Worryingly, some of the other groups/clubs seem to have a rather more cavalier attitude to the whole situation... Unfortunately, my field of work means my team and I are putting ourselves at risk of infection every day trying to keep the stores and online supply chain running for essential food and health products. I dread to think how tough it is for the NHS and emergency services teams! I cant add to that risk and burden no matter how much I'd love to meet up with you all. I'll be sneaking the odd lonely blat though, just to keep myself sane! ๐๐ Stay safe and stay healthy everyone!6 points

Just completed the last Winter job ready for the first day of Spring.... FItted the new Stebel Brio horn to the car. Man it's LOUD...(Phone camera doesn't really do it justice) Two output sound modes; 1; the ubiquitous full bore Stebel death blast and 2; an alternating "La Dolce VIta" tone for more friendly greetings.... Sound output selected via a toggle switch on the dash next to the horn button. Anyway a happier end to a stressful week getting the car to fire up (posted elsewhere).4 points

I'm sorry, and I realise that it's not what you want to hear, but the infection controls are there for a very good reason. You're right that the nurses might be contaminated, same with the cleaners and the people delivering the food. The baby may not move around, but his parents will. Common sense may suggest that it's best to keep the family together, however overwhelming evidence shows that it is best to keep vulnerable people well away from hospitals if at all possible. At the moment, that's even more important. The NHS aren't telling you this to be difficult or to make life harder for you all, they are doing it because it is absolutely in your best interest.4 points

As the news of the temporary but unknown duration, closure of pubs, restaurants etc from tomorrow sinks in, itโs sad, but I think for our members and families health, we need to halt meets until circumstances improve. I hope to get the occasional blowing away of cob webs in, still, in the Westfield, and hopefully a few of you will, I hope we manage to share the odd bit of highway for a while! stay well!3 points

As many people that are part of this fantastic club are not able to get out and about, due to being in the at risk category or are in key rolls to self isolate why not share some videos of times you have been out on a blat to keep you all sane. a national virtual Blat if you like I will start with a short video from a snowy day out with @Julie Hall - Peak District AO excuse the potty mouth son sat next to me half way through.2 points

There is unfortunately going to be a lot of difficult choices to be made in the next few weeks. Infection control in hospital is never good enough, if you have multiple people coming in and out. They are trying to keep the outbreak curve lower which will mean that the NHS will cope, sort of. There are lots of plans and scenarios being played out at the moment. My wife is reasonably high in the NHS and started calls at 6.00am this morning running "what if's". getting supplies where they are needed will need work as everything is moving keeping cash flowing and yes looking at alternative where mass numbers could be treated as most will not need ventilators but need attention to stop that happening. My Daughter is a Dr in ITU and I do fear for her not only the chance of getting it herself, ver high, but also the stress of dealing with this. Seeing people split from loved ones sometimes at the end will be crushing inside. So for every time we feel that the NHS hide behind paper, sometimes there has been a lot going on to get that paper agreed by all. Your Grandkids will be fine just let the experts do their job and don't add to their load.2 points

Very sad and emotional times for all of us. We are all having to face new ways of day to day life. Letโs hope a vaccine is found to counter this incessant rise of infections. Keep safe guys and girls!2 points

Did they really both post all of that in Comic Sans? You should be boycotting them indefinitely for that, regardless of CV19.2 points

Seems a strange decision to keep running it tbh, itโs not like their business depends on it going ahead.2 points

As we are normally out and about most weekends, I thought it only polite to let people know the plan for the near future in the Peak District Area. Following the advice from the powers that be there will not be any runs out planned until further notice. Hard that it is for me to write this and I think for you to read this, it is important to put one's desires aside for the safety of everyone. Take care out there Glen and Julie xxxx1 point

And the right ones are soon (current crisis allowing) to be in stock at Westfield! And it sounds like, as long as theirs demand, the factory might just keep getting a few in! (Mechanically/hydraulically, the Caterham is fine, those of us with hydraulic clutches etc that are very close to the brake MC may have the odd issue though, as the Caterham version has deeper bosses where the hydraulic pipes screw in.)1 point

Thanks for the update @Julie Hall - Peak District AO and Glen. Makes perfect sense. Stay safe everyone. ๐ท1 point

Given the rather interesting skill set of many of us when it comes to fabrication, plumbing etc. I wonder who's going to be the first with too much time on their hands to build a still themselves and get into home production? "I was just making spirit based hand wash, officer, honest!!"1 point

They don't seem to offer the right bore size in a suitable mount. Can only find the rose jointed floating MC in 15/16 doing a quick search.1 point

Thats why you are lucky living near the peaks we around here is all old pit sites and boring roads Our main treat and outings are when we arange to meet you lot at matlock and have a great run out Then get depressed coming back up here Could be worst though we are lucky to have a sports cars1 point

That's the difficult bit. The drive to and from GBS is pretty bland, however the banter, cake and looking at cars makes up for it. If everyone stops in their cars, it won't be the same. As per WSCC Guidance from @Andy Banks - Chairman, if you do go with a group @Barnsley John don't wear WSCC clothing etc as members of the public may not look at the club in the best light etc.1 point

Blimey look at you ๐ I've got plenty left. I've been stockpiling bits for this whilst others have been stockpiling bog roll... That particular car, yes1 point

I see both sides, and the NHS is in an impossible situation; my sister is currently one round into three rounds of chemo, prior to radiotherapy. The consultants have just told her that on balance, her prognosis is better if the stop the chemo before the second round next week, and keep her in isolation at home, than if they bring her in, weaken her immune system more, and frankly expose her to all the awkward, irresponsible nunneys she's likely to meet between home and the hospital. My sister is 71 and already in a vulnerable category on two counts. I can't visit her, for the above reasons and if I'm honest, like many of us,I've no idea what the future will bring, and whether I'll even see her face to face again. (We nearly lost her Christmas 2018), So I'm sorry, but my sympathy is limited. It's that old difference between what would be nice to have, what you must have and what would be critical to have. And I do hope everything goes well for your family Tex. It's an apaling time for them to live through.0 points

Yeah just finished the first Chemo round and they've suspended the next - should have been next week. They're advising that the risks of keeping the immune system compromised and worse than the risks of stopping.0 points
