Didn't even need to touch a petrol pump as I'd filled on the way home from my MOT!8 points

Most of you know I have two kids who are extremely complex and I also have a hereditary heart condition ... so we as a family decided to isolate for the full government recommended 12 weeks and have our fingers crossed it's slightly better (or the NHS has more equipment, medicine, etc.) by the middle of June! I'm going to miss the Peak and Yorkshire runs out but I believe what the club & @Julie Hall - Peak District AO has done is completely correct. And I also think what GBS are doing (assuming it's still on as I write this) is completely wrong on so many levels! You can have this virus without knowing and pass it to someone a lot more susceptible and vulnerable ... so why risk killing people for a few hours enjoying a hobby? Yes GBS may have conditions in place to limit interaction but what about all the people travelling that need fuel, visit the toilets on route, etc, etc! While I fully understand the impact on businesses (I'm self employed and my work has dried up which is bl**** scary!) it's a stupid & selfish decision ... just like all those idiots who went for "one last pint" last night! Let's face it we all have plenty of jobs to be doing on our cars and that's a fun way to spend some of your isolation! Anyway that's my rant over and like @RobH72 I will also be sneaking in the odd lonely blat at strange times of the day ... although it won't be far as I don't want to go near a Petrol station ๐7 points

Got my car back from a rebuild and having ITBโs fitted. Engine ran really well and have done 150 of the 500 miles I was advised to run at a reduced rev limit. Have a few electrical problems to sort but happy with the the way the car pulls. Really enjoyed getting out yesterday and today and hope the current problems donโt end up with a lot of cancelled meets I have planned to attend. Anyway here are a few pics. Stopped at quite a famous place so I am sure a lot will know where it is.4 points

Our garden is looking very tidy! Oh, and the bad news (from my point iof view at least) is that Mrs H has dug out tins of paint, and is pointing out which walls need emulsioning. I haven't painted in many years, and I'm not looking forward to it now.2 points

I can tell you that it seems to be a huge tank when it's spread all over the floor ๐ The main fuel pipe (from the tank to pump) decided to loosen itself this morning and vomit about 10 litres all over the car park at work... I think I'm going to smell of fuel for days! ๐๐ Fortunately I managed a temporary repair with the help of my on site LGV mechanic (owe him a pint when the pubs reopen!) and stemmed the flow from "fountain" to "drip" and get me home... looks like a job for this afternoon ๐ณ2 points

As we are normally out and about most weekends, I thought it only polite to let people know the plan for the near future in the Peak District Area. Following the advice from the powers that be there will not be any runs out planned until further notice. Hard that it is for me to write this and I think for you to read this, it is important to put one's desires aside for the safety of everyone. Take care out there Glen and Julie xxxx1 point

Thatโs true! Having the very top of the tank above or virtually level with the top end of the filler pipe was an interesting design decision!1 point

One of my daughters is an ACP in the front line of hospital admissions and her and her colleagues are heroes (in my opinion) putting their own lives at risk and isolating herself, at home when off shift, from her daughters and us to try and avoid passing on the virus to others. What an awful situation we are all in. Stay safe and keep well1 point

Always sad moments to see one like that go, but at the same time, thrilling for the new owner! And youโve got a cracking replacement!1 point

Just to clarify a little, no one, until advice changes, at least, wants to see members completely unable to go out in their cars. BUT, I would strongly, strongly suggest keeping the car numbers way down, twos and threes, maybe fours absolute maximum. Even three or four, in the eyes of Joe public looks like a bigger gathering than it really is. People are stressed, angry and confused, with the closure of pubs, clubs, gyms etc, this will probably get worse, and a backlash against those perceived to be flouting social distancing principals is starting to appear. Be discrete out there, be sensible, and consider how you appear to others!1 point

Very sad and emotional times for all of us. We are all having to face new ways of day to day life. Letโs hope a vaccine is found to counter this incessant rise of infections. Keep safe guys and girls!1 point

I can't get over how shy your headlamps are Dave, every time the cameras on them they turn away.๐1 point

I'm sorry, and I realise that it's not what you want to hear, but the infection controls are there for a very good reason. You're right that the nurses might be contaminated, same with the cleaners and the people delivering the food. The baby may not move around, but his parents will. Common sense may suggest that it's best to keep the family together, however overwhelming evidence shows that it is best to keep vulnerable people well away from hospitals if at all possible. At the moment, that's even more important. The NHS aren't telling you this to be difficult or to make life harder for you all, they are doing it because it is absolutely in your best interest.1 point

Worryingly, some of the other groups/clubs seem to have a rather more cavalier attitude to the whole situation... Unfortunately, my field of work means my team and I are putting ourselves at risk of infection every day trying to keep the stores and online supply chain running for essential food and health products. I dread to think how tough it is for the NHS and emergency services teams! I cant add to that risk and burden no matter how much I'd love to meet up with you all. I'll be sneaking the odd lonely blat though, just to keep myself sane! ๐๐ Stay safe and stay healthy everyone!1 point

Paul, are you new to sprinting in the Speed Series? If so, then my advice would be to go out and do a few events with what you have, when we can get out again. And keep eyes and ears open in the paddock to see what others are doing. Only after that should you make a decision about upgrading your suspension. Otherwise I can almost guarantee that you will end up regretting your premature choice of upgrades.1 point

Hi, the extended floors are 3mm wooden ply! Lightweight, cheap and easy to use and more importantly easy to repair or replace being in a high impact area. Quick sand down slap some paint on. It's going to get clipped on bumps somewhere. It's just fixed where the side panels are riveted on. I removed the rivets and replaced them with rivnut. 6mm I think. Easy off and on. The idea is I wanted all panels right round easy removable with a few bolts. The rear tub being the ball ache was cut (gingerly) top of the rear arch so it's now in 3 sections. This allows the rear section to come right off with about 8 bolts and a couple of plastic bolts holding wheel arches on. Quick unclip of the lights and off it pops. Had to make a few brackets to hold the top together and a few holding the bottom edge of the rear. So the chassis now supports the diffuser and the brackets. The idea was for easy access. And boy does it work. Soooooooo much easier. I also flared the side panels for ease of access mainly. No more cursing lack of space and skinned knuckles. Currently the left side is the original fibreglass one but I've plans to get on with some 1mm aluminium ones beaten by hand soon as I get chance. Once paint is done I'm repainting the cage next, then finishing the custom built heater. I've drawn plans for a 4 way matrix box which allows some creative heating solutions. How do you keep really warm with no screen etc? Simply run a 1in flexy hose feeding warm air into your one piece rain suit... Let it circulate slow moving warm air direct. A standard air vent in the dash won't keep the heat. Plus I've no room for one. I do have one right where my right hand goes look closely at the red band far right there's a simple opening. The car in the images is wrapped. I've removed it since as can be seen. Just debating whether to paint the light pods matching white or leave black? The 4 arches are now white which should make the car wider and more safety visible. I've been told a few times before it's hard to see being black. You mentioned heat.. Not a problem. Mega series cars have enclosed flat floors with a small cut out where part of the sump comes through the bottom bout an inch. We've just been sent home from Nissan for a week or so so I might get it well on the way! Self isolation... ๐1 point

I see both sides, and the NHS is in an impossible situation; my sister is currently one round into three rounds of chemo, prior to radiotherapy. The consultants have just told her that on balance, her prognosis is better if the stop the chemo before the second round next week, and keep her in isolation at home, than if they bring her in, weaken her immune system more, and frankly expose her to all the awkward, irresponsible nunneys she's likely to meet between home and the hospital. My sister is 71 and already in a vulnerable category on two counts. I can't visit her, for the above reasons and if I'm honest, like many of us,I've no idea what the future will bring, and whether I'll even see her face to face again. (We nearly lost her Christmas 2018), So I'm sorry, but my sympathy is limited. It's that old difference between what would be nice to have, what you must have and what would be critical to have. And I do hope everything goes well for your family Tex. It's an apaling time for them to live through.0 points
