In defence, a lot of the front-facing cameras have about the same photo resolution as a potato stamp. And Maurici is much hotter as a mirror image, xxxxx3 points

As soon as Westfield get the go ahead to start releasing kits and cars again, I will be straight up there to collect it. I'm going with Siltech racing for my front Hubs, Uprights and widetrack suspension (Some lovely CNC goodness 😆). Engine and a few other bits I will be sourcing from Raceline.3 points

After a very frustrating wet winter, being furloughed allowed me to get started on the facelift on my Westie. Going for a full Martini livery. I am using vehicle wrap as I don't want this to be permanent. The FW poses a great many challenges with its curves and manipulating the substrate, especially on the rear. It doesn't help that NOTHING on these cars is symmetrical! lol I have designed and drawn on the files myself in Illustrator, currently working on a trick version of the Westfield Logo.2 points

My eldest cut mine for me and ran the clippers up the middle front and left the sides.... reckoned I looked like his grandad and was wetting himself so much he couldn't turn the clippers back on to finish the job..... ended up finishing it myself!!!2 points

Cheers Mark I now have 12 weeks off on full pay so the brand new never finished or started really might just get finished. It's going to be so plain Jane with standard zetec injection. I might just be asking loads of questions though .2 points

Every picture of me on the Boardroom for years already shows the result of me cutting my own hair. My trusty Wahl razor and 16mm comb, which conveniently is just right for the beard too, so I do my whole head, all in one go, beard and all! 😱 (Though on a really hot summer, I end up using a slightly shorter comb on hair, than beard 🧔 😂 )2 points

This is bringing out the best in people nd the worst. The woman was a self entitled idiot. Her comment if I get it so what I am only harming myself. She and her type are putting strain on the NHS when it could be avoided. She claimed she was exercising her brain, I doubt that. What there should be is a massive fine, none appealable for people like her and she if she is so chipper after that. The Police officers did a great job there.1 point

I'm hoping the weather is good next week as I'm on late shift and intend to drive the westy to work and I've got a letter stating I'm a key worker. Might be a bit chilly driving home at 11pm. At least the roads will be empty1 point

Not till about 8pm at least Ian. If I get a chance I will try and join the chat. I'm hoping to get a good weather and take the westy to work next week. Just for a drive out.1 point

Sometimes I get asked, but what's the difference between A-Plan and competitors/other brokers? Without going into the details of things like we aim to answer the phone within 3 rings... there's no press 1 for this, 2 for that... inhouse claims team etc etc - I thought I'd give a more personal view of how I feel that A-Plan stands out, from a staff members perspective. I'll be honest, I've never worked for a company that's anywhere near as client focused as A-Plan is - it's so refreshing! The amount of training we do to make sure we have the knowledge to support our clients really makes you realise how much they care as a company... I don't think I'll ever leave 😉 To give you an idea of what it's like here too, they have about 1,600 staff across 96 branches. Yet if I take a trip to head office they know who I am, what I look like and a couple of bits about me to ask how my daughter is or if I'm still drawing - even if there's about 20 of us visiting at once. We've seen our products in action whether that's because of a claim or one of our add-ons (breakdown, excess protection, legal cover etc) - so we know they work and the level of service we expect you to receive from the companies we use to provide these extras. Our staff genuinely do care about you and I think that makes all the difference than when you go to a direct insurer or a broker that uses a call centre. All feedback that I see that mentions a staff member gets given to them and the amount of staff that keep these little notes in their drawer because they are proud of the service they gave is lovely. So when you call A-Plan, that's who you are dealing with - not just a company, but individuals that genuinely want to help you 🥰 So if we aren't able to beat your quote or we are on par price-wise, think about the service you've received so far before you've placed your business, as well as the level of cover offered, the knowledge of the staff and how it will benefit you to speak to someone who knows what a kit car is if the worst was to happen... and then think how much you value that, because if you do need us - we will be here. Coming along... Finally got a heater working! Quite tricky for a hayabusa engine.. A steady 25° at the matrix outlet.. That'll do me.. Guessing it'll be a bit cooler at outlet by the time the air cools a bit... Unless I insulate the outlet hose a bit.. I think out loud at times. I have to make from scratch a matrix blower direction box out of ally and plastic. Should be fun... Bodywork nearly done. Needs a flat a polish yet. Cage is getting rubbed down for a repaint too. Waiting for some self adhesive seal to arrive in the post but everything is slower now so mustn't grumble..1 point
