Wash and brush up, ready for a warm week

Hello there, I just wanted to introduce myself as a new user of the forum. I live just outside Basingstoke and am the proud owner of a factory built 1999 SEIW 1800 Zetec Westy. I bought the car last year and there are various bits and pieces that I want to do over the coming months, but will save that for the Tech Talk forum! Anyway, just wanted to say hi and have shared a pic of my pride and joy by way of an intro. Cheers.

While googling about for tripmeter apps, I discovered that the UK Porsche Club hold a yearly 'tulip' navigation run around the Cotswolds. Costs £35 for members-only to enter, sells out the limited number of entry slots each year and they get to do 80+ miles 😲 in the luxury of their tin-tops! Here's us 'ard b'stards doing 200 miles scraping our arses on the ground in glorified go-karts! For free!

I can say it was fantastic to see people in the flash, and had great time catching up with everyone and some new friends from NWCOGS Cant say enough about my super wife, Dawn who just takes this sort of thing in her stride. The time has come to sell my Brian James Minno Trailer. This is an ideal trailer for a Westfield, and the bonus is it will fit inside a single garage. I have owned it for three years and it has been faultless. It tows really well. It comes complete with:- Manual Winch which works fine Hitch Lock and padlock Galavanised box and padlock, I had this bolted onto the A-Frame and it just needs bolting back on again. When in position a standard widebody Westfield will fit on without clashing on the box. A full set of 3" ratchet straps and wheel straps. Trailer Spec is:- Brian James Minno Twin Axle. 1380kg Gross Weight 375kg Unladen Weight 1005kg Maximum Load Weight 700kg Maximum load per axle. Whilst I have had it I have:- Upgraded all four tyres with new ones, the tyres are 500kg rated so more than up to the job. I upgraded all of the rear lights to LED's (including Foglamp). I have also added LED position lights to all four corners of the trailer I have widened the bed of the trailer by about 60mm. Basically what has been done is to unbolt the two wheel beds from the frame and then reposition them 30mm wider on each side. This means no wheel rubbing on the side of the beds when loading or unloading a wide body Westfield. Some general photos of the trailer below:- There is everything there you need to simply drive your Westfield onto it, strap it down and tow it immediately. All you need to add is a rear number plate of your tow barge registration number. It is currently in Banbury, OX16 postcode I am looking for £1300 for the job lot. Thanks Gary

For sale is my Westfield SEIW with V8 Bonnet. It has been extensively modified into a fantastic road / track prepped car it is today. The car was built using new components and so registered in 2014 with age related plate. Engine spec.  2.0 litre Ford Zetec black top engine stripped and modified to produce 272 bhp. Mapped / Tuned by Troy at Northampton motorsports to include 4 boost levels easily switched by the touch of a button.  New stage 1 hybrid Turbo cassette from turbo rebuild bolted to boost performance cast exhaust manifold.  JE forged pistons.  Eagle H beam armoured con rods.  ARP rod bolts.  ARP Flywheel bolts  Lightened Flywheel  King heavy duty mains and big end bearings.  Head fitted with new valves, stem seals and shimmed at Cylinder head developments and timed with Turbosport adjustable Vernier pulleys and heavy duty valve springs.  Aluminium Thermostat housing  Raceline aluminium sump.  Custom built / modified Pulsar GTR inlet plenum.  Jenvey 45 throttle bodies running with Omex 600 ECU setup fitted with Bosch Omex 450cc injectors.  Coolex heavy duty 70mm Coolant radiator with silicone hoses and hi flow fan.  Caterham intercooler and custom piping / ducting with Pipercross forced air filter.  2.75 inch custom repack able exhaust made at REEF (£1000) and Zircotec coated.  Fuel swirl pot installed.  Mocal 16 row oil cooler. Drive line.  7 inch 3.9 ratio LSD diff built by Bara motorsport.  Type 9 gearbox with Westfield Alloy gearknob.  Ap racing 5 paddle Ceramic clutch. Braking and suspension.  Running standard track with front and rear anti roll bars.  Gaz shocks with heavy duty springs.  Hi-spec front 4 pot calipers with EBC pads.  Standard Sierra fitment rear calipers fitted with new Ferrodo pads.  Ap racing master cylinder.  Rear Aluminium uprights.  13 inch Team Dynamic 1.2 pro race wheels fitted with Toyo 888R Tyres (approx. 3-4mm tread). Exterior.  Full roll cage from Playskool (built by caged)  Carbon aeroscreen.  4 inch Dominator headlamps.  Softbits for sevens boot cover  Carbon effect rear arch stone protectors.  Carbon effect front wheel arches.  V8 style bonnet.  Carbon effect rear lamp clusters.  Rear lower diffuser. Interior.  Westfield Cobra seats fitted with TRS 4 point harnesses with buckle covers.  Vdo analogue dash gauges.  Longacre Wide view mirror fitted to cage.  Westfield lowered floor pans.  Carbon chassis rail protectors.  Momo quick release leather steering wheel (added security)  Digital Gizmo IBC V4 turbo boost controller and analogue boost gauge. General details.  The car has covered approx. 4300 miles since new however the new engine build has only covered approx. 500 miles with the Turbo plus rebuild completed July 2019.  The car comes with many receipts and build folder.  The engine was built using all new gaskets / seals / spark plugs / cam belt kit / water pump etc.  Full suspension and geometry setup by Northampton Motorsports.  The car is in excellent overall condition and ready to be used.  Great power delivery with 272 bhp and 269 lb ft torque.  Road legal car setup for track however very useable as a daily drive. The car is ready to be viewed and driven away, I am happy to take for passenger road test. Yes was great to see Andrew..showing me the way round as always! I too am absolutely worn out..I thought it was the having fun and sliding around on my Michelin sports!! There were a few red flags but a really good day.. just a shame I couldn't organise myself to follow Andrew a bit more! Noticed an oil leak towards end of day so got to get onto that ready for Cadwell!

It was warm.. busy in the morning with quite a few red flags.. Loads of racers, some fast Caterhams, Radicals etc.. afternoon thinned out and the last hour or so there was some good clear track. Unfortunately by then I was shattered! I could only manage a few laps and had to come in. Early start, too much sunshine, and the heat took it's toll on my old body. I wouldn't do well at Le mans. 😉 My car ran OK.. one major niggle was I lost my oil temp. I think the cable from the sender must be broken somewhere. Worked out OK though, as I think I overheated before the oil. 🙂 Couldn't get parked up close to team Mole, so getting together on track was a bit hit and miss. Mostly miss. I had some problems with the gopro so I lost some sessions, but I've got enough to put something up. Team Mole pitstop.

Yes PCD 108 Ford fitment, tyre size at the mo' are 195 45, a very light combination! the spare is 205 50. Clearance at rear on Sierra Hubs between panel and tyre would require 5mm spacer on 205s, a narrower tyre is no problem.

Hello everybody, I had a trail membership which expired a while ago,and have now decided to cough up the 30 dollars to become a member. I'm looking forward to many ride outs will local groups! I trained as a mechanic in late 70's early 80's so the westfield is just down my street. After many years on sports bikes,thought i would try something i've always fancied so here i am.🙂

I’ll be with you in spirit as I Pootle around Croft. Would much rather be at Donny - but it was just too far for me to do “in a oner” - not really that excited about my day, but I’m sure I’ll have fun. I too am all packed - but only after I realised my removable tow bar was in the compartment in the boot under everything I had just packed! Doh!

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah i've got a car bought it last year fw zetec 2.0l. Both locations are close enough to me😊 Me and mrs went out Saturday and come back like beetroots🥵 Never had a car with no roof before!

The return home after full setup. Nitrons rebuilt and new springs. Can't wait to get on track now
