  6. It wont be what people want to hear, but I would counsel the commitee toward minimising financial exposure. Im sure if in the event it cant be run that any club investment would eventually be returned in full, but this many not be the case. I work with a number of UK events - albeit larger and there is very limited prospect of anything happening this calendar year. Whilst we have our own on site crews for medical issues, Im sure the event woudl need the support of local services for ambulance etc and I just dont see that happenning. There is overwhelming support for lockdown still and fear (rightly in my opinion) - so whilst ive voted to say I'd love to get to the event and start the season - both true staements, will I really be able to as a higher risk individual? We all need positive thoughts at the difficult time, but in business I plan for worst case senarios and wait for plesant surprises at the moment. As aside, I dont think it right for admins to discuss individual votes in polls - However im also sure that like everyone right now that admin team are under incredible stress trying to keep the show on the road so should be forgiven. I can say running my business right now, its difficult to get the judgement right. So kiss and make up. As a second aside, loads of business right now are doing the right thing by thier customers despite this making things harder for them. The MSA wont be one of them until the last possible moment. Oh what it is to a monopoly. Stay safe and keep smiling.

  7. not strictly wscc related but as a lot on here are wsc customers. I've just had an email which stated it was from 'Patrick Costello' and was replying to a genuine email conversation I was having with the parts dept a while ago. This also had an attachment to download on it. The email address wasn't pats or the parts one and was just a random spammer. I'm not computer-clever enough to know if this is an email issue with my emails or at the other end but keep your eyes open if you get any emails. I've sent the parts dept a message but assume they won't be in til next week.

  8. Personally I think the lockdown should have happened sooner and our borders should have been shut tight. Still should be too. But, based on the amount of pressure there is after the current lockdown period, how would you all be feeling if it had started weeks earlier? No way to know how long it would have lasted had it started sooner. Fundamentally, this is all retrospective crystal ball gazing and trying to compare apples with amoeba. It is utterly worthless. We are where we are.

  9. I suspect that if boris had kept lockdown, nicola would have done the opposite. In her briefings she is using the words 'this is not a political decision' and 'we'd prefer to act together' just a little too much now.

  11. Terry Your post specifically mentions the “No Votes” for attendance at Blyton should it be run are not valid from myself and one other. I am a possible entrant and therefore my opinion should be valid. Maybe I got carried away and forgot I hadn’t entered the SS this year ( not that it matters now ) in answering the other two polls. I still feel your public naming and shaming is wrong, below the post of Comp Sec and deserves an apology. It will also do nothing to help repair my lost love for the SS.

  12. @Terry Everall - WSCC Competition Secretary Though I may not have entered the speed series this year I am a member of an invited championship to the Blyton Sprint and therefore felt my opinion valid. I have to say I’m not impressed at your attempt to embarrass me in in public and feel an apology is due. Martin

  15. Back to the numbers... The figures need to include population figures for BAME, obesity rates, cancer rates, heart condition rates... I could go on. What we KNOW is that the change to the notifiable disease regulations means the numbers may be askew and it's going to take a lot of effort to unpick them. At the moment and on balance I tend to support the rule change to make Covid-19 notifiable as it will give a reading as to the potential infection rates which the statisticians can play with for a while. At the moment whether Covid-19 was solely responsible or a contributory factor is neither here or there. That will become important later. But the health officials need the numbers and I believe this was the best way to get them at this time given the speed with which it escalated.

  16. Something that has occurred to me is that whilst some have the luxury of motorhomes etc, what about officals and those who would normally stay in B&B / hotels? If they arent open for business then there is a bit of a problem.

  17. I might try a write up but not a very skilled mechanic and I certainly won’t be done by the end of the week. 😃 I won’t get the parts until Wednesday or Thursday.

  18. The long and short of it is we cant successfully compare with any other country. There hasn't been any worldwide cohesive actions taken. Every country has done things slightly differently. Each has varying health care systems. The UK has tried to be clever and its cost us. We were far too slow into lockdown. Our lockdown has been far too soft. We've allowed all in our borders without a sniff of checks or quarantine. Even now the governments are making a complete balls of the restriction easing. No clear guidelines. No clear unified message amongst the 4 nation leaders.

  19. NZ and Australia locked down early and hard - no-one in and no-one out. NZ has a fifth of the population of Oz and a fifth of the deaths, so pretty even. Also, both countries have expansive land per capita, and many live remote anyway which helps stem the virus spread. The UK's problem is that everyone is living on top of each other, especially London. The Tasman bubble allows free travel between NZ and Oz but still isolated from the rest of the world, no-one else in. One of the reasons for the bubble is to help the tourist industries that both countries rely on - Kiwis will holiday in Oz and Aussies holiday in NZ. The downside is that the NZ collective IQ level will decrease 😉.

  21. Its not from your email pat. But is coming with your name as the sender. Ive had 3 from differing emails addresses. These are replying to 2 different genuine email trails I've had with you or Jason over the past 2 years.

  23. I've had the same thing. Sent Patrick a message to let him know. It's not actually a direct reply to the legit email chain, but it has the full email history copied in as though it is.

  25. Also... emails can often get intercepted as they fly though the ether. I had an email of mine sent to a client with an invoice attached copied and sent back to the client with “I’ve changed my bank account please pay new one...” type of thing. Luckily, he is a good payer and had already coughed up - but did ask me if I wanted future bills paid into my new account. So NEVER send passwords, confidential info, personal details via email. Ever.

  26. That is unusual, but again not too difficult if an account has been compromised. I would strongly recommend that both you and @Patrick Costello Joint Black Country AO change your passwords for the email accounts referenced.

  31. I don’t think much will be happening until a vaccine is available. Too much risk for those of retirement age (even if they are allowed out) and getting businesses and jobs back on track will be a priority. I sense a lot of people will not have the spare cash or be willing to travel to do motorsport. MSUK appear to be making mutterings about starting up again but I think in reality it’s a ploy to justify holding onto license fees instead of calling it quits for 2020. Maybe I’m wrong but we’ll see.

  32. In the middle of March we arrived in Australia, our temperature was checked and we were given an A4 sheet with instructions on what to do if we showed any of the symptoms on the sheet. Just over four weeks ago we left Australia, before we could get near check in our temperature was checked and we were asked a few questions, then before we could join the queue we were questioned again by a border force officer. when we arrived in the U.K. We walked out of Heathrow airport and got in a taxi, goodness me what was our government thinking?

  42. Hi WillC, If you are unable to get this. You can replace the pivot pin on the gearbox with a part from Kit Spares TRA0019, and then fit a standard ford release bearing. I have done this on a few so know it works Malcolm
