I probably take the prize for the smallest garage, but the Westie fits...just! My car's been kept in storage since I bought it last September, which has been a real pain. 20 min drive to the storage place and then faffing around with ramps to get it in and out of the container meant that a short blat, or a quick job wasn't possible. However, there was a small space in between my house and the neighbours, just big enough to build a double garage for my westie and his bikes. Perfect lockdown project! Still got a few snagging jobs to do, but the car's now home and I'm £130 a month better off!5 points

After being roundly condemned for acting too slowly and not quarantining people coming into the country in Jan, Feb and early March, during which time Spain had reported less than 2000 cases in total, the government is this week roundly condemned for acting quickly and quarantining people when cases in Spain spike to about 2000 new cases daily! The ‘Confusion’ over summer holiday plans must end - it seems we are disappointed in the government for not being able to tell this virus what to do and when, so people can book holidays with confidence! When the message went from ‘Stay at home’ to ‘Stay at home except in these circumstances’ the government was roundly condemned because the message was too complicated. On giving out the simple message ’14 days quarantine if you have been anywhere in Spain’ the government is roundly condemned for not taking a more granular approach’ Hey Ho!3 points

Well last Saturday My chosen victim and I chose to set off for the long haul north. Two pals one westie and a tent for some wild camping around NC500! What could go wrong! all loaded fed ready for the off! sunrise over Birmingham airport as we were 5 miles from home. Day 1 was a mammoth. With the intentions to get north of Inverness and do the route backwards spending a couple extra days at the end of the route around Skye before dropping down to fort william to then climb Ben Nevis. The motorway was the chosen route given it meant only a 9/10 hour drive as aposed to 14 if we had avoided them. We had some rain We had some cloud Then we found the north coast roads! 560 miles for the first days driving but what a spot we found to camp! A well earned beer for us both!3 points

Can't get my head around wanting to fly and go on holiday. My attitude to the risk has stopped some way short of sitting in an aluminium tube for many hours with unknown persons.2 points

Meet at The Bull I Thorn, Ashbourne Road, Hurdlow, Buxton, SK17 9QQ at 9am on Saturday 1st August 2020. This Covid 19 secure venue serves breakfast from 8am and even has a campsite attached if you want to make a weekend of it. It is on the A515 Buxton to Ashbourne road, the next turning North of Tagg Lane. There are 3 entrances into the same car park, so if you overshoot don't worry! Really look forward to seeing you there, who is coming? Julie1 point

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52993734 33% from Spain, 80% in all from Spain, France and Italy, practically none from China. Because it isn't the current 'known' numbers that matter, we are asking them them to guess/predict actual numbers, and the next two weeks numbers. Wave 1 was in the country long before we knew it, the seeds of wave 2 could be on their way, or here, from these Spanish holidays. If I see numbers in Spain start to rise day on day, then I look at the curve from wave 1, I need to have reacted yesterday. Just my opinion, Jim1 point

I would of loved to pop along but I'm currently away on holiday in Scotland and have to drive back home on the day your running... Bummer. Might see someone whizzing around as I travel south...1 point

Had word today the numbers might be boosted by some ring-ins (Caterhams, Lotus', and other kits). It will be a sad day when 'others' outnumber the Westies at their own game. Any more (Mc)Westies, or those south of the border, up for a fun day on fun roads? - BBC Weather is calling it a dry day, a blessing given the summer-it-wasn't so far. @ziplob @Robert (bombero) @Hornet600 @McFrancis et al?1 point

In the previous 48 hours cases in Spain had increased by 75% 15 of 19 regions in Spain had seen increases 10 Britons, who tested positive, had just returned from Spain Third of Spanish cases came from night clubs Covid-O conference call between all administrations took place and decided at 16:30 Saturday I think they may have been criticised more if they had not taken action.1 point

I just think its absolutely hilarious that no one told the transport secretary the day before 😂. or that sturgeon was made to look even more stupid by declaring spain safe then 4 days later its not🤣 Just shows how much senior government actually communicate with each other and how decisions are made by shooting from the hip. This government have the biggest majority in ages and they are hell bent on making themselves look as silly as possible.1 point

It is funny if you went into a bank wearing a mask they called the police, now if you don't wear one they call the police, some people are never happy1 point

If we had a decent media they would point out how two faced the opposition is, but that's far too much to ask, as they are even worse.1 point

year to date, 6849 miles recorded on 2 wheels. I try and ride on less busy roads. I get a bit shouty and offer some finger pointing when some one gives me a close one. As a whole I get very few issues, it's just the reality is on a bike you're so vulnerable and other road users don't always appreciate that. Troubles are largely either pure A-holes / mobile phone users. But then there are the inapt on the roads too. These are the ones who are not confident to overtake, when they do it's so slow and close.. I simply try and get out of their way. In the beginning of lock down I had quite a bit of anti cyclist abuse and people swerving at me!!!!! I often don't use cycle-ways and living in Milton keynes we have redways where bikes and pedestrians fight it out. Simply it's safer for all to ride on the road and avoid people with headphones, suicide dogs, glass etc. I was put in hospital 15 months ago when I was passing parked cars and some one opened their car door at precisely the wrong moment. I'd usually give parked cars 1.5 m gap but there had been a van coming towards me turning up a junction. The sharp edge of the door hit me in the chest, I was doing ~ 20 mph. Dislocated my sternum, meaning the lower section was torn from top section, forced in, and pushed up under the upper section. The nice Dr after xray basically said they didn't know what heart or surrounding damage I might have. Assuming I survived the next 24 hours I should be ok. I was fully wired up for almost 24 hours. I only set the alarm off a few times when my blood pressure dropped through the floor. After told not to lift more then 5kg for 12 weeks etc.. Full recovery made now but not something i'd like to repeat. Regardless of fault it's the bike rider who is the one most likely to get killed or serious injured and no one deserves that for hogging to much road, offending some ones eyes or wobbling to avoid a pot hole or even ridding 3 a breast.0 points

It's amazing what a good nights sleep and a kilo of Nivea night cream will do for ones complexion...0 points
