After a very frustrating wet winter, being furloughed allowed me to get started on the facelift on my Westie. Going for a full Martini livery. I am using vehicle wrap as I don't want this to be permanent. The FW poses a great many challenges with its curves and manipulating the substrate, especially on the rear. It doesn't help that NOTHING on these cars is symmetrical! lol I have designed and drawn on the files myself in Illustrator, currently working on a trick version of the Westfield Logo.2 points

New Order - Blue Monday Or Grand Master Flash - The Message or Herbie Hancock - Rockit or Yazz - The Only Way is Up or Soft Cell - Tainted Love or Frankie Goes to Hollywood - Relax or Human League - Don't You Want Me or the entire Human League "The League Unlimited Orchestra" album. It's brilliant... or Journey - Don't Stop Believin' or Aha - Take On Me or Dexys Midnight Runners - Geno or Phil Oakey and Georgio Moroda - Together in Electric Dreams or Ultravox - Vienna or Katrina and the Waves - Walking on Sunshine or Yazoo - Only You or Blancmange - Living on the Ceiling or T'Pau - Heart and Soul or Heaven 17 - Temptation or Baz Lurhman - (Everybody's free to wear) Sunscreen or Chaka Khan - Ain't Nobody or Earth Wind and Fire - Lets Groove or Kool and the Gang - Celebrate or Fatback Band - I Found Lovin or The Jacksons - Can You Feel It or Freez - IOU or The Average White Band - Pick Up the Pieces or Imagination - Just an Illusion or Bill Withers - Lovely Day or Kenny Loggins - Footloose or Shalamar - Night to Remember or Adam and the Ant - Ant Music and Prince Charming or Rockers Revenge - Walking on Sunshine or Maze - Joy and Pain or The Gap Band - Burn Rubber (scarily on topic!!!) or Well I could go on... OK I did go on. But the 80's and some of the 90's was a brilliant time for music. I'm off to create a playlist or three. That should kill a few lockdown hours. In fact, I can feel a whole new thread-come-argument topic coming on that could while away a good few hours...2 points

@syman84 Aeroscreen is going to Chris if you want to chuck it in the same package.1 point

A good cheap tip is hang a cheap curtain from side to side making sure it's on the deck to catch any missed draughts. 2 inch polystyrene sheets are cheap enough1 point

He was my hero when I was growing up, watched him driving a Mercedes-Benz at Aintree in the late fifty's and then again in 1980 driving for Audi with a young Martin Brundle as his team mate. A true gentleman who always had time to chat to the race fans. Oulton Park 4 April 19180, photo taken off one of my slides.1 point

@Chris King - Webmaster and Joint North East AO If you haven't seen it already and want a very interesting box-set to watch during lock-down, 'The Vietnam War' on Netflix is fascinating - 10 episodes, each one movie-length long. Starts at the start of the uprising in the 1800's.1 point

Thought I would share how I spent a couple of hours yesterday. I picked up a couple of telescopic washing line props from Aldi recently I had to modify the hook at the end so that it would fit over the windscreen surround oncethe hood is first attached. The hook is lined with soft rubber so should protect the hood OK. I cut the prop so that it will fit in the hood bag - retaining as much of the larger diameter tube as possible for strength reasons. I then used a 44mm p-clip to attach to the rollbar Obviously haven't been able to try out on the road yet but the hood doesn't have as much give. Here is the support in place without the hood fitted Look forward to trying it on the open road soon hopefully.................1 point

I normally jack the rest up by the diff then pop 2 axle stands under the rear lip of my lowered floors with a bit of 3x2 on the axle stands. Jack the front under the battery tray where the 3 chassis rails join so you're not jacking in the middle of a tube iyswim1 point

But said individual was already down in Cornwall when the lockdown occurred, and has stayed down here since. He owns multiple houses here, bus remained in the same one with all his family, so press not 100% accurate again on that one1 point

If I worked mainly in London, needed to be in Newark for work related activity, worked on Government business, and my family was residing in Herefordshire I would make the trip to see them. And be happy to deliver the don’t normally travel message.1 point

This is a rare commodity, I didn't know it even existed! It would be ideal for a Westie for hillclimbing, particularly if the engine was quite high reving.1 point

The logo's were drawn and cut on my plotter, the stripes were laid with wrap and knifeless tape, tapering from windshield to nose cone.1 point

I'd never heard the Styx track until this morning on the Graham Norton Radio 2 show, and I agree that "I can't believe it's not better" Some of the songs on @Blatmans list are the songs of my late teens. But not all.1 point

Strewth, that’s a bold claim!! I see your bland pop track and raise you anything the Eurythmics did in the 80’s.1 point

Me I would buy 25mm Celotex sheets or similar and ct1 it to the door, it would give you almost double to glass wool and silver tape the edges. https://www.travisperkins.co.uk/floor-insulation/recticel-eurothane-general-purpose-rigid-pir-insulation-board-2400mm-x-1200mm-x-25mm/p/2540491 point

Paul I used to fit those Hormann doors. Hormann sold an insulation kit and honestly it was hopeless if you still want the door to open because the gap around and under the door allows so much air flow. Be careful with additional weight as you will need to re-tension the springs and on those cassette types there's limited adjustment.1 point

Hi Paul, I just hardboarded my doors, I should have put some insulation behind but it’s a corrugated steel roof so it’s draughty / condensation anyway 🙄 I just run a dehumidifier in the winter, but the good thing it gives me somewhere to put posters and memorabilia. cheers Andy1 point

I own an RX8 engine Westfield, possibly the one you have seem advertised in February. Chris, where are you located, welcome to try mine out...after lockdown that is haha I purchased it from Jon who has a very lengthy build thread on the mazda rotary forum http://mazdarotaryclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=80900.new;topicseen#new Hopefully that link works, otherwise just search westory and it should come up. May well be something on this forum come to think of it.... I'm going to continue with the build thread with changes and additions i make. I think the engines characteristics are very well suited to the Westfield. Very linear power and it is very fast. Adam1 point
