  1. I recently received this picture of my SEiGHT from John Eales of JE Developments, from when he raced it with its 5.2 lt. engine back in the day. Looks like fun.

  3. Some good vids and what a great day!! This is the first time I have actually enjoyed a wet track day. Thanks to Symon for cooking my burgers on Weds evening and also thanks to EBD engineering (Ben?) for the emergency fuel cap, it worked a treat, I was hoping to be able to buy you a coffee but never got the chance. I seemed to be there or there abouts with Andrew, I hope I didn't hold you up at any point? In particular I enjoyed chasing down Mole? in the yellow car in the last session I did. That was the 4 car train session we had late afternoon. Overall a great day despite the weather, roll on Oulton.

  4. For me the key is that most people are mis-understanding what they should be doing and that is because the message from government is either not clear (yes I'll give them the benefit of the doubt) and/or the media reporting is letting us down. The media don't get the benefit of the doubt. As far as I can tell, the rules/guidelines/restrictions are still in place, in so far as we should stay home as much as possible including working from home, and avoid crowded and enclosed places as much as possible. Unfortunately it seems to me an awful lot of people see "restrictions lifted" and re-interpret that to mean "everything is safe". Me, I wear gloves when I leave my house and a face mask when going into the supermarket where I note they are starting to remove the social distancing notices and stickers. That's just dumb. What is my mindset to help me to pay attention and stay focused? My house is safe 'cos I'm taking steps. Everywhere outside is treated like a public toilet... the one in Trainspotting... and that helps focus my mind...

  5. There's always the option of a 3d printed one. Could have a nice recess to attach a horn logo sticker. Could be any size and shape you want.

  6. Do you require it to have a Horn symbol on ? Or would a red non latching mushroom head like this work? https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/push-button-heads/3309035/ p.s. I'd be embarrassed to show my Odometer on here with such a low mileage πŸ˜‰

  7. First video of the day when the car started to cut out under load a couple of times. diagnosis knackered battery thanks to some track side engineering with a spare battery from @EBD Engineering and the handy use of a ratchet strap to hold it in got me going again in the afternoon. as much as it was horrific weather it was still a good day.

  14. From the BBC NEWS Website earlier today Wales' campsites, hairdressers, beauty salons, cinemas and playgrounds are to reopen in the next three weeks. First Minister Mark Drakeford said playgrounds and community centres would reopen from 20 July. He said campsites would reopen on 25 July "provided we make a success of self-contained accommodation" which opens on Saturday.

  16. Some footage from the pintosaurus: First one is the four car train previously seen from @syman84's car. Second one is chasing after @Mole's car with Phil at the helm I believe, until I ran out of steam and the car was low on fuel.. ...and the third one is following @Michael Whitworth. The last run down the start finish straight was nearly my "bad track day" moment when due to the spray, I caught the edge of the track. Speeds were down but it would still be close to 100mph.

  19. Yes they saved the day for me at Cadwell. I did a couple of laps this morning because I thought Blyton was still wet from last night, but it was dry from the off! They were a lot of fun in the dry 😁 But because I’d borrowed them from a fellow member (and didn’t want to wear them out!) I came straight back in and swapped them over.

  21. Yes I had some Avon cr28 on. Worked very well and got well over 40 laps in. Would probs have bottled it with the r888s

  22. That's very true Adam. I maybe wasn't pushing as hard as you probably would, but the good old rain experts felt very safe. My pal Jeff with the Caterham, I think only managed a couple of laps before declaring it unsafe. He was on the same tyres as the Fury, and said it was aquaplaning badly in the standing water. If I'd known how wet it was going to be all day, I'd have left the slicks at home and brought along the crusty race wets.. to do a comparison with the Uniroyals.

  27. Snapped on Sunday driving into a very well organised, socially distanced classic car meet at Statfold Railway Museum. Unusually they charged for each show car and massively capped the visitor numbers but they'd invested a lot of time and money in effective Covid precautions. Pre-paid tickets only, capped display car numbers, personal temperature checks on arrival, one way systems, sensible (enforced) gaps between cars and social distancing marshall's patrolling constantly... All with sign off from the local authorities. At least it shows car meets can be done safely! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
