  1. garage-equipment-group Great bit of kit, no compressor required and can be used at any height. It can even be moved outside if you have a nice flat drive and not enough height in you garage, I was lucky full height is about 50mm less that my RSJ beam

  4. I'll try and write something up when my brain feels better. I have no photos, video or anything! It was a bit of a weird day, not really feeling it (apart from during a monster downpour when the track was very quiet!) for some reason. The covid stiff from an organisational point of view was "job done" IMO, but people mostly acted as normal in the paddock. The no passenger rule was a bit daft, as people who had driven there in the same car couldn't then go out on track together, but understandable under "rules is rules". Yeah, lots of very noisy (and expensive!) stuff there today but still thought I might have had an issue. Can't complain though!

  5. No point in copying anything that came with the car. They could be any old ****e just to sell it and not the best

  7. Sorry to have to break this to Dave and Gary but studies of preschool chidren playing with electronic devices show them readily learning the pinch zoom function and later trying to apply it to a book. As I am now in my 2nd childhood I would do the same if I was adept at using electronic devices.

  9. There’s more Catholic Churches in Las Vegas than casinos. No surprisingly, some worshippers will contribute casino chips rather than cash when the collection plate is passed around. Since they get chips from many different casinos, the churches have devised a system to collect the offerings. They send all the collected chips to a nearby monastery for sorting, which are then taken to the respective casinos to be cashed in. This is done by the monastery’s friars and chip-monks.

  12. I cant do the 12th but if there is an Oulton day the week before (1-9th August) I'd be game! Javelin have an Oulton day, 4th Aug. Tbh though, I prefer MSV days as they tend to run fewer cars.. plus with a five car discount we can get it cheaper. I'd go with the flow though.. 🙂

  13. Hi Guys The Westfield passed its MOT today at Forest of Dean Tyre's with the well know @JulianE who does most of the Westfield MOT in the area 😁 Anyway, I'm now thinking of buying one of those car lifts, not a 2 post lift, but one of those portable/small garage ones (hope that makes sense) Any recommendation?? Cheers Everyone love a photo

  14. Hi all Thought I would share my project I have been working on recently - it's a late 50's petrol pump which I sourced locally and know where it served its time The one on the right is mine - it was really rough but after some work it's coming back to life - it was way beyond a gentle restoration and has need some welding. Going to upload some photos to update you on the progress...

  19. It is the softer of the two.. but the tyres are past their best when we get them. I've used C72 before and they weren't as good.

  21. When that was posted this morning, I double tapped on the pic, but nothing happened. I wasn't annoyed that I'd been tricked, but because someone had posted a dud link. I don't know why I'm admitting to this!

  22. I've been using Pirelli 200/540 or Hankook 180/550 on 8" rims. (Both the same tread width believe it or not!) You could probably do with something narrower on the front I guess. I used to use Michelin 16/54 on 6 or 7" rims on the front but the supply dried up, so switched to the wider fronts. You still see the odd 16/53 Michy on ebay but I suspect they'll be getting on a bit. Have got some Hankooks coming from this seller now. Pal (JeffC) negotiated a bulk buy as he was after a set too.. I forget what they cost but they'll be cheaper than on ebay. Worth giving him a call. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/paultwin82/m.html?item=274332261396&hash=item3fdf7a1c14%3Ag%3ATnIAAOSwWoRej5MM&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

  37. Tech articles are great and one of the main problems is that clever members doing clever technical things can be shy about writing an article because they fear criticism - they shouldn’t be. No one is going to be critical and @PeterOz will do fix any spelling or grammar errors. Please folks, it’s your club and your magazine and it needs your contributions.
