  2. Hi all - just to introduce myself as a new member of WSCC. Recently purchased a Westfield SEIW with a Ford Zetec 1800 engine. It’s my second Westfield having previously owned a 2.0 Pinto 2003 to 2004 (short lived because as I didn’t have a garage, I used to keep it at work which was a 45 minute drive away) . A friend purchased one about 8 weeks ago and a trip out in his, convinced me to get another (especially as I now have a garage 😊) and we have had a few great drives out in both Westfields around Worcestershire & Shropshire in the last couple of weeks. The forum was a great resource prior to my purchase, and I look forward to getting involved. Cheers Terry

  4. How could anybody be pro Trump? Both his actions and in-actions have done a great dis-service to the people of the USA and to my mind he has brought the Office of the President of the United States into disrepute.

  5. Spent a while working in the Netherlands and they are all set up for cycling. If a cyclist and a car collide, the law is on the side of the cyclist. The onus is on the car driver to prove their innocence so car drivers give cyclists right of way at junctions and roundabouts, and plenty of space. Dashcams are commonplace to show who is at fault in an accient. But then the cycling mentality is different in NL, we have lycra clad MAMILs riding everywhere as if it was a race at 90% max heart rate on skinny tyres and carbon frames that are too delicate to take on potholes. Dutch riders pace is more like walking, people aren't blowing out of their behinds and ride in their normal work clothes to work with waterproofs over the top, they ride to the shops, ride to work, ride to the pub, do their shopping on cargo bikes, kids all cycle to school, cars are only used for distances beyond cycling. I'd love to see people switch from cars to bikes as a default method of transport for shorter distances and cyclists switch from the race mentality to a calmer, regular transport mentality.

  11. hi guys, thanks for the comments. Been talking to Patrick over at Westfield. I sent him some pictures and descriptions as I brought the seats and harness's from Westfield, he stated he had never come across this problem before. However he is having some longer harnesses made for me (free of charge) he has also change the description on the website to state possible issues.

  24. 😎 but an evening at Brands Hatch. Always a crowded track on evening sessions, just Stuart (storvite) and me, although he's not seen on these videos, never caught me up 😁. Being in the evening, the low sun blinded us when going round clearways, couldn't see a thing so lucky I know how the track curved round and onto the finish straight, on the go pro footage sees more more than I did. Last 30mins of the session was a lot clearer,

  27. Went to the first post-lock down 'Wirral and North Wales' meet at the Tudor Rose last night which went well. Fixed outdoor seating meant we where at either in a set of four at 1m distance, or a good 3m away, but a few of us had or own folding chairs or took one from inside, so we could get the 10 of us at approx 2m nominals. Couldnt join the run-out beforehand as my car is still in bits, but we had around 5 westfields in the carpark. Daniel

  30. Great to hear my old car is still in circulation...well done Pete and Chris (RS250). This just goes to show what a flexible friend a Westfield can be, and what a great hobby and club this is. My wife and I built and used the car purely for touring with the standard 115 BHP engine (95 % on the continent, some wonderful trips over several years) and then Pete was able to change its character and turn it into something far more potent. The collective will be pleased to hear that after a couple of Westie-less years I've placed a deposit on another kit - just need to move house (hopefully) before I specify the delivery time and location!

  31. Well what can I say.....the car is absolutely brilliant. A real credit to the work of the original builder and the brilliant work done by Peter on the engine. Just done a nice 300 mile trip and loved every second of it. A massive thanks. I am so thrilled to bits

  35. I think most of us will accept Rolling Roads can all show differing results, if you took it to where @CosKevgets his done it would have been well over 300bhp

  36. To be fair they often do more than just a bit of spit n polish - and will have a selection of cars in one place to look at and try. Of course they will be dearer, but you pay your money and make you choice. 😁

  37. Had it on the rollers today. The lambda was a bit rich across the whole range and with the ECU being locked by Omex he couldn't look at the timing, but he expects it is also a bit on the safe side like the fuelling. He says it needs some throttle enrichment to do away with the pop/kick when rolling back onto the throttle. It pulled 213bhp today which isn't that far off and if he could map it he thinks there's a bit more in there. The VTEC is clearly operating, although I'd done some testing over the weekend which made me confident it was. I'll do my trackday at the end of the month at Blyton then look to send the ECU back to Omex for unlocking. I'll book back in for a tweaking across the map once it's back. It looks like I was being a bit unfair to the car. I guess I haven't been driving it as Honda intended on the roads too. It'll be far easier to keep it up in the revs around a track. If the map tweak and a few trackdays don't blow me away then I might have to ask Santa for some TTS vouchers...
