Hi All, Today the committee have agreed that the Blyton Sprint Weekend and Track Day will be cancelled this year. We have set ourselves a series of requirements and dependencies ranging from numbers of attendees, guidance from Government and MSUK and critically the safety and comfort of all who attend (medics, recovery, marshalls, visitors etc.). It's has been a sad but relatively easy decision to make and I trust you agree and understand why. The committee is keen to move forward with the Speed Series and as things develop the SSOT are constantly reviewing the number of events and any changes to the championship rules. Of course a number of us will have already booked and paid for the Sprint and @John Williams - Blyton Organiser will be along shortly with news on what you can do to arrange a refund. Thanks again for your continued support, understanding and patience.3 points

So this conversion had its first proper test today, and I don't know quite how I have managed it, but when driving its not big enough, my elbow does not sit there..... like at all. When in the design phase I did get in the car and pretended to drive (even making brum brum noises....you've all done it 😉). I ask myself how I can mess up sticking a foam pad but i have. 🙄 (i do have more foam though👍)3 points

Hello All, Jase here hoping you are well and keeping safe. Im just looking for more feedback on the shop if possible, since the lock down started i have spent a lot of time doing some changes to layout ie new headers and sections to hopefully space things out more and to save time in searching through hundreds on parts and also updating images and descriptions to help identify certain parts. Approximately 200 Westfield parts have been added across all sections so if anything is missing PLEASE shout so i can get it added ( i have fw hood frame to add). We have received feedback in the past with regards to Chesil parts appearing when searching, this is something that will change but delayed slightly. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated good or bad so i can put anything wrong right. Many thanks and take care all. Jase1 point

Hi, After reading through the forums and getting some helpful advice, I called A-plan today for a quote. Really helpful people and a really great quote! Thanks for the advice! W1 point

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11593283/teachers-demand-pupils-sprayed-disinfectant-coronavirus/ Gen Sec. of an education Union apparently said "In China, children stand outside the school gates and are sprayed front and back with disinfectant, their shoes are sprayed, they wash their hands with sanitiser, they must take off their mask and replace it with a new one, and their temperature is taken remotely." Asked if a similar regime should be introduced here, she said: "Yes. They're doing that in China and South Korea and they have a minuscule number of new cases." One wag suggested full immersion in sheep dip as an alternative.1 point

According to one source the EU seem to be following the Chinese who have a similar penalty for flag burning. Oh the irony...1 point

No pics but just swapped over from laid up Insurance to normal cover - painless through A Plan this morning btw, and then took it off sorn....still smiling after two separate blats and 50 odd miles... Reason for post - was amazed at how much pressure the tyres had lost - glad I checked them before putting the hammer down! Mart.1 point

Best wait until 1st June or the tax will start 1st May...... Once on SORN you can tax at any point in the month, but it’ll automatically commence from the 1st day of the month you are in. As @Stuart says, no free days. But, potentially, lots of lost ones if you aren’t careful. Taxed ours on 10th May this year, tax started 1st May.1 point

About a week after I moved in to my new (still current) dwelling they announced the global financial crash so I had a small concern about property values. Lucky for me though there was zero danger of negative equity so it was merely that opportunities to move again quickly may have been diminished. But I'm still here so... I worked pretty much hand to mouth from 2008 to 2011 BUT I was in a job which facilitated my career change so I was starting at the bottom... at the age of 44... That got me to where I am now which is a jet-setting globe-trotter responsible for network and internet comms on superyachts so one finds it difficult to complain too much about life being hard... My one regret is that all this got in the way of me enjoying the Speed Series but other than that, life has been pretty sweet...1 point

If the most exciting thing is a posting count race...... Come on Dave !1 point

This overtaking matches F1 for excitement. If the Premier league football season remaining games cannot be played the plan seems to be calculate a points per game table to determine placings. On that basis Dave is just ahead.1 point

Hi All, Today the committee have agreed that the Blyton Sprint Weekend and Track Day will be cancelled this year. We have set ourselves a series of requirements and dependencies ranging from numbers of attendees, guidance from Government and MSUK and critically the safety and comfort of all who attend, be that to compete, play on track or support us (medics, recovery, marshalls, etc.). It's has been a sad but relatively easy decision to make and I trust you agree and understand why. We understand that some tracks are opening for business so whilst the WSCC will not at this time organise or run Blyton, there is nothing to stop you, at your own risk and as you desire, booking onto a track day with Blyton or any of the track day organisers. Of course a number of us will have already booked and paid for the track day and @John Williams - Blyton Organiser will be along shortly with news on what you can do if you require a refund. Thanks again for your continued support, understanding and patience.1 point

This comes up time after time and as Captain says we need to compare equally. Westfield cater for a wide range of customers and many just want to get everything from one source. The few pounds saved shopping around from other sites is not worth the time saving sourcing from Westfield gives them and certainty it fits correctly. Also Westfield will have to have a lot of paperwork to back up supply. I seem to recall they had a recall on a part which they could do easily as the company back up was there. I deal with a lot of internet parts suppliers and when we have had a recall to implement many haven't got a clue where parts went. For others using parts and saving money is part of the fun, but it takes longer. Westfield will never be the cheapest or should we expect them to be in reality, we need them there in 10 years time and beyond.1 point

After the extention was finished last year and we decided to not proceed with the loft in the bad weather(kicking myself now due to covid). I promised Mrs W that i would do something with the garden so she didnt have to use make shift block stairs to get into the wild garden. well stage 1 nearly finished the deck. Hand rail and deck wall to go in hopefully this weekend once the stuff arrives, but happy so far.1 point
