Eventful day. Tiger blew it’s head gasket - guess the egg/radweld didn’t hold. Both Caterhams lost their alternators. One failed the other snapped a bracket. Both got to hotel though. The snapped bracket meant a short ribbed belt had to be used. Unbelievably one of the lads had one the exact right Size! but the roads were sublime! (Even in the wet)3 points

Brought mine home after full lockdown strip and rebuild( rebuilt rear axle and box, new clutch, new suspension and bushes on the back plus new seals and gaskets on the engine). It’s 8 miles from my workshop to home, took the 60 mile route 😂😂😂😂😂. Only problem I have is the backs a bit low and damaged the rear valance on my bumpy lane.3 points

Hey guys! New member/owner from West Lothian, Scotland Been keeping my eyes peeled for a Westfield now for sometime to replace my Integra as my track car. Imported the DC2 back in 2016 and with the value of clean examples on the rise it was starting to feel like a bit of a risk taking her out on track. I bought very rusty S2000 back at the end of 2018, broke it and managed to make my money back on the parts...minus the engine, box etc. I considered building a Westfield mega S2000 kit but in honesty didn't want the hassle of IVA etc. so I set about looking for an SEiW that I could install the f20c engine. A 1999 SEiW popped up for sale less than an hour from me, no build sheet or history but with my intention to use the S2000 engine I figured this was a good bargaining chip. Went and viewed the car and was happy enough to drive it away that day... 2.0L Zetec Raceline Engine 5 speed box Sierra Diff Weber Twin 40s Disc brakes all round Plan to use the car as much as I can for the rest of the summer then strip her down over the winter to do the engine swap and just generally tidy her up, powder coat the suspension arms etc. Engine will be up for sale once it's out so if anyone has any history on the car it would be greatly appreciated. The car has a WSCC sticker on the roll bar so I'm hoping someone on here recognises it and can tell me a bit more about it. While I plan to use the car for track days I will also be looking to do some road trips out to the West Coast etc. so first job is to try and find a windscreen kit (screen, mirrors, wipers etc). then wet gear, doors etc. If anyone can point me in the direction of a windscreen for sale or the best place to purchase it would be appreciated1 point

Earlier this year I made the tough decision to sell my Westfield because of a shoulder injury and old age catching up with me,I was finding it increasingly difficult to climb out of the car. For the last 12 weeks or so I have gone through highs and lows about whether I should get a more user friendly replacement. I traveled the country looking at various cars I looked at Scimitars ,Jag XK 150 replicas etc etc. Anyway yesterday I bought myself a TVR S3 which in my mind is a classic looking mild sports car, I did nearly buy a V8 Chimera but realised I don't need a V8 beast for my intended use. So I won't be renewing my membership but will be lurking from time to time. Thanks for having me, will try and list the bits I have left before I go. Stay safe. Dave1 point

Great to meet up this morning a very well organised and social distanced meeting thanks @Robin (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO1 point

The first meeting took place this morning with a good turnout of cars and a couple of bikes. We arrived at 10AM and followed all the social distancing rules that were set out by the Swan and Cygnet, and as it was a nice day, we decided to sit outside where we could spread out a bit. It was good to get together and have some breakfast.1 point

Calling @Mark Redpath - WSCC Membership Secretary to the thread please... any spares left? (The Summer PDF will go up online when the Autumn issue hits the post.)1 point

There will be, but we don’t normally get them until the next release is out, so we can add them to the archive. There may be some spares, though?1 point

Hello Chris and welcome. I’m between Basingstoke and Tadley, so not far away. I have a 2.0L Zetec Seiw in Chrome yellow (the best colour, apparently) which I built 20 years ago. It’s been off the the road for about a year for some suspension upgrades (life gets in the way). With a few more local Westfield owners popping up I’d better hurry and get it back on the road. I also have a RS Clio 200.1 point

Must have been an emotional occasion for you Gary, it’s a great looking car and no doubt full of memories. Thanks for sharing with us 👍1 point

Hope you have the opportunity to get into Elland Road again in the 2020/21 Season! Glutey1 point

Of all the stupid, avoidable accidents.... Went out for a great blast around the Peak District - got home, parked on the drive, took the bonnet off, went into the garage to fetch some tools, set the tickover, walked back down the drive into the garage and the car tried to follow me The handbrake was on, but I think the brakes must have been fairly warm. As they cooled down, it was enough to let the car roll. Schoolboy error. Pretty sure it can be repaired, but I'm properly irritated with myself, as I spent a lot of time and effort getting the nosecone just right.0 points
