Day 2 updates, it was noticed the car was running slightly warmer then usual on the run up especially when hitting traffic! Having spoken with @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO Who I believe asked around the wider s2000 audience we believed thermostat could be the problem. With that in mind and the remoteness of our location. We decided not to attempt to remove it there. Instead a stead run from durnoch to Durness stopping regular intervals including John ogroats puffin cove the nuclear power plant and tonge. total mileage was a tiny 250ish by the time we found a spot to camp for the night. our morning view whilst enjoying. Breakfast. roads up to John o groats! light house at John o groats just across from the powerplant I think this bay was called sandside bay! view point just outside of tounge, lovely clear water! just south of Durness searching for a decent place to camp. the brave pill pill was then taken, and the thermostat removed to help cooling! camp for for the night with successful removal of thermostat and a quick road test! Enjoying a wee dram at the top of a nearby hill to round offa great day! That picture was taken at 22:10 and still so light 👍🏼6 points

Day 3s shenanigans! Saw us travel from just south of Durness to just outside of sheildaig via advreck Castle, Ullapool for a spot of fish and chips lunch👍🏼 and a short walk uoand around stac polldaih, then onto laide, Poolewe, gairloch, along loch maree to kinlochewe. In all 200 miles ish and some fantastic views. The car was running better without its thermostat so we could enjoy abit of vtec action and get her singing! just before breaking camp in the morning. Advreck Castle! run down toward Ullapool! short walk up and around here, absolutely stunning. We then got wet! But the rewards meant this! just before our decent into torridon area! and finally our camp for the night hands down the worst spot we could have picked, we were swarmed with midges from the off hounded by gale force winds through the night and met with a royal downpour when we woke 😞. However we were still smiling just about.5 points

I probably take the prize for the smallest garage, but the Westie fits...just! My car's been kept in storage since I bought it last September, which has been a real pain. 20 min drive to the storage place and then faffing around with ramps to get it in and out of the container meant that a short blat, or a quick job wasn't possible. However, there was a small space in between my house and the neighbours, just big enough to build a double garage for my westie and his bikes. Perfect lockdown project! Still got a few snagging jobs to do, but the car's now home and I'm £130 a month better off!3 points

Now that Government advice, with respect to Club/Organisations meeting up has been updated, I’m pleased to say, that provided the weather is OK, we will be having our first post-lockdown meet, 7.30pm at the Golden Pheasant, Plumley. Do, PLEASE check the forum on the day, before leaving though, as if the weather should be really bad, we may have to resort to our Skype meeting, instead.2 points

Meet at The Bull I Thorn, Ashbourne Road, Hurdlow, Buxton, SK17 9QQ at 9am on Saturday 1st August 2020. This Covid 19 secure venue serves breakfast from 8am and even has a campsite attached if you want to make a weekend of it. It is on the A515 Buxton to Ashbourne road, the next turning North of Tagg Lane. There are 3 entrances into the same car park, so if you overshoot don't worry! Really look forward to seeing you there, who is coming? Julie2 points

I will keep an eye on them @Trevturtle, they will definitely 'Go Large' they aren't even aware that a breakfast comes in a 'Small' size. @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary I am trying to visualise that one, a Zoom Wedding, do you wear a suit, shirt and tie etc? @neptune @Andy_R @Si.Dalziel hope to see you all soon @AndrewBClarke and @BillyPee set those alarm clocks!2 points

Sorry @Julie Hall - Peak District AO I can't make this weekend. Thought you'd like to know that I got very bored during lockdown and part exchanged the 2019 Porsche Cayman for a 2019 Porsche 911 4S (992 - new style). The main dealer was trying to raise cash I think as I got a very good deal on a car that less than a year ago cost £118,000!! 0-60 in 3.4s so I might now be able to keep up with @Ian Kinder (Bagpuss) - Joint Peak District AO 🤞 Hope all is well with you guys and hope to see you soon.2 points

Thats because @Stu Faulkner and I both like the same kind of pizza. It’s known as the Domino’s effect. 😛2 points

See, this is what happens. Allow one to get away with this sort of thing and before you know it, they’re all at it.2 points

Can't get my head around wanting to fly and go on holiday. My attitude to the risk has stopped some way short of sitting in an aluminium tube for many hours with unknown persons.2 points

Hello Guys, New Westfield owner inbound. I've bought the red Mega S2000 from Toybox. I have a few cars but fancied a track day car and this fitted the bill. Unfortunately I'm not blown away by the performance so far and I think there may be a fuelling and/or VTEC issue. I've spoken to Toybox about it but didn't get too far. I'm trying to communicate with the OMEX 630, but missing the GIN file apparently. Hopefully Omex tech support can help when I can get through to someone. I'm sure I'll have plenty of silly questions over the coming months. Cheers!1 point

Day 4 (the best day yet!) sheikdaig to Neist point (isle of Skye) via fearnmore, applecross, strathcarron, kyle of lochalsh, Portree, a walk up old man storr, onto duntelm, back through uig, Dunvegan. another huge day driving and a very very wet and miserable start the tent might as well have put itself down with the high winds we suffered through the night. It hammered it down whilst loading up the car but we were soon at applecross where we met with glorious views down the valleys towards loch carron! On from here toward Skye bridge the weather picked up before the sun came out as we got to Portree. As we ate lunch it hammered down once more before the sun came out and we headed north to old man storr. Short walk up there again met with high winds and heavy rain meant we were soaked once again climbing into the westie! The short blast north to duntulm and we were met with more sun and stunning views of the north and west coast of Skye before finally choosing our camp spot for the night around neist point and what a great spot it was! Great end to a somewhat unpleasant days drive in the westie! beach at applecross! roads up up from applecross and down toward loch carron!1 point

Thanks guys. All good tips and I'll check my dash firmware soon. I've managed to speak to the ECU now with the file from Omex. When I was on the phone he also mentioned that they would updating some of the hardware on my particular model due to a cutting out issue and now I'm thinking this might be the root of it. Took the car for a quick spin and maybe I'm being a bit harsh on it. I was booked in at a local mapping place on Monday but given the ECU is locked out I called in to cancel. They said they'd be happy to do a power run and check the lambda throughout the rev range which, if the headline figures and fuelling are good, will make me feel happier about taking it to the trackday before shipping off the ECU to Omex to get it fettled. I can then get the car bespoke mapped once it's back.1 point

After being roundly condemned for acting too slowly and not quarantining people coming into the country in Jan, Feb and early March, during which time Spain had reported less than 2000 cases in total, the government is this week roundly condemned for acting quickly and quarantining people when cases in Spain spike to about 2000 new cases daily! The ‘Confusion’ over summer holiday plans must end - it seems we are disappointed in the government for not being able to tell this virus what to do and when, so people can book holidays with confidence! When the message went from ‘Stay at home’ to ‘Stay at home except in these circumstances’ the government was roundly condemned because the message was too complicated. On giving out the simple message ’14 days quarantine if you have been anywhere in Spain’ the government is roundly condemned for not taking a more granular approach’ Hey Ho!1 point

i weren't that impressed with the AR-1s to be honest. i found the pressures when warm fluctuated alot. and i dont think they gave as much feedback or grip as the r888r. i used to set the pressure of the r888r and it would be the same all day1 point
