Having said that - when I was waiting to get my wristband the javelin bloke was giving the “obviously a race team lad” a very strict talking to and words to the tune of “legally signed agreement... stand up in court... it’s not a test day... novices...” etc. Didn’t make them drive any better but he tried 🤣

It wasn’t too bad. I managed to get quite a few sessions with clear track including just after lunch when I was first out. Seems nobody realised lunch was over as I got 3-4 laps in all alone before other cars started to appear! Also had a really good chase with a Caterham who was slightly quicker on corners than me but slower on the straights - so I could improve my lines by emulating his. GoPro was off though 🤬 There were quite a few race teams out who were less than courteous - but easy to spot so I just made sure I kept clear. The cortina has a Lexus V8 in it. Doesn’t half shift! So here’s another. The blue Porsche was good on the straights 🙄

Hello there, I just wanted to introduce myself as a new user of the forum. I live just outside Basingstoke and am the proud owner of a factory built 1999 SEIW 1800 Zetec Westy. I bought the car last year and there are various bits and pieces that I want to do over the coming months, but will save that for the Tech Talk forum! It was warm.. busy in the morning with quite a few red flags.. Loads of racers, some fast Caterhams, Radicals etc.. afternoon thinned out and the last hour or so there was some good clear track. Unfortunately by then I was shattered! I could only manage a few laps and had to come in. Early start, too much sunshine, and the heat took it's toll on my old body. I wouldn't do well at Le mans. 😉 My car ran OK.. one major niggle was I lost my oil temp. I think the cable from the sender must be broken somewhere. Worked out OK though, as I think I overheated before the oil. 🙂 Couldn't get parked up close to team Mole, so getting together on track was a bit hit and miss. Mostly miss. I had some problems with the gopro so I lost some sessions, but I've got enough to put something up. Team Mole pitstop.
