Miracles we can do, the impossible may take longer 🤓3 points

Unfortunately the National Kit Car Show at Stoneleigh is not going to happen this year. An alternative event is the Oulton Park Gold Cup on the bank holiday weekend. Possibly the best event at this circuit and the Wirral and North Wales area have a display stand for up to 20 cars. Come along and say hello, we have tea and chocolate cake.2 points

From the factory, the 100mm Sunburst logo transfer is £3.30 inc VAT. Cheaper than a large frothy coffee.1 point

ten or fifteen years ago, the S2000 was regarded as one of the hardest engine swaps to do in a Westfield. It's become much easier since then, due to Westfield themselves making an S2000 model. However, Westfield had the whole chassis re-designed to suit, so be aware, it's not the same as a standard car, by a long chalk. At least now though, you can buy loads of parts off the shelf, so to speak, to do the conversion. One of the main complications, is that the engine and gearbox are so physically big! When the factory were having the chassis re-developed for the Mega S2000 model, they used one of their existing chassis as a starting point, this was one with the widest transmission tunnel they made, and even then, it had to be tweaked wider! It also had the scuttle area modified to clear the bellhousing. Though most people trying to do the swap on existing cars end up cutting a big chunk out of the bellhousing, and have it plated over, instead. They do work really well in a Westfield though, and it's a hugely charismatic engine...1 point

I’m not sure if you will be able to do a straight swap without doing some chassis modifications or cutting the S2000 bell housing. Cracking car though by the looks of it!1 point

Thanks to a very helpful George at A-Plan (Thatcham), I have renewed my insurance policy at a cost of £135. Additionally, in a very kind gesture due to my wife working for front-line NHS, George sorted an additional discount by way of a thank you. Fabulous gesture and great customer service - thank you A-Plan.1 point

Thanks Dave. I’ve now found an old thread discussing the differences, and I agree that mine is an RAC one. It has only one cross brace, plus rose jointed back supports. And it fits a full hood/cover. Plus it’s been on the car since before a Westfield even offered the track compliant version with double cross braces, no rose joints and thicker tubing. As I won’t be racing my car, and just using it for fun touring, I think I’ll stick with the RAC version.1 point

What you need is sticker saying "Effing Big V8". Loads of "Built Not Bought" stickers about, probably from eBay.1 point

We’d need to see a decent picture to be sure, but I “think” from the pics I’ve seen, your car probably has what’s known as the RAC Roll bar, Ewan.1 point

Have had a couple of days to myself but thought on seeing this thread I should post. On Friday I crashed the car. No damage to me but a fair bit to the Westy. I will be rebuilding but it will not be quick. This means that I won’t be able to come to the navigation weekend. This is the second time I have had to cancel this for two differing reasons and to Brad and Diane I can only apologise most profusely. Have a great time.0 points
