I've spotted a bit of criticism about parts from Westfield recently especially around price so thought I should balance the argument a little. Sunday morning I had a cycle wing bracket fail (long story) so needed to order a replacement. After a bit of tinterweb trawling I decided to order from Westfield that afternoon. Amazingly, the part will be delivered this morning, less than 48 hrs later! Yes I could have saved a couple of quid elsewhere, but what fantastic service! Well done Westfield, and thank you! I'll be back on the road by the weekend 👏👏👏 In contrast, the other items (Sikaflex etc) I ordered on Prime, won't be with me until Wednesday....12 points

We will have an open day, once the factory is reorganised. Moving parts stores around, build bays and a few other areas. Not too sure this year, maybe next.10 points

Stick a BBQ on Pat and count me in. I love visiting the factory. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. You can have a good look around at the cars in various states of build and get advice from the guys. if @Simon Westwood - Westfield Sportscars Ltd breaks out the good China and @Westfield Parts Dept get their silver tongues wagging your wallet might feel a touch lighter when you leave though.5 points

Not sure the wife will let me take my wallet. I might just get some pocket money for lunch 😄 When I had my Subaru the trick was to get the parts fitted there so when you got home it wasnt with a load of stuff. Mrs was non the wiser then 😄4 points

I wonder if they will have another factory open day. I never got to one of the previous ones. Would love to go and have a nosey round.4 points

I'd second that called Parts number on Friday at 5pm and Pat answered bright and sparky even if he is doing night shifts with his new baby boy! After quick chat he had the parts wrapped and paid for - arrived with first post yesterday. Great stuff.4 points

@Simon Westwood - Westfield Sportscars Ltd @Westfield Parts Dept Might be nice, once such things are allowed again, to welcome a little bit of the old world back? And gather at the mother ship!!3 points

Well Blatters it must be different down there. It's not like that in Cheshire. I've had no issue with the police and have spoken to a few and they are fine with it. It's a general effect and seems to be working fine. Anyway thought this might be of humour . Copied from elsewhere If WW2 started today. - Why weren't you stockpiling Merlin engines? - The air raid shelter hasn't been used in a month, the government was clearly wasting money by building it. - "Your country needs you" is ambiguous, I expect to be told exactly what to do. - Why isn't the government specifically considering the impact of the Blitz on minorities? - Just because we've broken off diplomatic relations with Germany is no reason we can't buy army boots from them. We should have stayed in the Third Reich. - You can't make me carry that gas mask, it's against my human rights. - You can't make me carry that gas mask, I'm vegan and the straps are made from leather. - I don't want to wear your issued uniform, my homemade one from old flowery bed sheets is much better. - The air raid siren is frightening my pets, stop it. - The prime minister's spokesman said some numbers wrong, so the whole government effort to fight this war is clearly utterly incompetent. - Why are you restricting my freedom, just because there's a war on? - Why didn't you restrict my freedom sooner, I needed to be told exactly which air raids not to go out in. Simply saying "if bombs are falling from the sky, get to somewhere safe" was nowhere near enough information. - I don't care if the high street has been bombed out, it's my right to go and have a hair cut. - Everything would have been so much better if we'd left Neville Chamberlain in charge, Churchill is a buffoon with a rubbish haircut who loves the sound of his own voice too much.3 points

Hi all, have just joined the WSSC after having been a Westfield fan for 30 plus years, I’m close to owning my first. I fell in love with the original Seven when I entered a competition to win one back in 1985ish which was a treasure hunt to find a final item and destination. That culminated in a visit to The British Transport Museum in Coventry and to find a Westfield Steering Wheel. I think I got the answer correct (time plays tricks on the memory) but alias I didn’t win a new Seven Kit. Several jobs, houses, mortgages & children stopped my desire becoming a reality - but - its getting closer. So I’m looking for a bit of information on a specific car and hope this will be the best forum to find out. As I guess most Westies (apologises if my etiquette is poor) are known to the club. And therefore wondered if anyone has any previous knowledge on a specific car I’m viewing (social distancing and PPE to be maintained) on Friday. The car is a dark blue Seight under reg plate Q871TYE Was looking for any info on history, build and/or knowledge of any previous issues. Any info would be welcomed & thanks in advance. Best regards RickRack Wolves2 points

Alternatively pop into 3 police stations and average the result Correct me if I'm wrong but the new lockdown rules for England state you can exercise more than once per day and drive unlimited miles to take that exercise and drive with someone from your own household....just do some impressive stretches after getting out of the car. Then is the westie drive home essential travel? Well yes because you have to get home and the punishment is to send you home =result. Worst case scenario could be you get stopped and face lockdown breach fine £100 but drops to £50 if paid within 14 days. Trailer hire £50 approx? There's bound to be a flaw in the above as I make mistakes all the time. Good luck Congratulations on getting your westie. Enjoy.2 points

On results so far, the Police appear to be the last ones aware of what the actual laws are!2 points

Just moved our family tintops to A-plan Thatcham on separate policies. Usual excellent service, and for the same cover cheaper than our previous multicar insurance. Gary1 point

I've just changed my home insurance to @A-Plan Insurance THATCHAM after reading this thread (as I thought they only did cars). Better home and contents cover than my previous provider and a great price too. Thanks Kirsty!1 point

I'm now a Westfield owner... bought a 2013 Westfield Mazda SDV in the end. So managed to tick a few items off the list, widebody, fuel injection, removable rear arches and heated windscreen 😀1 point

I carry Holt's tyre weld. Never had to use it, but it's cheap, doesn't need a pump so more compact, and apparently it can be washed out of the tyre so a proper repair can still be done. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Holts-HT3YA-Tyreweld-400ml/dp/B000Y8WB8W1 point
