I was about to give you advice regarding Norfolk broads but then found out after reading your post we were talking about very different things.5 points

Shall we ask for some sort of club sponsoring? By the way... rules aside... how many garages will we have? I booked 1 on my own... just in case... and i think each few bookings they give you a garage for the groups? IF we do hit 20 cars from the WSCC in the day, I´ll do 20 stickers to celebrate the post-apocaliptic trackday.4 points

B~~~~~r Have booked day off on work and personal calendars this morning - ah well, I was a bit slow (as I would have been on track!) Ask your WSCC AO, imo there's enough members to do something. PPPPlease can I have one even if only able to spectate? If I do get onto track reserve, I would not be trailering2 points

Great upgrade, just be carful on how you chose to wire/control the DRL bit. Most if not all DRL controllers are S*** as great come from China, and have some odd ideas. The DRL has to dim the LEDs and there is a legal dit on the DVLA sight you might want to check.1 point

Thanks Si, very useful! Let's see if my old 2009 harness can take the upgrade!1 point

Chris, page 63 of my build diary has a lot of info. My wiring was already bespoke so it may not work for you. If you let me know how you want it to work and what setup you have switches wise I can sort something out. Also check out @Rich201060’s build diary as he also fitted them with a much simpler setup.1 point

I’m in for this. There may be a few of us meeting early and heading over Dukes pass, and travel up to Glenshee via Comrie moor Etc. Not confirmed but was suggested. Bob1 point

I am going through the same pain of trying to sell my TVR - like you I think I have pretty much decided to keep it unless someone makes a good offer and doesn't want a picture of the upper clunge nut (The last interested chap I sent over sixty photos to upon his request of every single part of the car)1 point

After lengthy negotiations with Italian man of company X (names redacted) who sources cars for clients, there was a sale agreed subject to an inspection by English man (name redacted)" not knowing fully who exactly English man (name redacted) was not even his last name I enquired further trying to find out a bit more about him from Italian man (name redacted), Italian man (name redacted) said he owned a company called (name Redacted) turns out there is no (name Redacted) any references I found in a trade directory gave a made up address and dead phone number, so eventually I got hold of English man's (name redacted) last name turns out he was co-owner of (name redacted) which has very dubious writing on Locost Builders forum. English man(redacted) advised he was retired. All I wanted was reassurance about who was visiting my house, looking and potentially driving my car and insurance implications. At this point I received an email from Italian man (name redacted) basically saying I should trust him, his client wasn't willing to accept that I didn't trust them, when it wasn't about trust it was about accuracy and truth. (I read that as he didn't like me digging around and pointing out that he had given me incorrect information). They even wanted another MOT despite this one being valid until mid October because of slow Italian bureaucracy in the registration process that requires a valid MOT. I'd managed to find somebody local via recommendation that were able and willing to quickly MOT the car. I won't go on to mention some other ridiculous messages and offers that arise from advertising cars. So i'm keeping the car, I can't stand the stress of selling! Knock on effect is no Sport 250 build and more money in my pocket, well apart from upgrades that is. Edit: Just received an unhappy phone call from Italian man (redacted) so I've removed all references 😁 Edit 2: Just added context to who or what has been redacted to help comprehension.1 point

Fav B'z track is Slave to the Night from 7th Blues album. Helps that it's in English, but cool solo intro too. Spelt Sandii and the Sunsetz wrong, has a z. David Sylvian from the band Japan (ironique) was influential/involved at some point, certainly on the album I have (Immigrants).1 point

It's the 1st July and that means it's time to turn your WSCC calendar over and see what we get up to in the Peak District as I am 'driving' well 'steering' Bill's mighty crossflow into a safe position for the breakdown truck to pick it up from. @AndrewBClarke @BillyPee @BugMan @Andy Westwood oh what fun we had! plus it goes to prove that we don't 'Top Gear Style' leave you if you break down, well not immediately anyway 😃1 point

After the "incident" I did one slow lap to depo, then checked visualy and trying if there are any bends in wishbones or play on wheels etc. Did not find any and was driving to the end of the trackday 30 or 40 laps more (with best lap of the day edit- here it is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYIt2wP3lQY ) Oil sump is ok, no leaks, lower wishbones - not sure if it was before - a little, very little like-a-banana shape but it is maybe 1mm - 1,5mm on the whole lenght of the wishbone arm. Have to check the geometry as it seems visualy that lefT wheel gains more negative camber while right - a little less, and I got impression that car was driving a little right when hands of the steering wheel, but did not measuret, just visualy. Radiators ok. ARB with mountings ok. All wishbone brackets ok . Rack ok. Some scratches and cracks on the nosecone , bu it was not ideal before. Have to figure out some method of quick and easy mounting from the bottom of nosecone... Have to check the rims while tyre changing I was going to do anyway. So, so far I am supprised (positively) of the rigidity of rally design wishbones and all other components and chasis of Westfield 👍 (the marker was plastic , I have heard that sometimeas such markers are filled with water, but not on this track. )1 point

thanks all for the warm welcome! Ok, further to your helpful comments. I think I want from a Westy is... A Sunday drive sort of car, something to maintain and tinker with in the garage. Maybe also do a bit of touring and have the odd weekend away in the sun and also one that would be fun to have a blast round on my local Lydden Hill circuit or Brands Hatch. I don't fancy an all out race car (bike engine with no reverse), as sometimes it is nice just to enjoy a bimble around the countryside - as I find with the motorbikes too! But it does need to be lively and exciting to drive. Part of me would like to build one too, so I need to weigh that up against buying one complete and just enjoying tinkering and driving. I am sure this site will help loads with technical stuff too! cheers1 point
