Westfield blatting season does indeed now resume BUT only in England. Dominic Raab: Driving trips not limited, provided rules observed. There are no specific limits on distances drivers can travel within one of the UK nations under the new rules, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has said. "You can drive as far as you want to, for example to walk in a park or particular area you're fond of, as long as you maintain the social distancing," he tells BBC Breakfast. 8.28am today. It seems the powers that be in the three other Home Nations don't fully understand the wrath of the westie pensioner voter.3 points

Thank you so much. Your pictures and stories of blats makes me think how lucky I am to give a bit of pleasure to someone. The best part of your cars is that no 2 are the same, they are what you each want. That’s fantastic thank you once again2 points

The bands/music I've posted so far have been pretty serious stuff in the main! The Hu possible being the exception. I've been exploring fields further away, but what do I find for UK based traditional instruments/music being updated with current genre slants? There's a fair bit of classical infused music, But of course this also brought Bagpipes into play - leading me to Celtic Rock: "Celtic rock is a genre of folk rock, as well as a form of Celtic fusion which incorporates Celtic music, instrumentation and themes into a rock music context. It has been extremely prolific since the early 1970s and can be seen as a key foundation of the development of highly successful mainstream Celtic bands and popular musical performers, as well as creating important derivatives through further fusions. It has played a major role in the maintenance and definition of regional and national identities and in fostering a pan-Celtic culture. It has also helped to communicate those cultures to external audiences." Still sounding serious you may conclude! UNTIL you start listening - then most of it isn't .... it all has a light-hearted feel (must be a consequence of imbibing all those drams :-) ) ...... why not film the video in Bonny Scottyland!1 point

Thank heavens my doors are smaller than those Paul. I will try your advice about drilling a hole alongside the decapitated screws, and then belt them sideways etc. I've several more doors to remove and refit, so I'm going to become more expert at this over the coming weeks.1 point

P27 of govt 60 page plan. OUR PLAN TO REBUILD: The UK Government’s COVID-19 recovery strategy "People may drive to outdoor open spaces irrespective of distance, so long as they respect social distancing guidance while they are there, because this does not involve contact with people outside your household."1 point

I'd be prepared to do two runs back to back and then marshal. I haven't marshaled for a few years but in my time have done track and speed marshaling for the VSCC including start line.1 point

As I understand it, if a death is recorded as Covid there is no automatic need for an autopsy. From memory when my Dad died in the care home, he had not been seen for over two weeks by the GP when he died. That automatically meant he had to have an autopsy. In the end after speaking with the Coroner that was deemed not necessary as he was on an end of life plan. Apparently with a Covid death no autopsy is required so as not to overwhelm the coroners department. In many cases the true cause is not covid but if a person has it and then succumbs to a heart failure covid is the cause, as I understand it. The other thing is after Shipman, it was a requirement for two Doctors to agree a cause of death before cremation was allowed, I also understand that has been relaxed at this moment1 point

Hi folks! Just a reminder that we can include home insurance on multi discounts - we are very good on home, save people on average around £127... Personally I was paying £414 for buildings and contents with who my mortgage lender put me with when I bought my house... I went to A-Plan and I'm now paying £172.50 for both including better cover and allowing me to cover my portrait business (artwork supplies and working from home). Genuinely, if you have the time (a lot of us do in the current situation) dig out your documents and give us a call, we will pay up to £50 in cancellation fees with your current insurer so you can move across midterm and start saving straight away! If money is tight at the moment you're probably looking to save where you can, home insurance is a good place to start. Much Love! Carlie1 point

Have any of you had a read of the "Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) (England) Regulations 2020"? Given that there's not much to do, and I like a legal document(!) I had a look... Section 6 deals with the stuff we are most likely to want to do which is go out. Yes we must have a "reasonable excuse" which is laid out in section 6 Paragraph 1. Whilst the message from the briefings has been "you may go out once a day" this is ADVICE not LAW. The law sets out no such restriction (Para 6 section 2b). Likewise shopping for "essential items". There is no prescribed list of essential items so we can buy what we want, whenever we want. Furthermore there is no restriction on how far we can drive to do any of these things. Section M is interesting. It states you may go out "to avoid injury or illness or to escape a risk of harm." Going out for a drive, on your own, with no intention of getting out of the car could be to avoid the mental illness of being cooped up for weeks BUT if you're pulled you may get a ticket and to fight it means a day in court... http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2020/350/regulation/6 The police of course are busy enforcing the ADVICE safe in the knowledge that 99.999999% of people won't argue or challenge any penalty in court, where it should be challenged! That's not to say the ADVICE isn't good advice. The less we expose ourselves to other people, the less chance there is for transmission which is stating the blinkin' obvious. Many people are hanging on to the "most people will experience no, or mild symptoms" but there is no way to know. And it is the majority of asymptomatic people we have to be careful about as they are all potential "Typhoid Mary's", especially if they are of the arrogant type who decide to ignore the advice because they don't believe it's real (came across one guy yesterday who believed it either wasn't real or it was real and is a population control exercise. He was failing to observe social distancing in a shop until I rounded on him, but that's another story...) or because they are of the "we have the right to freedom" type. Morons... So, if people want to go for a drive there is nothing in LAW to stop you as long as you are driving for a proscribed reason. Driving 200 miles for a loaf of bread is not prohibited in LAW. It may be against the spirit of the law but that's not enforceable. But the Police believe otherwise and few have the stomach to actually stand up for their rights when they are genuinely impinged. The law is not a belief system... Now, the following video is made by someone who it could be said has a possible axe to grind with the cops...! OK, fine. But that doesn't make him wrong about the legal issues he raises. If you want to avoid the somewhat anti-police sentiment skip to 2:50 and listen carefully to what he has to say. The chart in the video as about 4 mins is this one:1 point

Hi Don, just another link below. I think Germany has it right in many ways as the actual cause of death is accurate. I do not think they are doing this to hide deaths or to massage figures it is just practical. https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1261857/germany-coronavirus-death-rate-covid19-fatality-rate-latest-who-figures1 point

Personally I think the lockdown should have happened sooner and our borders should have been shut tight. Still should be too. But, based on the amount of pressure there is after the current lockdown period, how would you all be feeling if it had started weeks earlier? No way to know how long it would have lasted had it started sooner. Fundamentally, this is all retrospective crystal ball gazing and trying to compare apples with amoeba. It is utterly worthless. We are where we are.1 point

The long and short of it is we cant successfully compare with any other country. There hasn't been any worldwide cohesive actions taken. Every country has done things slightly differently. Each has varying health care systems. The UK has tried to be clever and its cost us. We were far too slow into lockdown. Our lockdown has been far too soft. We've allowed all in our borders without a sniff of checks or quarantine. Even now the governments are making a complete balls of the restriction easing. No clear guidelines. No clear unified message amongst the 4 nation leaders.1 point
