Indeed, with these things it’s not about “you” so much as the people that you “force” to be there because you are, and the potential for contact, in the unfortunate, and hopefully unlikely, event of an incident, whether that be marshals, medical teams or whoever. What at any other time might be a simple incident, suddenly can become a major issue and quite literally have the potential, even if hopefully slim, to expose people to danger far beyond the ramifications of the incident itself.4 points

I am as disappointed as anyone but remember we meet at signing on and scrutineering etc and who pulls you out of you cars etc if you have a whoopsie? There could be contact etc so its best not to risk it. Also at weekend events not everyone self caters and they have to use B&B or cafes etc4 points

I tried and failed to get the Balkan 176 Vodka (88% alcohol) as was out of stock on a few sites (fake news that a Mr J. of Westminster had bought the lot). Initially I was keen to buy it to read the thirteen health warnings (even has one in Braille). Then I thought possibly ABV 88 might be just too unpalatable even when it might be a life-saving medicine. Similarly I decided against Spirytus Duch Puszczy 50cl / 95% ABV which was available. Seeing online Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum 70Cl Bottle at a mere ABV 63 (126 proof) I ordered a bottle and it arrived today. Contains 44.1 units per bottle. I am in an at risk group being a long term asthmatic as well as ancient so if I get the coronavirus continuous cough I will resort to the virus killer. Expecting the worst I just tried a shot and very surprisingly it was pretty good. Recommended. Good health.2 points

Hi, the extended floors are 3mm wooden ply! Lightweight, cheap and easy to use and more importantly easy to repair or replace being in a high impact area. Quick sand down slap some paint on. It's going to get clipped on bumps somewhere. It's just fixed where the side panels are riveted on. I removed the rivets and replaced them with rivnut. 6mm I think. Easy off and on. The idea is I wanted all panels right round easy removable with a few bolts. The rear tub being the ball ache was cut (gingerly) top of the rear arch so it's now in 3 sections. This allows the rear section to come right off with about 8 bolts and a couple of plastic bolts holding wheel arches on. Quick unclip of the lights and off it pops. Had to make a few brackets to hold the top together and a few holding the bottom edge of the rear. So the chassis now supports the diffuser and the brackets. The idea was for easy access. And boy does it work. Soooooooo much easier. I also flared the side panels for ease of access mainly. No more cursing lack of space and skinned knuckles. Currently the left side is the original fibreglass one but I've plans to get on with some 1mm aluminium ones beaten by hand soon as I get chance. Once paint is done I'm repainting the cage next, then finishing the custom built heater. I've drawn plans for a 4 way matrix box which allows some creative heating solutions. How do you keep really warm with no screen etc? Simply run a 1in flexy hose feeding warm air into your one piece rain suit... Let it circulate slow moving warm air direct. A standard air vent in the dash won't keep the heat. Plus I've no room for one. I do have one right where my right hand goes look closely at the red band far right there's a simple opening. The car in the images is wrapped. I've removed it since as can be seen. Just debating whether to paint the light pods matching white or leave black? The 4 arches are now white which should make the car wider and more safety visible. I've been told a few times before it's hard to see being black. You mentioned heat.. Not a problem. Mega series cars have enclosed flat floors with a small cut out where part of the sump comes through the bottom bout an inch. We've just been sent home from Nissan for a week or so so I might get it well on the way! Self isolation... 👍2 points

Hooe it will be soon, just got hold of some 2k clear coat... Makes a right mess painting at home... Everything is now covered in white dust! Had loads of fibreglass repairs to do from a huge crack in the engine cover where I fell on it to star cracks in rear wheel arches. Primes, sand, dust, primer, dust, paint, dust, add more dust, pour bag of dust on floor, eat dust, scrape dust out of eyes, blow cat clean of dust....1 point

Let’s hope the hotels are still in business. Might have to take a tent just in case 😁1 point

Popcorn please! 😄 What setup do you have at the moment and for what reason do you want to upgrade? I have home-made wishbones to standard track dimensions, rose jointed at chassis ends, proper spherical bearings at the uprights, increased camber correction at the top one (spacer between upright and top wishbone), and Penske 3-ways.1 point

I imagine the statement that the government said they would not be offering any emergency services cover for such events would have been a big factor. I have spectated at three events where air ambulance / ambulance required. In the current climate that wouldn’t be seen as acceptable to continue a hobby1 point

Tbh, I reckon I could attend a trackday .. park up in the far corner of the paddock and keep myself to myself.. but for me trackdays are more than just the driving. I do enjoy a wander round the paddock having a poke around the cars and a bit of a chat? Wouldn't be the same. Make the most of it chaps, I cant see it lasting for long. Liking the "life experience" bit too Adam. 😄 He wasn't old .. he died of an overdose of life experience? 😄1 point

Cheers, will remember that one. Been away for a while, last time I was here the site didn't host images. But now I re-own the old girl and we're back!1 point

Liking this bit. No briefing will be required for experienced rider/drivers, i.e. if you have participated in a track day at that circuit within 18 months, subject to significant changes in weather or track-conditions1 point

I think although unnecessary..maybe safer on track that in Asda.. especially considering all the idiots doing their annual shopping.. Sainsbury's now allowing only the oldies to shop for the first hour..maybe the TDO s could allow the same!!! Take care..I think being sensible for the next few months is the right thing..then have fun again for many years when this is over!1 point

Simon. I have already been thinking about this and I will deal with the possibility of reducing the number of events that count, but not yet, as we don't know how long the situation will affect the calendar.1 point

New Zealand and Fiji now gone done the pan, the wedding we are due to attend on Friday is going ahead with reduced numbers, the bride and groom have cancelled their honeymoon to Mexico, I can't imagine what's going on in her head at the moment ☹️ We are now looking at a road trip up to the Gold Coast after that no one knows, things are changing by the hour 😮 We have no idea if or when we will be able to get home. 🙄0 points
