I have a pair of bluetooth ear pieces linked to my phone (cloudplayer) which work well enough. Prior to that I fitted a 100w (too quiet) and then a 200w amp with a really good pair of speakers from my old Lexus, under the scuttle. The sound was too quiet at 70mph and too loud at 30mph. I tried a speed sensitive app on my phone but never got the "La Scala" quality I was looking for and gave up in the end, even before the fat large lady came onto the stage. In any event it's much nicer to hear the pops and crackles when you ease off the throttle. As good as Santana and ZZ Top, but not quite Eric.2 points

TBH the MicLaren could be a lot of fun - and we could have a second WSCC hot* lap championship? 😁 *slightly tepid2 points

Regarding the odd Hillclimb, unless you are planning on being competitive, then I couldn't think of a worse value for money scenario, if you factor in gearing the car up to pass the various regs, entrance fee and very few actual runs on the day..... However, I can thoroughly recommend a Hill Climb Drivers School, where you only need pitch up in (any) road legal car, show your licence and mot, get a briefing of the course, walk the course with Instructors, have two trial runs in a fairly fast procession, followed by 3 or four solo runs using cones at various braking points, and then further runs on a 'bare' course. OK, the runs are untimed, but you can time yourself later if you are interested and have on board footage to give you an idea. I did roughly 12 runs at Gurston down last year and it was IMHO fantastic value for money and a very good intro into Hill Climbing, for roughly £150 if my memory is correct? Regarding sound tracks in the car.....only one required - thats the engine via the exhaust, IMHO.... Mart.2 points

The March club night at the Tudor Rose will be another of the very popular quiz nights. Mary will again be quiz mistress, aided by John, so should be as entertaining as ever. Prizes too. The conservatory area has been reserved for us but be there early to bag a seat. Tuesday, 3rd March, quiz starts at 8.30ish.1 point

I hope the lucky buyer is going to enter the WSCC Speed Series? It would be a pity to loose such a potentially competitive car from the championship. Even if it was only an occasional appearance.1 point

Thanks mate, Delighted with them, PCD is 108, Front offset is et20 and rear et15, Fills the rear arches nicely with no spacers at all, These are 7" rims, I spent some time measuring and I know I wouldn't get a 13x8 on the rear without fouling the suspension1 point

That gives me some comfort I suppose. I have a lot of patience for small companies, but over 2 weeks without any reply is bad even if they are understaffed. Something as simple as an automatic reply to emails, or a voicemail is all that is needed to keep customers confidence. This kind of customer service scares people away and worse, can give them a bad reputation.1 point

That's quite a read, Andy. As has been said, just the fact you have taken on such a challenge in order to try and improve the lives of your two kids speaks wonders. Serious man kudos heading your way 👍 It's absolutely no wonder you struggle from time to time. My partner and I have this discussion every now and again to try and ground ourselves - we stop and think of what a 'normal' / average (appreciate that is a broad term but bear with me...) member of society deals with in a day. Then consider what you put yourself through every day. Simply having to make a large number of decisions in the best interests of another vulnerable human within your care takes a hell of a lot out of you! I am completely unaware of the setup of any support structure for heroes like yourself, but I hope there is something available. Hope to meet you at an event sometime (I'm just across the border in the better county 😉) and buy you a beer!1 point

The saga continues…. I eventually got through to them on Friday morning. They had no idea what my order status was but said it should have been shipped weeks ago and would look into it. Said they would call back in 10 mins. 5 hours later with no return call I phoned them… Same person claimed that my order was in the final process of manufacture (funny that 🙄) almost ready and should be in the post that day (Friday) sent via next day delivery, backed up with an email confirmation. great! – no email, nothing in the post Monday or Tuesday So I Called again this morning (at least im getting though now ) Same person on the phone…oh yeah ill have to look into that, ill call you back in 10 mins… Another 5 hours later with no return call I called back… same person, not a clue about my order, put on hold and guess what… they’re still being manufactured and should be in the post today/tomorrow and be with me by Friday. Im not holding my breath that’s for sure. It amazes me that a company can be this misleading to customers and be so unorganised with today’s technology. Sorry if im ranting but I need to vent my frustration 😒0 points
