Before I got banged up for 84 days yesterday, I was in a supermarket behind a man wearing a proper ventilation breather mask and rubber gloves (looked a b***). I told him that it can get in through the eyes too so wearing a mask and gloves was not entirely foolproof. I swear to you all that the next thing he did was to close his eyes and kept them closed, only opening them for split seconds to navigate. 🙄4 points

Well batman killed that one stone dead Surely If surnames were a risk then surely none of the ao's or committee members should have their full names displayed?3 points

A few of us visited and stayed in Guarda. The roads are magnificent and the climb to the village has the most beautiful views throughout. The hotel we stayed in was ultra modern and the finish of everything inside was absolutely first class. The owners told me that the hotel was built by local craftsmen from the village. The hotel was so modern but a few paces away you entered the 16th century village. These is certainly an atmosphere about the place and if you are in the area it is definitely worth a stopover.2 points

So what, they’re only carried by the droplets. Now they’re sat on a host of random surfaces, some of which will support the viral load for way more than a few hours. Don't forget, masks in general use aren’t necessarily there to stop you breathing something in, they’re there to help Reduce those that don’t know they’re carrying the virus spreading it.2 points

Nor MPs names visible nor company CEOs etc. However Blatman's point has some validity in that a lot of questionnaires are mere trawling devices to get info whether it be for marketing or more nefarious activities. The biggest 'trawler' is of course FizzogBook.2 points

If you mean the contour dash insert, I’ve always just made my own. All it needs to be is a flat panel with openings cut in, can either be painted, vinyl wrapped, or you could carbon wrap it. this was a sheet of aluminium, cut out for switches, gauges etc, with 3 Carbon film on it. That was actually the second version I did, first for IVA, was simpler, with stock switches, and just covered with vinyl.2 points

Ok a couple of teasers, when I got home and some black bodywork..... obviously once I can get into the garage there will be some tunnel mouth mods to take the Mazda box, then replace some of the aluminium with carbon ordered some nice deep dish 13” rims too, they didn’t do them in gold so once they’re here and I can get out they’ll be off to get sorted lol that’s about it for now, but there are a few things in my head (and that’s a dangerous place) but they’ll wait until I get started proper2 points

Maybe soon if all non-essential work to cease! But why do you need an MOT if you can't go anywhere. Ireland had to issue exemptions to private cars for sometime since the end of last year due to problems with their MOT scheme.2 points

Hi all, I hope you're all staying fit & well. I'm at home and for the first time in 20 years unemployed, a freebee situation gifted from the Chinese, but I'm lucky, I have no mortgage and no debts, so bl**** lucky really. The sage is a nurse manager, in the past they used to be called 'sister' (in a non religious way) that makes our household pretty much front line, so we're going to see where the whole thing goes. Looking to the future, when the situation with the Virus has played out I'll be looking for something to do..... and it's not got to be boring, so once liberty is restored I'll start looking, I might even have a mooch at buying a single car transporter, I can drive up to 7.5 tons and can tow a trailer giving me a maximum all up weight of 8.25 tons, I've got a Digital Tacho card and have a valid CPC Driver card so no problem driving commercially, but cars are the only thing I'm going to be moving if I go down that route. However that set aside, when we get the nod to start getting back to normal I'm pottering about at home and have a trailer that the ASBO sits on. If anyone needs a loan of said trailer to move their Westie they are welcome to use it, if you don't have a tow bar and as long as you cover the diesel for my car I'd be happy to help. I don't think beer and wine can be translated to 'hire or reward' so should any be left in the boot it would easily find a new home. So.... any suggestions for make and model of transporter ? I'd be looking for a payload of 2.5 to 3.5 tons (I think). Stay safe ! Nem.........1 point

Obviously with the current situation all of our Area runs and meets are off for now. We will see how things pan out as we get closer to July and fingers are firmly crossed! Fortunately all of our accommodation was booked with free cancellation right up until the day prior to arrival - so a last minute decision can be made as the time approaches. Stay safe!1 point

So hoping to beat any travel restrictions plus the fact I was alone, I had arranged to collect the new project so food and drinks with me I collected my new project and an engine/ box. Alas on the way home a puncture on the trailer wrecked the wheel and hub , so on the side of the road I called Autoaid ( it’s me who’s covered so doesn’t matter if it’s the Audi or the westy) in 55 minutes they had the trailer on the truck and delivered to the house in remote Scotland an hour after I was home. So a big thanks to all involved at Autoaid. And I can’t fault their service BUT now I’ve a new project and can’t get to the garage, time to order some carbon bits 😃 Stay safe everyone1 point

I feel for small business and the problems faced with any event that affects normal trading. Most directors and owners of these companies put their selves on the line to make business work and often take the hit's just getting on with work. Fortunately I ceased trading in 2017 due to poor results but found all my employees new employment and paid more than the required redundancy packages so I have missed this incredibly worrying catastrophe. I survived the 2008 bank crash by the skin of my teeth but had to re-mortgage my house to do so and only finally paid that back in 2017, during which time I was carrying huge debts from customers stalling payments. These stalling tactics continued and was a major reason for ceasing trade as the normal terms were getting to be 120 days plus, with tactics being used to delay further. I have extreme sympathy with all and the sacrifices we are having to make but we all must comply with the situation and be responsible people. We will be able to pick up the pieces living full and rewarding lives if we follow the advice!1 point

The good old reserve - large brown paper bag over head and top of body, poke two holes out to see and cover with some see through material and totally Covid-19 safe. Added advantage is no one can see what you look like so can carry on hoarding like crazy🤠1 point

For those making Frequent panic buying trips, I'd suggest double bagging with rubble sacks, fastened tightly with a few hundred meters of gaffer tape 😉1 point

I run the UK supply chain and logistics for a large multi national retailer and operate a large fleet of LGV's. I'm a CPC holder and have held a few Operators Licenses over the years. The DVSA have done 2 things this week, relaxing both the driver hours rules and this latest change to the MOT testing. Both of which are almost unheard of. LGV's are maintained to an incredibly high standard. Each operator is scored on the OCRS system (operators compliance risk score) and then treated accordingly by the DVSA. Any MOT failure (even if it passes on retest), any drivers hour infringement or a fault on a vehicle at a roadside check will impact your score and flag your vehicles to be stopped more often. Every operator will therefore be paying for a pre-MOT inspection to ensure the highest pass rate possible. If more issues are found you will lose the your Operators License, suicide to any business! The companies doing the servicing are also rated by the DVSA on the MOT pass rate of the vehicles they service. If the pass rate is poor they can lose their license too. Servicing is heavily regulated and has to be done every 42 days. If you have a good OCRS score, this can normally be extended to 56 days but this privilege can be removed at any time. This can have a huge impact on costs so every operator wants a good OCRS score. Every driver has to do a pre-operation check that has to be documented and kept on file for over 12 months. Each transport operator (for each operating site) has to nominate at least one responsible person and name it's directors to hold an Operators License. They must be of good repute and hold a Certificate of Professional Competency, the test for which is higher than A level standard. It's a tough exam, only 35% of people pass. The O License application has to be published in the local press and online (including the names of the CPC holder and company directors) before the license is granted. The O License can be revoked or restricted at any time. In short, running LGV's is very complex, very expensive and highly regulated but means they are generally the safest vehicles on the road!1 point

The pre rebuild console; 3M multilayer carbon wrap, heater controls and 12 Volt point for chargers etc. As part of the rebuild, the analogue dials have gone, so I’ve moved the heater controls up to the dash panel, and the centre console now has all the ecu controls for traction etc. The 3M Carbon wrap has gone, and I’ve replaced it with genuine carbon, engraved with the control functions, on the centre console. (I got the same guy that did the build plates etc to do it.). Not fitted back to the car yet, but you get the idea...1 point

Got my car back from a rebuild and having ITB’s fitted. Engine ran really well and have done 150 of the 500 miles I was advised to run at a reduced rev limit. Have a few electrical problems to sort but happy with the the way the car pulls. Really enjoyed getting out yesterday and today and hope the current problems don’t end up with a lot of cancelled meets I have planned to attend. Anyway here are a few pics. Stopped at quite a famous place so I am sure a lot will know where it is.1 point
