddling fruit etc. Here's @AndySheldon trying on the Tango Express for size The Owner of Hassop Station was keen to take pics as we left...probably to report Arkright for vegetable abuse I went at the rear of the convoy (make's a change not to be followed by Zee- Germans). As @Si.Dalziel was treating @AndySheldon to his first ride in a Mega S2000, a though a fly by would be in order- Shortly afterward Arkwright passed, too. I don't want to accidentally ingest my '5 a day', should his load of dodgy wares fall out of his delivery truck. Baguss's misbehaviour continued There's a great view to the right of the road giving plenty of view ahead, we'd got a few un-invited guests in our convoy, @LukeW was too busy looking at his water temps and @RobH72 was staying with his fellow Red S2000, so I went passed the lot of em. We had a brief stop in Tideswell for temporary lights and I'm parked in the exact spot that I broke down in a few years ago when my ECU Died. We had a great lunch at the Bull I Thorn and created our own S2000 Only Parking area- The Journey home became mildly moist: However I'd rather go out on great roads, with great people and occasionally get soaked, than sit and home regretting not going out!1 point

Not my taste at all, but looks no worse than all the Westfields with half a lawn mower sticking out through gaping holes in the bonnet! In fact, as the turbo monstrosity isn’t too visible from the driver seat, it probably looks a lot better than the BEC airboxes sticking out all over the place. He May be lucky and find a buyer at that price, but it’s so tightly focussed on what it is, it’s going to be a hell of a struggle , I’d have thought.1 point

As you are all aware the Speed Series was cancelled so there will be no awards this year. If the Covid situation had improved we were hoping to have a dinner get together and a few drinks to remember the season that never took place! It is clear that tis will not now be possible so the dinner has been cancelled.0 points
