Cracking day. Nice to finally get out in the car. Took the morning steady on some old r888 that I had on the pre lit. Then in the afternoon cracked out the slicks. My brain can't keep up with all the gear changes round Blyton but that will come with seat time. Got an exhaust bracket to fix up by cadwell but that was the only drama. Good first outing. Hi Everyone! As you know I've been doing some free printables for kids to colour in … or adults 😉 I haven't had time to do another but... here's one I did earlier! This was actual artwork of mine done back in 2017 of a Westfield which I drew for the office - I've removed my artist's watermark and decided to let it out for free so you can have a Westy! Because I'm nice like that... Yay 🥰 Enjoy! Carlie2 points

Massive thanks to @the stoat for picking these up for me. Used them tonight for the first time fitting a Genuine JCW Exhaust on the Mini. The lift is really well make and gets the car plenty high enough to get under the car (they weren't at the top position), well impressed tbh for the price, all less than £1k.2 points

I agree to a certain extent in that the roads are better on the West but when I did it I wanted to do the full NC500 and do Dunrobin Castle, Walligoe steps, John O Groats. Did all that in a day first (so doing the trip / route in reverse) and then spend longer on the next stages which are better driving roads. Also when starting from Inverness and going on the back road around the Moray Firth don’t divert off at Muir of Ord but keep on going through Dingwall and even take the back road to Evanton and over Struie and come out at Tain (Glenmorangie). That way the road is a lot more interesting.2 points

Good choice, all Westfield cars are Yellow, the others are just mistakes.2 points

After very very much deliberation I've decided to put my beloved Westy up for sale. She's just not getting as much use as I'd first planned and think it's about time someone else can have the grin factor. The car is an 18 plate with 2700 miles. It was built with road in mind, but has got the usual upgrades that would suit track days (1 track day completed in it so far, featured in the club magazine). It has important things for the taller driver like 5cm taller Sport Turbo Windscreen and ST Side screens, but would suit average height folks as well 😀 It has had a couple of cms added to the upper steering column by John Danby racing to bring the wheel closer when the seats are all the way back, as well as a quick release steering boss. Lastly it has JK seats, giving loads of extra cockpit room. The build is fully documented on a web blog, with loads more photos and documentation available. Located in Chelmsford, Essex. Spec White ZK Bodywork with Green race stripes 2.0 Ford Zetec with Omex Throttle Bodies, Omex ECU and Raceline sump 5 speed gearbox Upgraded Wide Track Front Suspension Upgraded 4 pot Brake kit (Westfield black calipers) Limited Slip Differential Upgraded Protech Adjustable Shocks Carbon Fibre Front Wings Team dynamics Pro Race 1.2 black 7 x 15 wheels Sport Turbo Windscreen and side screens (5cm taller) as well as additional Wind Deflectors Extended Upper Steering Column Detachable Steering Wheel MSA Half cage roll bar JK custom Seats Sabelt 4 point harnesses Heater SoftBitsforSevens custom made rear Boot cover SoftBitsforSevens custom made passenger Tonneu Cover Westfield Black Half Hood Coolex upgraded alloy radiator Black carpets Immobiliser and wheel locks 12v power socket Fire extinguisher Oil pressure gauge Oil catch can Chassis treated with Dynatrol anti rust Professional Corner weight set up by MK sportscars in Braintree Bad bits The screen has a stone chip and a small crack and may need replacing before MOT time. (£300 from Westfield) Offers considered. I also have 13" wheel set, and some other spares.1 point

Ya start out watching dancing monkeys and two hours later you've spent half an hour watching this...(because there is some seriously clever people out there, that without Youtube, you'd never get to see their skill). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hW_FbsEG4A1 point

Quite happy with the current mot system. I think people are in the habit now of this yearly enforced safety check and would simply not bother otherwise. Mot’s at a decent garage are very good. Now vehicle tax needs a shake up. Personally I think that should be entirely on fuel. Based on a Westfield which has done about £200 miles this year and a camper which has done less... at least Sorning and taxing is online.. not the old days of standing in a post office que only to be told gleefully that a complete insurance policy is not a certificate of insurance...1 point

I'd imagine they haven't been shipping by air recently purely down to the cargo rates going through the roof. They were up 6 fold at one point. Only now are they starting to drop but are still double the pre covid rate. They'll be on the slow boat from china......1 point

If it's on a boat from the far east then 8 to 10 weeks transit time is plausible, especially if they don't use Suez.1 point

How did you pay? Credit card? If so, take it up with the card company.1 point

Usually “neither” would be a more accurate response. Or maybe “vaguely warm dishwater”.1 point

Yellow one with yellow odd bits and black wheels. Very similar to the factory current demonstrator which is soon to be replaced with a grey one. Factory demonstrator also has a few decals on it and if I do something like that, I will commission my arty daughter in law to design something.1 point

Hi all, I joined a little while ago but have just picked-up my first Westfield. It’s a 1800i Zetec - and it’s a peach! I found the original builder via the forums - just to say hello and to compliment them on the great work! I’ve been grateful for the help and advice that I’ve already had via the forums - so thanks v m. I’m based in Somerset, in sunny Minehead, and looking forward to meeting up with anyone down in this neck of the woods once the madness is over! Look forward to the summer and catching up! Thanks!
